OK so here are a few of my casual matches against EMP Noel. I know most of my mistakes in these matchups as far as decisions in combos and dropped links, but I was really trying to learn how Ibuki can approach certain match ups, which normals to use, and test priority of certain things. All critique is welcome:wgrin: thank you
Post videos where you lose. We can’t really give advice if it looks like your opponent doesn’t even bother blocking.
I’m pretty sure you can FA some of Vega’s wall dives, then dash in and target combo on his recovery. Also you can freely vortex and safe jump these characters and go to town with Ibuki’s mixups but I didn’t see much of that.
Thanks MingoDynasty, but if you noticed he never does the crossup, he was always doing 2 hit attack, besides sliding or blocking I’m not sure if theres anything you can do about that
The Ibuki vs Vega matchup seems like Ibuki vs Chun, except Vega has a wall dive attack for offense while Chun has EX sbk for defense.
Basically, you need to stay out of Vega’s poke range, unless you have the frame advantage (ie: you are the one pressuring him). Fortunately for you, Vega’s pressure game is completely lackluster compared to Ibuki’s. Worst case is he’ll just poke you away until you’re out of range or go for some tick throw setups followed by wall dive/izuna drop mixups when you’re knocked down.
When you’re out of Vega’s poke range, there’s not much he can do. His FBA (Flying Barcelona Attack) has a big 31 frame recovery, so feel free to focus and punish. His rolling attack leaves you with a 2 frame advantage on block, so feel free to take your advantage and start pressuring him now that he’s right in front of you and has to block, lol. That just leaves his pokes, which have pretty good range, almost like Chun’s cr.HK but much much faster. Not sure what to do here, except hope that he’s foolish to throw out whiffed pokes and you can knock him down with raida or cr.HK, or hit him with some tsumuji kicks.
If you can predict him throwing pokes, you can easily get in on him with SJ from up to like mid screen. If he starts doing his Scarlet Terror (flip kick), I think kunai should be able to beat it since only ex has invincibility frames. Once you’re in, go to town with your mixups. Vega has no way of getting out except throwing unsafe ex moves, backflips, and backdash. Most Vegas are going to block and backflip, so as soon as you see your starter move whiff, (command?) dash in and throw him.
Imo this matchup is favored toward Ibuki, as long as you don’t let his pokes slice you to death and as long as you don’t let his wall dive shenanigans get to you.
nice now you know what kind of person i am lol
so you might wanna be carefull on what you say
and stop talking shit
try not to be rude when you post here please
you said i did random neak breaker?
yes those were random tbh but you ate them all and i blocked all your random neak breaker
Hey Philly this is off topic but I saw you at ECT, just wondering how you did and which matches gave you a problem over there. You OCV’d my friends team…lol, I told them that you had a good Ibuki.
well I agree with everything you say because I kinda feel that i dont win against really good people and in my defense i Know the vortex and some of her bnbs i just find it hard to apply some of em in a game because i always go into crouching jabs but hey i guess ill take your tips seriously and do more training mode then ranked.
And the sun was in your eyes… and you only played with one hand… and your tv was off
lolz@excuses
Anyway Mingo, you remind me a lot of GATOR over in the Akuma threads. Gives good info, types way too much. However, unlike him, you are pretty arrogant sometimes (like your critique of LoyalSol’s Ibuki)
