I just recently found that out myself. in that case, forget about a download. no sense grabbing something you’re more than likely not to like.
@panther I think the raiden game you’re talking about is raiden fighters. I know RF2 has about 12 ships, but I don’t remember playing RF1 yet.

what’s up fellow shooters? Yours truly is back with good news. after taking a little break from my E.S.P. Ra De quest, I started back on it this Friday as a few people showed up. since it was being plastered all over the main screen, everybody was watching and I said,“fuck you game!! you WON’T embarras me in front of my company!!!” well, I did what I had never done before. I went through the first three stages without continuing. fourth stage shut me down, but now I’m that much closer. and I nearly got through the third without dying too. Oh yeah. that bitch at the end is gonna get hers. red hat and all.

no worries. I’m just getting back onto my mission this week. I have to get a job now, so no telling how long things will take before I can get back into it. probably about 20 min. go get shot soon. Took a break. Tried out rRootage again (yes, I’m an addict) a couple of days ago and lo and behold, thatbreak did me wonders. I broke into the 8s again.
Besides that, nothing. I tried ESP Ra De also and got shot down by some stray lone bullet in the third stage.
“Die Slave” seems promising.
I’m about to check it out now. Hopefully it’ll be a good diversion.

Hope all you guys have picked up Taito Legends 2. There are some quality shooters on that disc. G. Darius, Darius Gaiden, Metal Black, Gekirindan, and some others I haven’t mentioned.

I agree with the soundtrack for Einhander, its awesome, but Lords of Thunder, WOW!
is that the one for the TG-16? that whole soundtrack was YEARS beyond its time. I was late going back to a class once because of it. At least some of the newer shooters are holding it up in terms of music.

I’m back after my first few shots of die slave and it seems to be a pretty standard shooter for the most part. I don’t like the way you can’t switch the button for the lock-on missiles, but other than that it isn’t much to complain about in the weapons. I haven’t seen any worthwhile difference in the ships yet. then again, I’ve only played two of the three selectable ones. the bosses look like they should look for a game that is still basically a test subject. don’t expect too much and you’ll be fine. speaking of the bosses, it looks like another memory test type of thing. once you remember what to do at which point, you become untouchable…ZZZZZzzzzzzzzzz… the difficulty isn’t anything worth remembering. your weapons just get weaker instead of the boss actually getting harder. right now, it isn’t getting much love from me. I hope that’ll change later on. It’s not bad, but it’s no End effector.

I’m gonna update my PSP to play this Xyanide Resurrection demo.
Not that I homebrewed anyway.
It reminds me of Panzer Dragoon minus going anywhere lol. In the demo you are stuck in one place with one rapid fire machine gun but you move your craft and crosshair around shooting shit. It has potential but I do believe the game is finished now…eeek!
Yes, the TG-16, Gate of Thunder was the first one, and Lords of Thunder is the sequel, both soundtracks are INCREDIBLE. My brother and I put an Alpha 3 vid up to one of the tracks (Dezant) this last spring, combining two of our favorite things:

Aw yes!!! thanks for the vid man. :tup: now I have to find either an emulator or the system itself and relive that particular game of goodness. I’m glad more people know about that than just me.

if you have the swap disk, there’s mushihimesama 1 & 2. there’s also raiden 3, but you specified good so buy that one at your own risk. R-type final is a good one if you haven’t played the series before, but if you’re looking for the oldschool difficulty…sorry. On the wii I don’t think there is a shooter yet.

Mushihimesama is WAY different from Raiden though. I mean, yeah they’re both vert-scroll but Raiden doesn’t play anyhwere near a cave shooter.
