Looks like I’ll be the new owner of Unleashed… HD! :3 Thanks for the help!
Green Hill
Chemical Plant
Seaside Hill (no gameplay footage yet)
Speed highway
Sky Sanctuary
Casino Night (DLC)
Im not going to look at the leak list but how many more stages do we have left
I expect for everything to be spoiled in the first week of November imo…
I’m so late, but I just found this thread, and I also just found that Sonic CD is FINALLY coming to my xbox and ps3!!!
YESSSSS!!! ^0^
I keep telling people that Sonic CD is the best game in the entire franchise, and at the very least, 5-10 years ahead of its time with the time mechanics, and the excellent OST (both versions)
There are 9 stages in Generations, with 2 Acts for Classic and 2 Acts for Modern:
SG Stages
[details=Spoiler]
Classic era:
Green Hill
Chemical Plant
Sky Sanctuary
Adventure era:
City FUCKING Escape
Speed Highway
Seaside Hill
Recent era:
Planet Wisp
Rooftop Run
Crisis City[/details]
I don’t know if I’m more hype for SG on 3ds or 360 lol.
to many city themed levels…/wrists…
the customizable skills and finding items in game to advance the story and unlock the final ending are…:(…
Thinking Sega may have done too much again? It’s one thing for them to do more of something that’s already worked… until they act brand new about it.
EDIT: Such irony. I’m playing Unleashed and it requires finding items to advance the story. I win.
Modern Era Trailer

Crisis City sounds so different at first until it gets later in the trailer.
wow…that looks amazing…they even put in the power-ups from sonic colors…do you think it will just be the planet wisp exclusive?
perfect chaos looks amazing…I guess the final trailer will tease Silver then…
Wat wat wat? In SG? fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck they pulled this gay shit in the rush games why add stupid fluff that clutters the game? KEEP IT SIMPLE SEGA! It’s like getting a medium rare NY strip steak only to find out it’s filled with jelly.
Well, I hate to say it, but in spite of this game making a solid foundation for future Sonic games, Unleashed is the worst Sonic game I’ve ever played. I thought Heroes was bad… this game is so bad, the demo version on Xbox Live is worth more than the full game.

There are so many things to not like about this game - and I really don’t wanna put them all here. So in this picture I took, I’m not all that concerned that it took me 90 minutes to beat the main last stage. It’s the simple fact that the game had to tell me down to the tenth how long I was hating every moment of this stage as it reminded me of everything I dislike about 3D Sonic games. It’s almost as if Sega is taunting their customers.
But you know what? Fuck it. I’m going in.
-The camera (though it doesn’t get caught behind walls anymore) is stupid even though they “fixed” it.
-Sonic is allergic to water - he drowns as soon as he’s standing in it
-If you loose all your lives on the final boss stage, you have to run through the entire main course again (another 90 minutes? Fuck that.)
-Drifting is useless
-Werehog stages
-Boss stages
-Later speed stage layouts
-Power up skills
-Placing 1-ups conveniently after an area that takes luck to get through.
-Any hub stage with water
-If you beat a stage with less than 5 lives, you’ll start with 5 lives in the next area (?)
-Werehog’s voice when he dies falling
Man… I just wanna complete this game so I can go back to some of the enjoyable daytime stages… and then delete it and redownload the demo.
So…you hate the part of the game everyone else hated then?
People are being waaay to nitpicky about this game.
“The jump doesn’t seem high enough”
“Too many city levels”
Really?
Fucking c’mon man.
We finally have a GREAT Sonic game and you’re still going to be pessimistic little fucks about it?
And you wonder why they gave us WereSonic.
Werehog was an idea that Sega of Japan pushed for the sake of having more variety that the other branches didn’t really agree to. Thing is, Sega of Japan had the final decision so they went with it. Werehog was a horrible concept, but it actually wasn’t executed all that horribly. It’s a lot like Shadow’s game in its entirety when I think about it.
Meanwhile you have Sonic Heroes which was absolutely fantastic on paper and conceptually, but ended up playing like absolute garbage. I don’t know how Sonic Heroes can really be considered better Unleashed even with Werehog. The game’s genuinely awful.
No. WereHog was absolutely retarded. And it was implemented horribly. In every way possible.
“But the Day stages were okay” Yeah. I hear that from everyone. Guess what? You weren’t a fucking Were**HEDGEHOG **during those parts.
There has not been a good sonic game since 3S&K. They have either been super gimmicky or just flat out bad. Usually both.
Sonic 4 Episode 1 is decent but there is still a lot of things wrong with it. It was a game that showed that Sega was finally making the right choices with Sonic instead of trying to make Sonic in Camelot. Oh wait, they did that.
Oh, actually, I take that back. I actually loved Sonic Colors. The premise of the game was fucking dumb but the gameplay was great.
I haven’t played the Sonic Rush series. But I’ve heard a lot of mixed things about it. Very strong love or hate type of game.
