Darius Gaiden is annoying… they fill the screen with tons and tons of wierd tracking lasers and bullets and your ship has a huge hit box.
I love ESP.Rade for some reason. I play that thing over and over again and I can perfect the first two stages.

I just got Sengoku Cannon for my PSP. It’s very similar to Sengoku Ace/Sengoku Blade for the Saturn, except with better graphics.
A nice shooter for a handheld.
i still like darius gaiden. It’s got a kick ass soundtrack and some crazy ass bosses

to answer your question for those games, usually it’s as simple as downloading and opening the file. some of them don’t work depending on what else you have on your computer and some simply don’t work at all. and yep, there are fans of shooters over here. :tup:

Man. Stage 7 of Rrootage seems to have my number. I’ve been trying to do it without bombs, but that shit just isn’t happening. I’ll keep trying until the end of the month, but if I can’t get it by then, I’ll bombing everything in sight, and that DOES include little old ladies and their fucking dogs too!!!

Finally played Raiden III. Good stuff, a shmup where I can actually keep track of all the crap onscreen.
Also played that recent one where you control the helicopters and use funky weapon pods for powerups. You’re supposed to be Germans fighting “the English-speaking people,” 
Now that’s a good shooter.
Still havnt played Raiden III yet. I want to, so bad. How does it compare to the past Raiden’s?
I really wish R-Type FINAL would come out on other platforms. That’s my personal favorite.

Relatively unknown game here, but when it came out it was the shit (and still is).
Axelay (SNES) by Konami. Alternates between Vert and Horzies gameplay. Game is BEAUTIFUL when in Horzies mode btw (Mode 7 and scaled graphics tricks. Top shit at the time).

Playing DonPachi, and WOW. The spritework is amazing. They really put their foot (or feet) in this one. I grabbed a couple of its sequels, so I’ll be giving those a run aswell. It’s hard for me to sit and actually attempt to beat one said game too. XD
But one day, I’ll sit through each game and try and beat it.
Also, anyone played the Xevious Arrangement game from the Namco Classics Arcade? It’s pure awesome. They redid alot of the game (visually with pixels) while still maintaining its orriginal controls and stuff (plays exactly like the original). It also has a remixed soundtrack.
contra hard corps is my favorite shooter of all time. it has multiple endings, 4 different characters with their strengths and weaknesses and each of them have 4 different weapons for a total of 28-32 in all. not to mention a kickass soundtrack. and crazy ass bosses that are the best in the series.
Did anyone here give Gunstar Super Heroes (The new one for GBA) a chance? I missed the 2 player, but it was still fun, and Seven Force is STILL the coolest boss ever.
