From what Iâm seeing here Menat vs Guile doesnât look too good for Guile. Itâs probable that she even wins the match.
Basically Guile has to play her game. Once Menat can get the orb out near Guile itâs tough because if he tries to throw a boom and she calls the orb back he gets hit and then if he wants to throw a boom sheâs likely in position to throw the orb. The orb also clashes with and destroys the boom so you have to worry about an orb that can frame trap you from full screen that will clash out your booms. Then have to worry about a reflect sending your boom back if you even get one out. Basically Guile isnât winning this match unless he gets in and those are the matches that Guile goes even at best or loses at worst.
She can even reflect the V Skill which is his main way to start offense from a range if the regular booms arenât working. Which allows her to use the V Skill to start her own lockdown. Thatâs just way too much disrespect to the air force man.
I wouldnât bother with Guile in this match TBH. Either find a 3rd person for Menat or find a different second character that can deal with all 3 well. Ibuki does pretty well vs all 3 IMO so she wouldnât be bad.

They definitely nerfed his axe kick not to link to solar plexus. The obvious reason being that this combo probably would have been possible -
Solar plexus - Axe kick - st.lk xx donkey kick - DP juggle.
I assume that would have worked or just a straight cancel out of axe kick into donkey kick.
Aaaand that combo would be dope.
But definitely not honest.
Thatâs pretty much what I figured. I was thinking of pocket Kolin for that situation but Iâd rather just have 2 characters that I focus on.
Problem with Ibuki is as I mentioned before, set-play/mix-up style characters just donât mesh well with me at all. And I really didnât like fighting Chunâs neutral with Ibuki either.
âŚthe more I think about it, the more I think Zeku is the only character that deals with all 3 well enough (I know Windalfr likes Zeku as a good character to complement Ed). But I donât like playing Zeku eitherâŚugh.
Maybe Falke will be my savior and I can just go team Neo Shadaloo. But thatâs quite a ways away.

Yeah your best bet then is probably just use Guile any ways as the second and hold the L when Menat shows up. I mean how often are you even going to run into her?
I never see any Menats in ranked (or casual) any way and I donât play battle lounges except on request so thatâs even less likely that I would see a Menat. Iâve been grinding ranked a bit last couple days after I lost some points and the Menats are just not out there. I fought Orangemanâs Zeku (and got blown up), almost won the set vs Ultra Diamond Fang and even finding a decent amount of Ryuâs. Found all of the other DLC characters at least a few times, but Menat is just not there.
I guess that anime execution for her V Trigger is scaring a lot of people away because at this point Iâd have to find a Menat player to put on my friends list to play one. People been playing unga Rog and Laura so long that thereâs no way for them to learn range game/anime combo Menat.

Solar, Axe Kick, Donkey, DP Juggle which is pretty much corner only wouldnât be a problem at all.
Landing Solar isnât exactly common, so this is pretty much his Stun combo.
And it still works on CH, so if you want to see for yourselves that the damage isnât world-breaking, test it in AE.
Wouldnât Ryu just be able to use cr.hp and cancel into DK instead? Is the link to s.lk really that big of a deal?
Also Volt Iâm pretty sure solar plexus doesnât benefit from landing as a CH.
F.hp, cr.hp doesnât work unless you hit it really close

But yeah axe kick is probably nerfed because even tho its ex that combo exceeds non Abagail damage figures.
