The Shinobi Secrets: Ibuki Video Thread

When I get my Sako stick, I’ll be able to play all of you guys as I [S]work on[/S]… cough
I’m blessed with a place to stay in Japan too =)

Last but not least. Anyway WHITE GUN v2 is a fun guy, he doesn’t take the game anywhere near as seriously as most of the people here, he plays just to… play.

I’ve played WhiteGun’s Ryu a few times in the last 2 weeks. He’s pretty good.

My local Ken beat WHITE GUN v2 even though he got hit by a lot of unblockables which he just found out about them after I told him. He said he got lucky though.

Online or offline?

If online then cool story bro.
Else if offline then vids or gtfo.

Online, yeah don’t really mean anything, but it was a bit funny to see him get frustrated by unblockables.

Online and Arcades aren’t too different in Japan, and offline in London is known to be laggier thanks to WSO’s set-up.
I’m certain that because WHITE GUN v2 plays a lot of Online he’s more comfortable on it.

I might go to Chicago next Summer.

So stop by New York then =)

Yo guys,

Here are the matches i recorded at Summer Jam, featuring myself, for those who are interested:

**vs WeirdoNeo: **(sorry for the video quality… My friend had a good idea: taking my phone vertically)

vs Vangief: this is an actual tournament match, something like loosers quarterfinals (and i’m still salty at how I lost it u_u )

vs Wolfkrone: A few interesting matches here although my friend decided to film it with zoom enabled :frowning:

That’s all =)

I really like the way you played against Vangief. I think you deserved that match but a couple of mistakes are enough to lose against gief. Even if he didn´t play well, he just need a little more than a couple of SPD´s per round to beat Ibuki in this match up.
Great spacing anyways, you landed cr.mp OS neckbreaker with great accuracy when he tried to walk in and did a great job on his wake up, he didn´t block almost none of your set ups.

PS: You should show to your friend a tutorial about how to record with a mobile phone, what a mess!! xD

I actually thought you had that zangief match, you were running him over with set-ups that he coulden’t handle. Although I think during that match you got really excited; but then started to make mistakes during that final round. Then it made you a little unsure and you rushed in the end. It has to be the mistakes that you made that you coulden’t recover, or he eventually adapted to your style. Yes you got hit by the ultra but you’re not dead, it’s not over until it says KO.

Huh… I think I remembered somthing. I think it was set-ups in corners that are ambiguous. Actually I don’t know too many set-ups in the corner now that I think about it after a raida or tsumuji. Well actually ones that are ambiguous. I saw that cr.hk in that c.viper match, what was that?
(Iyo’s kunai setup in corner ftw)

@Balthier:
Yeah next time I’ll make sure they can actually film a match :stuck_out_tongue:

@RedCaliburn:
Iyo’s corner setup > all
He actually completely changed his gameplay in the middle of the match and… I didn’t adapt. And I got impatient (cf this stupid neckbreaker trying to punish his focus…) => TEH LOOSE.
About corner setups, I know a lot of them but I just end up using Iyo’s setup xD
Raida - cr.HK - j.MK is a fake crossup on some characters, I saw Sako using it, but I was too lazy to try it in training lol. It is safe anyway, that’s why I use it.
Otherwise you got Raida - fwd dash - whiff cr.LK (or cr.LP according to characters) - j.LK which is a fake crossup on some characters such as Ryu or Rufus. I still have to do this on all the cast to check on which characters does it work =)
You also have the Makoto unblockable, MKcd - SJ.MK, but I never use it except when I’m playing a Makoto ^^

What actually frustreted me in this match is that I missed all of my OS. I’m still bad at OS’ing when I crossup and I’m trying to fix that asap, can’t afford to let a Zangief out!

They are all in the guide (barring the character specific unblockables). Iyo first started whiffing far.st.HP because no other Ibuki did. If you all start using it eventually no one will fall for it. That’s why you see Sako whiff a Neckbreaker sometimes, no one else does (including his strange Anti-air set-up comboing j.HK).

Omg Damascus your match against Vangief, the final SPD range was ridiculously huge. I guess because you whiffed stand lp and the hitbox on that is quite large, and Gief just grabbed your hitbox

Damn dude when Ibuki spams this stupid cr.HK st.HK combo just mash shoryuken (unless you’rein corner, in that case bock crossup) =)

Excellent example of what I think a solid Ibuki looks like:

That awkward feeling when you dash up and try to do low cr.lk and it whiffs. Lol

Playing lame and boring with a non fireball character is something I haven’t really gotten down yet. I get so bored and sleepy playing Ibuki in this extremely turtley and defensive playstyle even though it is the correct and smart way to play it.
