Iāve only recently became interested in shmups. It started sometime in '08 when I started collecting them on Dreamcast (Border Down, Under Defeat, Triggerheart Exelica). Now that Iāve recently bought a 360, Iāve been able to play Raiden IV and Espgaluda II. Of the shmups I want to play, so far I havenāt played Otomedius Gorgeous (which I heard isnāt all that great but I still wanna play it anyway), Mushihimesama Futari, Senko no Ronde DUO (which isnāt out yet) or DeathSmiles.
I watched some vids of Dondonpatchiās true final boss, andā¦is Hibachi harder than Mushihimesama Futariās final boss?!? I thought itād never be possible to top the HARDEST BOSS IN A VIDEO GAME EVER, but I think Hibachi takes that one
Nope, no region-free for Ketsui, unless 5pb pulls a big surprise on everyone.
All the DoDonPachi gameās Hibachis are known for being extremely difficult (which is fitting considering you basically have to 1cc the games up to that point, which means going through two loops of the game). This is Hibachi from DoDonPachi Daifukkatsu Black Label(the latest in the series): [media=youtube]SVSVrcUW17E[/media] . The final boss of Futari doesnāt have any special requirement to reach, so itās not as rough as other stuff Cave has done.
After burner climax is out for PS3 and 360. Donāt know if its really a shmup or not but decided to post it.

Man, I missed out on some great shooters by not owning a Turbo Grafx/PC Engine. The Wiiās Virtual Console is helping me make up for lost time. Blazing Lazers is a lot of fun even if Area 8 is owning me. Compile did make this game so it shouldnāt surprise me too much that itās blessed with awesome. I got Gate of Thunder earlier this week, which is also a solid shmup, but its more difficult than Blazing Lazers. Iām gonna get Lords of Thunder when I get some more Wii Points.

You reminded me I havenāt finished the final stage of R-type final where if you die the game just ends. I think I used the pilebunker and drill option ships. I donāt even think that turret/shield is even called an option its been so long.
Anyone here had the pleasure of playing Ketsui yet? The game is simply amazing. Both Arcade and X Mode are fun and extremely challenging (at least for me), but scoring seems different as far as the number icons go.
And Senko no Ronde DUO is breathtaking :lovin: I only used the orange one that the main character uses so far, so I could get a grasp of the system flow. B.O.S.S. mode activation is so cheap lol

So I got to watch my friend play Dodonpachi Dai Ou Jou Black Label on 360 yesterday. Beautiful game and awesome bullet patterns and system, once you get past the atrocious loading screens. SOOOOO glad 5pb did a great job on the Ketsui port
