The Shinobi Secrets: Ibuki Video Thread

SSF4 -CriticlBeatDown [IB] vs eltwopee [DJ]

So far the only strategies I have against Dudley are s.LP, c.HK (since they both seem to hurt Dudley bad) and then just vortex all day once you land your first knockdown. I didn’t realize HAV was using Dudley though. Being in the corner against Dudley seems like it will be a nightmare pretty soon. Block high or low the wrong way and u lose.

Basically it’s one of the many benefits of utilizing the Replay Channel in SSF4.

Shizza vs. Jayce The Ace aka Baby Uryo using Ibuki in some of the matches.

Ok so i have decided to play ibuki full time.

Nice, and entertaining. Thank you for that contribution.

I can tell shizza was some what getting use to Ibuki, though he played extremely solidly with her. But once the timing on Ibuki’s vortex is mastered, and the footsie’s game (that match will be a wrap- Guy was just counter attacking Ibuki for the most part, and that’s what hurt her.

Yeah Guy so far seems to have a superior footsie game to Ibuki and he has a clear escape out of the vortex with EX hurricane. Which isn’t really all that bad since EX hurricane u can just safe jump with a normal jump in and that easily punish and go for vortex again or just keep forcing regular jumps on him until he runs out of meter or decides to just block.

Can’t Guy EX Run on wake up as well to avoid Ibuki’s vortex?

EX Run at least 1 or 2 start up frames and in those frames I believe he doesn’t have armor so I don’t think that would work. It will only work against mistimed kunais. True meaty kunais should kill EX Run start up. I used meaty LP SJ kunai a lot on Skisonic who is one of the best El Fuerte’s in the country and he didn’t use EX run once to get out. He pretty much couldn’t do anything but block. The kunai just hits too meaty and the hit box has like 3 million active frames.

That Kunia is the best wake up tool ever. Really the only way you can get out of it is use a move that’s invisible on start up right? I bet there is a way to get those attempts to escape to wiff too, too many options she has. So lovely

yep, tried it out as soon as i got home. very fun to do. i only played for a few minutes on PSN. i see that you can save your replays but how do you then get them online? (say youtube) i havent looked into this at all so the answer may be simple.

Thanks DarthPaul, appreciate the time analyzing! To the lab!

none of you guys like to play a rushdown ibuki lol. i would upload videos, but my internet sucks

anyone here has some descent play of Ibuki vs Rufus? just wanna see how does it look like aa’ing or countering dive kick mix-up pressure
of course I was Cammy user and didn’t have any problem dealing dive kicks but since I droped cammy, need reliable counter for the dive kicks

Hey Philly-one, I noticed in the Dudley matchup you never really used cr.MK. It’s a great poke and can push Dudley out when he gets in too close, I had some success with it when I was playing a long set of my Ibuki versus a friend’s Dudley. Also, I think U1 is better for this match as you can punish blocked MGBs easily with it.

Oh thx for the tip

Philly remember that if you don’t have U1 stocked vs Duds punish all mgb’s with far st. lp, st. mk xx neckbreaker/tsumuji.

cr. mk rapes Dudley. So does far st. jab games/pressure.

Philly:
fantastic vids! in the Sagat matches, noticed you cancelling first hit of AA b.mp into command dash and combo-ing into raida. just wanted to give you props, hadn’t seen that yet, been using it like mad since. thanks!

try using more b+mp/cr.hp to AA predictable jumpins like in the video. (also never use neackbreaker on fullscreen except to punish. :clown:)
