The shooter games thread returns! The Empire Of Ammo says, EVERYBODY GETS SHOT!

I intentionally had it stretched like that cause I’m in the school of thought that bigger is better lol. I’ll change the resolution when I play again tho.

About my questions in the vid, I remembered how to switch modes in Power Style after I already started uploading the vid lol. And I didn’t know Power Style automatically triggered the Hidden Route. That’s good for scrubs like me :shy:

Thanks for the input!

Maybe it’s Gunbird?

EDIT: Damn, didn’t see nikkos’s post. BTW Psikyo is awesome!

Wow the gods of shooting have really been smiling upon me lately. First it’s Fast Striker, then Hitogata Happa, and now Ketsui and DDP:DOJ. Add Marvel 3 and suddenly I have a much harder time getting homework done. :frowning:

 That’s why I say everybody gets shot. Homework doesn’t always get done.

Speaking of done, where the hell is Child Of Eden hiding at? It’s your turn baby!!! Bring my next orgasm of the eyes to my screen!! Bring it to life Dr. Frankenstien!!

MMP/PS menus looks nice: YouTube - MUCHI MUCHI PORK! / PINK SWEETS Region Free

Can’t wait, my copy should be in Friday

I’ve had mine for almost an hour and yet to play it :stuck_out_tongue:
I’m downloading the Matsuri ver. DLC right now, and then after that I’m gonna play and give first impressions. I would make a video but I’m not cause I feel really lazy

I don’t know how to technically describe either one, but they’re both fun. I don’t like the ships overall in Pink Sweets except for Shasta Rose in Arrange Mode. Dodging in Muchi Muchi seems a little tedious cause of bullet colors and the power up icons but maybe that’s just me

They probably chose those colors because everything else powerup related is pink, reddish colors.

Not really feeling pink sweets at all. I got to put some more time into it. That ship that shoots lightning… Not sure what to say. The game feels so different from anything else CAVE related I’ve played.

A conversion cult huh.
Nah I haven’t been out there in a long time.

Yeah, that shit is mad awkward. That was the first one I picked too cause the bitch looked mean on the character select screen lol.

I think I’ll upload a replay later of the current top scorer in Muchi Muchi Pork later on, maybe in a few days since I’ll be pretty busy. He milks the FUCK outta the game, it’s crazy

Bought the PDP Marvel Pad and let me say…

Just let me say…

It’s pretty nice for shmups (when you can’t get to a stick or whatever). The clicky joystick and clicky face buttons feel really nice. Like for instance, I only got to test it out with 19XX but I was doing pretty well. Since the controller is designed to be held single handily (as well as with two hands) it makes doing something like charging the bomb while shooting way easier since you can use your fingers.

The only two downsides to this controller is that the stick can’t be set to left analog or right analog (for games that only use the analog sticks) and the left and right triggers aren’t micro switched based like everything else (so it’s cheap feeling soft click).

But for a small controller that you can take anywhere it’s VERY nice. This is perfect for me and my Alienware M11x. Time to get back into MAME!

Yeah, I’m not a huge fan of the PDP for fighting games, but for ANY other arcade-style game, the PDP is the shit. Well…as long as you can use the D-pad.

I’m liking both games right now, Pink Sweets is definitely different, but I like it. Then again, I liked Ibara quite a bit as well, and I spent some time with Recca beforehand (which has a similar shield mechanic).

And yeah, a conversion cult  Gotta spread the shooter love.

After playing DDP:DOJ and Ketsui back to back, not sure which I prefer. DOJ definitely gives me that happy nostalgic feeling from playing so much of the first two games (DP on the Saturn <3), and Ketsui was a lot of fun. The bosses are already extremely familiar from my hours upon hours upon hours of playing Death Label on my DS so I knew how to dodge most of the bullet patterns.

edit
Still not getting sound for Batsugun.
I downloaded the u1 and u2 updates for mame141 but I am not sure how to use them. They come as .diff files, and there is a diff folder for mame already. Do I just drop them there and call it a day? Any help would be appreciated.

lol so true.

My ranking for the MMP/PS port

  1. Muchi Muchi Pork Arcade
  2. Muchi Muchi Pork Arrange
  3. Pink Sweets Arrange
  4. Pink Sweets Arcade

I played Marvel with it for about an hour and as much better as I was doing with it than the standard controller it wasn’t as comfortable as a stick. I’m thinking of selling this pad to my brother though. He doesn’t like sticks but he might like this.

If PDP is serious about getting into the fighting game arena then they’ll make another one (with better art) and hopefully with the analog stick switch. Also the guide button doesn’t need to be a s big as it is. And I’d like to see the Left Analog and Right Analog stick buttons get scooted to the top of the controller opposite the back and start buttons. That would make the controller complete.

As promised, a ridiculous replay for Muchi Muchi Pork. Grab some popcorn!

Do yall use dpad or analog stick on 360?

Analog. Thought I haven’t played many shmups on my Silver 360 controller.

I use my stick.

I’m glad Espgaluda, DOJ, and Ketsui have finally made it to MAME. I already own the first two on PS2, but since the Ketsui port was so terrible, it’s a relief to be able to be able to play it on my PC. I’m certainly not going to buy a Japanese 360 on top of the cost of these games, and I still don’t understand why Espgaluda II, Mushi-Futari, DDP DF, Death Smiles, Muchi Muchi Pork, Exzeal, and Raiden IV are on the worst-selling console in Japan. Wouldn’t it have made more sense to put these games on the PS3 or even the Wii?