And never played Sonic Heroes or Shadow. They both looked really shitty. And I generally think Shadow is an awful character. In every regard.
Don’t bother mentioning Sonic Adventures. I thought both games were awful.
Well, if you aren’t going to bother playing other games that I’d mention are good or decent and you don’t think the Adventure games are any good, then yeah, there hasn’t really been ‘anything good’ since Sonic 3 and Knuckles. You’ve preemptively ruled out everything. What’s left, honestly? The Rivals games for PSP? Those aren’t bad either, but they’re nothing to write home about so you’d just call those terrible too.
Sonic Colors was good, but it really wasn’t without it’s problems. It’s incredibly short, incredibly easy and it’s so bogged down by 2D sections you might as well not even call it a 3D Sonic game. Wisps are redundant after the first three times or so that you use them and are just as much of a gimmick as guns and Werehog.
The 2D sections where the highlight of Colors…
Better to have a shorter game of awesome than a longer game of blah
Werehog stages are definitely long but what in the hell were you doing man? lol
Also by saying Unleashed is the worst Sonic game you’ve ever played I’m gonna assume that you’ve never played 06, Black Knight or Shadow. Just putting things into perspective.
If you’ve seen anyone do speed runs in this game then you would know that drifting isn’t useless. I put a vid of a guy earlier completely raping the day time stages using drift since it refills your meter when you use it. http://www.youtube.com/user/KAKIPI1000#p/u/13/UZdU7W5cb50
Yeaaaaaah, but I just needed to vent and now I’m ready to run through the final stage. ^___________________^ (Only for the love of the hedgehog.)
It’s been a while since I’ve played Heroes so aside from the general issues Sonic Team had for years (camera causing deaths) I don’t really remember in bits what frustrated me. I remember stating that the best thing about Sonic Heroes were the times I wasn’t playing through it (i.e. those pretty cutscenes you get - it’s always a treat to see how nice Sonic’s looks/his environment got over each future system).
What I do know is this. I could play limited parts of Unleashed and enjoy the hell out of them. But if my goal was to go through the storyline like I am now, I’d pick Heroes because I don’t remember it being as frustrating overall. Playing through Unleashed in the beginning, like anyone, I wasn’t really fond of the Werehog stages seeing how sweet the Hedgehog stages were. Later on, the daytime stages become something I just want to get through because there are some design in the stages that just aren’t done right and controlling Sonic becomes much more demanding when it’s difficult enough (again, making the Werehog stages seem only a bit less frustrating, but no less dumb).
Everything comes crashing down in the final stage where both parts of the game being fused into a single level are at their worst. The Werehog part becomes ridiculous during these constant balancing and platforming areas (which made me discover that the character doesn’t even have a shadow beneath himself) because the camera is trying to kill me and it’s a consistent battle that never ends. As the hedgehog, I hated the part where you’re riding in a sled. There are tons of areas you’ll have to die to figure out how to conquer because there’s no other way to figure out what’s ahead thanks to how much of the stage controls Sonic’s movement (i.e.: if I press A on the A cannon it shoots me up and gets me nowhere. If I press X, it shoots me right. I land on a short platform but I’m going too fast to stop and inevitably, I fall to my death, but now I see where I need to go). It’s like everything that was wrong in the game was put into the longest level and to compromise the lack of stupidity in design, they throw a ton of 1Ups shortly after the lamp post. Again, if you lose all your lives during the final battle (or what seems to be the final battle since it’s vs Dark Gaia), you have to run back the annoying airplane stage, the nearly intolerable main act and the childsplay battle vs Eggman. The battle vs Dark Gaia is yet another let down. I know Sonic Heroes had issues, but I don’t think Heroes wanted to take me on an extreme high, only to test my toleration in the end. The more I played through this story, the more worthless the game became.
I was probably just incredibly salty about this final stage when I said Unleashed is worse than Heroes (perhaps it just translates as this is the most frustrating Sonic game I have ever played - more than Heroes). Heroes has little to nothing going for it as far as something you can recall as a pleasurable Sonic experience whereas Unleashed at least does the daytime stages really well. :3
I was dying and coming back to life. That’s why it took 90 minutes.
Yeah, I haven’t touched 06, Black Knight or Shadow and don’t intend to (they never appealed - and seeing the playthrough of 06 is enough to not want to touch it). It’s difficult to believe that there are worse games than Unleashed/Heroes but wow Sega… wow.
I take back what I said about drifting being useless after watching that video.
^…OHHH…You’re on Eggmanland? Your frustration now makes all types of sense now lol.
Also yes…I remember my complaint about about Werehog not having a shadow to help with platforming. I specifically made a comment about how that’s 3D platforming 101 and how Sega made that mistake is mindboggling.
I almost honestly think Sonic Team could benefit from working under Miyamoto just once. Like they just come into the studio and just sub in for some of the staff here and there and take what they learned back over.
