The Shinobi Secrets: Ibuki Video Thread

Really solid play by nerdjosh, among the other comments about dropping far s.lp to s.mk and the lack of ex neckbreakers against sagat, i feel like he couldve done U2 through a tigershot a lot of times, i guess it’s tough on reaction, but usually against fireball characters i’ll just store the qcfx2 inputs and tap 3K on reaction. Great to watch though, i love how ibuki has so much pressure game and it’s safe if played well, despite her shitty wakeup game, i love that even doing the ex kaze is a bit of a mixup if you kunai or don’t kunai

Yeah he did a c.LK and then cancelled the c.LK into a focus attack. Causing him to lose 2 meters.

Nice NerdJosh vids, but I never saw him use TC6 (LP MP HP) as combo/block string starters. Also against Rog I thought his punishes off of crumple were not that great. Otherwise, pretty nice!

Some nice ibuki play there, was surprised he chose the ex kunai instead of neckbreaker to stop that sagat and his fireballs O.o.

Besides that some good solid play with nice mix up of the overhead into s.lp, s.mk, special ect

Nice Ibuki vs Balrog match, I have hard time beating balrogs with her…

Every time I look at gooteks, he reminds me of Miles from Lost =)

i found a video from the number one ranked ibuki on xbox live
uploaded couple days back

he lost though, and made some noticeable errors, but had some good stuff

here is the top 3rd ibuki on xbox live
from a foreign country it seems

he won and had some good stuff

I’m glad that the #1 Ibuki on XBL is actually pretty decent.

Yeah it was smart of the number 1 Ibuki to just stick to LK, MK chain strictly after hitting Blanka with meaty wake up kunai. His hit box is small and if there’s delay u don’t have to worry about linking shit. Obviously seems like Blanka U2 AA kills vortex (though luckily didn’t take a ton of damage). I guess he didn’t use EX up ball much to get out cuz he was worried of it whiffing and then getting neck breaked back into the vortex. Typical online Blanka that Blanka balls too much for his own good. People should just stick to jab, electricity block strings and tick throws.

3rd Ibuki vs. Honda was a typical replay of that matchup. Honda always trying to come back with some random ass damage after getting his ass beat. LOL. That’s probably the only real hard part of this match. You have tools to zone him but if he gets some okey dokey random hit on you it always completely evens things out. Smart BnB usage and I like how he opted to use the j.LK cross at times instead of just straight going for vortex. I think he even used j.HK one time to fake the j.LK cross which set up for more damage.

Is the OP for this thread going to be updated with all the videos people are submitting? It would be nice to find character specific videos without trawling through the whole 20+ pages.

Well the original poster hasn’t posted in here for at least like 10 pages straight so it may be a while before something like that comes about. Actually I would go as far to say that the OP has posted here since the very first post in the thread. LOL.

Whenever he does b+mp as anti air, it always puts them in a juggle state, it never does this with me. Maybe once every 10 matches or so. Do you have to CD after b+mp anti air for it to “juggle”?

Make sure you’re getting the 2 hit version of B+MP. Now, command dash after the 1st hit.

Thanks.

Yeah it’s only the early frames of b+MP that give u the juggle state. Basically time your b+MP as late as possible so the chances of u landing the first hit of the b+MP are better.

slide to st. jab is tough as hell to pull off consistently

it is :shake: what I like to do is slide -> st.lp -> slide > grab.

Slide , F + LK should be more consistent. Plink it with MP. Plink with HP if you use pad.

Something to keep in mind is that blocked slide is MUCH less safe than slide on hitI. So even if you are spaced so you could combo on hit, you’re likely disadvantaged on block. I believe the difference is 6 frames, which is huge. I used to be mad when I got mashed out on block, but now I get why I could never win in that situation. lol…

Thanks Philly for the vids your ibuki is sick!

The difference is 5 frames.
