True that. Doesn’t help that he jumps a half second after you do, so if he got hit, he loses your rings. Sonic with Tails was only for my little sister to play without having to worry about dying.
Yeah beating Sonic 2 with all emeralds is much easier if not only possible, with Sonic only.
However I do sometimes play S2 withough getting emeralds and Tails is kinda nice to have around ;3
I finally got all the emeralds, but I used youtube to get to know the matchups. Those left->right mixups with the stages being zoned in the center with bombs are tough battles. From what I saw in the youtube vid (player used Sonic & Tails), whatever Tails gains honestly just looks like a bonus instead of his piggy bank for rings to be a dependable source of points towards the end. But then again, aren’t the ring requirements higher when you use Sonic & Tails? I believe I noticed a difference in the final stage (last section I had to get to 190 with Sonic, but Sonic & Tails had to get like 210…?)
I play Sonic only just in general (so also in S3&K as well). CPU Tails doesn’t really do much for me, though he’s probably more useful in Sonic 2 such as getting up those nuts in the Metropolis Zone (in 3, it’s always a super/hyper Sonic affair - those special stages are always fun, but they are very free - shoutouts to Blue Sphere being the best bonus stages in a Sonic game ever).
If you’re doing the Sonic 2 special stages right the only time you should ever be jumping is when on the walls. It shoots right back down onto the floor. Otherwise you should never be jumping. Ever.
Sonic 2s special stages are the best ones. 3s fucking suck, i hate em.
Remember that one from S&K where it was basically a grid full of red spheres with blue spheres outlines? If it wasn’t for Sonic 3’s save feature, I would’ve never finished it.
That’s pretty much what I’m talking about. 
When you locked on Sonic 1 to S&K you’d get a chance to play more challenging stages and they called it Blue Sphere.
I loved Blue Sphere. It was so easy to play, and it’s sense of challenge to me was quite fair. It was cool how it would get more intense the longer you were in the stage when it sped up (though I remember there were times it never sped up on rare occasions - guess it was a bug.) That stage also had osm music.
I thought it was absolutely awesome in S&K when you got to see all the emeralds at the Hidden Palace Zone (my second favorite Sonic stage.) If I was aware of the stage voting thing that happened on facebook, that would have made it to my list because the background with the death egg was incredibly well done. (Same for lava reef 2.)

I’m on my girl’s computer listening to that interview and I’m seriously surpised that out of all the stages from 3k that Sky Sanctuary got voted the most…eh…whatever. God man…I’m not fuckin ready for November to rape my pocket yet.

Pretty cool how you can make different stages by locking on different cartridges. If I still had my Genesis with a S&K cart, I’d spend the whole day locking on genesis games to see what kind of stages I’d get.
There’s a preview of the 3DS version of Sonic Generations on Sonic Retro and things don’t sound too good at the moment.
If Modern is actually like Rush it wont be that bad to me but I don’t know…we’ll see.

I feel like calling Gamestop just to make sure my pre-order is for the 360 version and not the PS3 since it’s not on the receipt. I can’t have them fucking up November 1st for me.
Why do that when I can do that for you? If the game sku on the receipt starts with 20 it’s 360. If its 27 then it’s PS3.

TSSZ put up a preview of the 3DS version of Sonic Generations and they don’t exactly sound thrilled about what they’ve played so far.
they’ve also confirmed that classic sonic will have a homing attack.
Yeeeeeeaah…Sega if it is indeed not up to par push it back to clean it up. You’re going to get money from the HD versions anyway.
