On a different note, Iāve been thinking about that list I put together in regards to what characters to pick alongside Ed.
And Iāve been thinking that Iāve been approaching it the wrong way.
Iāve been looking at characters that complement my styleā¦but thatās just characters that have either similar gameplans to Ed. I donāt think it results in a pair of characters that deal with each others match-ups well, instead leading to using two characters that donāt play as well against the same group of characters.
Right now, while granted it may be in large part due to my own incompetence at the game, I feel Edās weakest match-ups are the ones against characters who can play the neutral really well with strong buttons; Karin, Menat, and Chun-li. Ed can fight them for sure but itās not the most comfortable spot for him. So I should look for a character that can counter that style or at least compete more comfortably against it, while still being a character I can mesh with.
The closest idea at the time was Zeku, but I really hate having to change stances to access certain moves I want and I really, really donāt like Young Zeku. As much as I donāt like playing charge characters Iām wondering if perhaps I should go back to trying Guile. I think he does well against Karin and Chun and it doesnāt look like he got hit too hard in S3 (although losing Bazooka Knee pressure is pretty harsh). My only concern is that I have no idea how the Guile/Menat match-up is.
