The Shinobi Secrets: Ibuki Video Thread

I like those meaty cross ups you do after a knockdown. Or are they really cross ups?

what do you input to do them?( i cant really make out the inputs)
Is it as safe as you make it out to be?

I am still testing this out currently. It is very hard to test. I am almost certain that it is a cross up or at the very least that some are. Otherwise the opponent would just block back the whole time.

If you watch this video, then you will notice that at 1:10 I do a very tiny jump into kunai and go right over Cody’s head as he does a criminal upper reversal.

Also although I show you a certain height with the vortex, if you use mk tsumiji and lk dash, then you can actually get to a higher height while still engaging in the vortex. Also although in these videos I just use the same dash into the same kunai attack, you could also do the dash into another dash and recover before they do upon wakeup, for w/e you like which is much safer, and varies your attack, making it much more difficult to defend against.

I apologize for the bad sound quality.

Ya, I have not gotten it in my head yet to stop for a second after the mp. working on it though since it is the only real way i can hit TC6->ultra

I have been using SJ mk but SJ Fierce looks more useful. Finish your testing and then post your results.

Deleted original my post and remade the video…

i just press lp, mp, mp, hp, when i want the 2 hit mp one. and lp, mp, hp when i want the 1 hit one (need this vs a bunch of characters when they are crouching as the 2nd hit of mp will whiff if you aren’t at point blank range)

@bbq sauce- Looks like it can be a nice safe jump setup after a back throw. Now all I need are some follow up options after raida.

i’ll be back with more vids by friday…ive just been so busy with finals and my sis having a baby (I’m finally an uncle!) that i left my ps3 and 360 at home for the week but ill be going back home thursday and finally get to play on my stick!

My Ibuki

Here are a couple of my Ibuki Matches. I think I’ve gotten better with using her, I’ll upload new videos sometime tonight.

DevilJin - You may not be able to effectively meaty someone but standing over a downed opponent and whiffing a couple crouching jabs is still a nice way to bait people… they can throw you for free but if they do that then you can actually meaty them next time and take a combo. I am a big fan of dashing at people to bait stuff tho… I just wish it could build meter

KK - You want to rethink some of your wakeup options. Kazekiri is really unsafe and Tsumuji is hard to hit confirm by itself. From up close you can use a low jab to meaty instead of Kazekiri and that can lead to tick throw setups and block strings as well as combos if someone attacks. From a distance where you were using Tsumuji using crMP into Tsumuji is just as effective, keeps distance and is much easier to hit confirm into the sweep because you get to watch the MP for the hit and get that long ass Tsumuji startup added to the time to confirm it. That sweep is an untechable knockdown and leads to more knockdown mixups so hit confirming into it instead of the ender that leaves people standing can be one of her best ways to start offense from midrange footsies.

clHK gives Kazegiri on all hits Ive seen… go for it. Its also useful against juri after she does divekick combo because if she happens to be spaced where you cant easily take a combo far HK still tags her… Also the easiest DP punish ever because you still get full damage from air hits with LK Kaze

I was looking for a dashio’s ibuki replay but I cant find it

his gamertag on xbla is OWATA IKUO

I think that is Daigo there as well seriously. Yea Gameinn is Daigo. ppl probably already knew this though.
I am slow as usual on info.

This chun i play regularly, aside from execution and timing problems, what should i be doing differently.

Low block after he hits you with those j.LK resets in the air. He shouldn’t be getting free damage off obvious mash shorts after an air to air situation. Learn to use your kunai vortex pressure and j.LK cross up pressure after you knock him down with a sweep or HP neckbreaker. Don’t press buttons when Chun Li knocks u down and does the df+HK command flip. Stop backdashing and mashing ultra and shit and just block it out and wait for an opening. Use level 1 or level 2 focus attack to bait and beat sweeps. Learn to use your s.LP and c.LP to combo into HP neck breaker for setups into cross ups and vortex. When u hit someone with a kunai or jump in cross up just combo into close LP, MP, HP target chain. Don’t know why you’re doing that s.MP to sweep stuff.

Impressive.

Whats the s.lp c.lp combo into hp neckbreaker, and what are the frame traps for u1?

Here’s mine

Please be kind, I only need advice on spacing and pressuring (whether I’m not pressing enough etc.).
I’ve spent literally no time in training yet but will get to do so this week, so expect much better play in my videos soon (already found out what ultra doesn’t beat and have stopped all those neckbreakers) :nunchuck:

Would using her MK spin kicks be a better option selected move?

Alright fellow Ibuki fans! I got more vids here…

[IB vs JU]

[IB vs DU]

[IB vs IB] I’m the red one!

[IB vs VE] w00t double perfect lol

All in all I didn’t do too well… I gotta remember to hit confirm my damn vortexes on blocks so I don’t throw out a neck breaker when I shouldn’t. Anyways more videos when I get the chance. Please take the time to watch them and throw me some feedback. Thanks guys!
