I did the trick where on stage 3 you can hide near the boss so everything will unlock after a certain amount of time. Cheap. Yes. Do I care? Fuck no.

Speaking of R-Type, if you want an Irem game from the PSN store, do it quick. I read a report the other day that Irem is pulling its catalog from the PS3 and PSP sections of the store.

Yeah. Then exit the next stage after the game saves and you’ll have a bunch of stuff unlocked.

I hate Irem. I want to be rich and buy their shmup catalog from them and make new games for In the Hunt and R-Type.

OMFG!!! In The HUNT!!! :woot: :rock: That is the shiz-NITE!!! Yeah, that should’ve gotten ported with all due haste, but accidents do happen. If they ever port R-Type final to the PS3, it should be a golden accomplishment to kill a boss with the pile bunker weapon. OMG. do you know how many times I’ve gotten killed just trying to hit something with that? No. not the longest one, that short one that’s about as long as a fingernail. That would be worth bragging rights IMO.

The Humble Indie Bundle folks announced today that their latest pack now includes Steel Storm: Burning Retribution, a top-down shooter game that looks interesting.

And for those who don’t know about it, the Humble Indie Bundle is a pay-what-you-want package of indie games, with the ability to choose the distribution of your money between the game devs, the Electronic Frontier Foundation, Child’s Play, or just a tip to the Humble folks. I generally give a buck since I’m poor. This bundle also includes Crayon Physics Deluxe, Cogs, Hammerfight, And Yet it Moves, and the (AMAZING) VVVVVV.

I love no risk situations like this. Toss them some pocket change, play some games, and if you don’t like them… well at least you gave to charity!

Okay, I take back what I said. Steel Storm isn’t that great. It’s a very forgettable game.

However, don’t let that prevent you from picking up the HIB3. It’s worth it for VVVVVV alone. Even if you think you won’t be interested, give at least a penny.
