The Shinobi Secrets: Ibuki Video Thread

The difference is 6 frames according to my strategy guide. -11 on block and -5 on hit. |-11 - 5| = 6

Well I’m going by EventHubs.

Actually, that would be -16, by real math standards.

Just sayin’.

No the DIFFERENCE between -11 and -5 is 6.

plinking that wont work… mk has priority over lk…

it WOULD work if mk didnt have a command normal attached to its forward movement… but it does… command moves have priority over normals… in this instance, since F+lk is a command normal, and since F+mp isnt a command normal… then you should be able to plink F+lk ~mp. but it wont work with mk.

also guys… remember that blocked and hit slides in the frame data assume that the slide was blocked at point blank range which gives the worst frame advantage… it is atleast +3 on hit when done from max slide range… which would make it -3 on block… this move is just a straight gamble with such a huge difference on block and hit, even at max slide range.

-dime

Actually that would be +16 due to the absolute value he’s using there.

I believe the correct equation would be |-11 - -5| = 6, since alexlkd said -11 and -5, not -11 and +5.

That is true mingo. Thank you for the correction. I meant to put a plus because of the two minuses to make it easier, but ended up hitting minus instead. I was so tired last night that I just didn’t care to fix it then, after I pressed post. But yea according to the book the difference should be 6. I don’t know about event hubs though.

This has turned into the mathematics secrets thread. Let’s get back on topic. There was a vid listed as Dashio’s Ibuki with the gamer tag of Owata Ikuo, I found some more from him vs GamerBee’s Adon.

Here’s a vid of Sako’s Ibuki…he loses vs a Blanka and he doesnt do many tricks but i figure since its Japanese it should be posted = p

Not the greatest Ibuki iv seen but to be fair the Adon was very good. Not much wake-up Kunai Vortex pressure, not many punishes on Adons risky kicks, no raida grab attempts, no air grab attempts.

Thanks for sharing though and getting the thread back on topic.

Um these videos are pretty old… see page 15 of this thread.

Yeah I agree, if that Ibuki simply blocked and punished those random reversal rising jaguars, he could have easily won a couple more rounds for free.

o ok man sorry i havent been keeping up with this thread lateky i looked at the date on them and thought so too but i neglected to look for them here, excuse my ignorance

I hope that isn’t the best Ibuki on Xbox live. there is someone on my friends list who was a solid Ibuki.
but maybe he was having a off game. I did like his target combo then far Lp-Mp block strings

I thought her df+mk was unsafe even on hit? She can combo a s.jab after it?

df.MK is -5 on hit, so it’s quite unsafe. She cannot combo anything after it.

I think this has been covered in an earlier post but that -5 is at point blank range. If you hit cr.mk at max slide range you can combo into the far st.lp becuse you recover quicker if you hit with the slide farther away from your opponent.

Yep,all the numbers in the guide are from point blank range,
so they arent always correct.
cr f+mk can combo into s lp 100% sure

Ah ok I just tried in training mode. But I’m not sure how useful it can be seeing as how the range is very specific and the link is like 1 frame link lol.

As long as ur not in a negative frame u have the advantage, even if u don’t necessarily link it. If ur at zero then u shuld be neutral at worst. Plus doing 70 dmg and getting close to the enemy is a good thing for Ibuki, generally speaking.
