@ Alex, I really liked your use of the regular jump kunai cross ups. They are basically just as ambiguous and can seemingly be made as meaty as the super jump crosses. In some ways it almost seemed harder for me to block the regular jump crosses. I’m guessing that’s because Ibuki moves from left to right quicker with a regular jump cross than with a super jump cross.
Is cr.lk, st.lp, st.lp, st.mk a viable combo? The data says that st.lp(close), st.lp(far) is a one frame link, but it doesn’t feel like it to me, and I tested it on crouching Ryu. The cr.lk to st.lp is two frames.
That, or can you plink the cr.lk into another cr.lk into st.lp?
If i can give you guys any advice, is that you should try to slowly ween yourself off of far. st. lp unless it’s right after the lp.mp.hp TC or some other specific time. I got used to playing my friend who uses Dudley because it’ll always hit him crouching, but when i faced crouching vegas, ryus, bisons and a bunch of the other people in the cast it was whiffing all day and i was dropping combos, like Coos said, Ibuki is a high execution character, so 2 or 3 one frame links in a combo ain’t shit to us riiiiight!
Alex! Dope shit, i gotta incorporate regular jump kunai, great stuff bud, and thanks for that corner combo.
HAha those Ibuki mirrors were so hectic.
man getting the non sj kunai consistent is a bitch
cl lk stops the other person from mashing in your strings. They have to be holding down back or else they’ll be hit by it, and you can combo into standing lp or even combo forward lk (forward lk > ex or lk tsumuji).
- I don’t think i’ve seen anyone mention this, and maybe no one knows, but after the ex kick thinggy, in the corner, when he pressed c.hp, this will connect and he has the option of command dash or sjc a kunai to keep pressure. As for the other time he presses b.mk. This is done because he was expecting a quick wake up by blanka that he was hoping to get a counter hit on (i’m guessing). cuz on counter hit he can go into s.mk and combo from there.
- I know against blanka, he can just use his electric thinggy, and that will eat the kunai and make u land on him and eat electric.
- You are definitely right that, it punishes. I’m not too sure myself why he didn’t go for it, unless there’s a trick with blanka i don’t know >.>. watch the clip again and see what their inputs are, it’s usually very informative to me
- finally, the last question. If you look at blanka’s health, and his inputs, it shows he was mashing down back lk, and blocked at the last second. This means he was trying his option select, cuz he wasn’t familiar with the mix up, or he just died of chip damage. Also you block based on which side ibuki is on. Even if the kunai looks like it’s on the oposite side.
Blanka’s “electric thingy” does not stop meaty kunai vortex. If Blanka’s electricity beats you out of your kunai he’s telling you something. He’s basically telling you that your kunai vortex timing sucks ass and u need to work on it to make it more meaty. Meaty kunai kills electric mash free. The only thing Blanka has that flat out stops kunai vortex is EX up ball. That’s it. I’m pretty sure he can mash backdash to put himself in an airborne knockdown state so he won’t get comboed also. Though even then he’s putting himself into another knockdown situation which isn’t really terribly good either.
Dashio probably didn’t punish some of those blocked Blanka balls because in order to punish it u must use reversal timing and it’s risky to try HP neckbreak to punish if u don’t absolutely start to react after you block the ball. If the Blanka player is mixing up the balls well enough he can force u to second guess punishing him. It’s only the crap Blanka players that HP Blanka ball you all day that HP neckbreak reversal is free against. Good ones will mix it up with LP and MP balls to make them whiff and generally force u to block the Blanka balls at time where it’s hard for the eye to react with a reversal neck break.
**BTW I have some new videos up in the link below. **
I don’t have the internet on my phone right now so I can’t just directly upload them to my site. Though since there are direct download and not streamed there is no slowdown in the videos and they are slightly slightly easier to see. LOL. I think one of the vids doesn’t work but it’s me vs. Simply Ph33r and Zangeif Master using a variety of characters including Rufus, Rog and Chun. I think one of the matches is of me playing C.Viper but yeah.
The videos are in a “3gpp” codec which is some kind of camera format so you may need to download that codec first before u can watch the vids. The vids are all in a rar file that u just unzip.
The link below should help with that.
Playing ina stream vs. a local Makoto player now.
Man you got bodied in that last match lolol. Good shit even though in that last match you had a lot of chances to punish Makoto with U1.
Yeah I got mind fucked in the last match. I was just going to cross him up again in the first round of the last match but I decided to try and throw him instead and that cost me since he teched the throw. Should have just stuck with what was guaranteed. What was I missing that I could have punished with Ultra 1. I hadn’t even thought really about the setups or punishes with Ultra 1 vs. Makoto since it’s a rare matchup to even come up to begin with. Luckily he’s one of the only solid Makoto players that lives anywhere near the area so it’s something I can think about for sure now.
Off of the top of my head there were three blocked Hayates you could have tagged with reversal U1 for the full throw, and also there were two ex oroshis you probably could have reacted to the flash and pumped it out, but that’s a reach online since it takes some reaction to do that. IIRC there were some more but I’d have to go back and watch the match to see it.
Yeah I didn’t realized both of those specials were free grab U1 punish. Once I put that into use that’ll definitely make the match a bit more difficult for her. I just wasn’t sure if the hayates pushed her out too far for U1. Didn’t wanna risk it in a match.
Either way I should have been punishing the blocked Hayates with at least a s.LP punish which is free since Hayates are like neg 8 on block. Which is kinda cool since if she spaces the hayate too far away for the grab or you block the hayate low u still get punish her with the fireball. Oroshi is neg 4 or 5 on block so yeah can definitely U1 punish that but you have to be careful since that is only like neg 5 at worse. If you mess up the timing she gets to jump away from everything.
Which brings up something interesting I discovered. In order to punish LP hayates on block with full grab ultra 1 you have to block them HIGH. If you block a hayate low u will only be gurarnteed a fireball punish since a crouch block will push u too far away for the grab to connect.
Oh and to break the thread up from the strategy discussion here’s the recording of the footage for those that missed it. Starts around 22 minutes in.
Good job DJ your shit was pretty strong. You did get rocked in the last match but you went hard yo lol, real talk those makoto mix ups was something, even watching the video i got mind fucked after that cross up f+k Karakusa grabing EX neckbreaker really made me go “Wow”. Shit i learned alot from this match up, one question though were you trying to space mak out with your f+HK? those over heads was pretty damn good got her damn near every time you used it lol.
@Coos So if Ibuki has U1 stocked should mak be scared of throwing out hayates, since if blocked its a ultra 1 reversal? Or should it be depended on which hayates is used?
new sako vids i think. dafeet uploaded them yesterday. aa jugglezz

Vortex into juggle I’m liking this, and that low block string at the end was really nice
Finally I have been able to upload the first two parts of my matches vs. Deviljin01.
Me vs. Deviljin01 Part 1

Oh and for all those who missed the other part along with my corner mixup demonstration video, here you go.
Me vs. Deviljin01 Part 3 & Chillindude829

Me demonstrating the simple corner combo in a real match with a followup mixup that can lead to over 700 dmg and over 1000 stun, which isn’t bad.

Also please keep in mind that the video may glitch for like 2-5 seconds rarely but then it gets back to normal.
^ didn’t you already post this?
lol, I wouldn’t just post the same thing twice. The first two videos are completely new so no I haven’t posted them before.
I posted the other two yes, Just in case people missed it since I was planning on posting them alltogether.
I see Gouken vs Chun, and a retard blocking the view of the screen.
You’re obviously not watching the stream right now.
