Daigo said that he prepared for #kemonomichi by training young Akuma players (Otani and Rinta), and taught everything about the match up to them.
Then he played nothing but vs Akuma since around the start of March, knowing that he might not be ready for Final Round.
That’s the most anime ass training I’ve ever heard of. These guys train harder vs each other than they do vs a potential 2200 other people at Evo. Money can’t do that.

I feel you should poke with your normals more? Not just qcf+P for ranged attacks.
When poking, don’t just st HP (even if it very satisfying to land one) but mix in stand MP too. Use st LP to feint and if your opponent jumps, antiair with cr HP / st HK / EX DP depending on the range and how much reaction time you have.
TL;DR: Mix up zoning with normals and zoning with orb send / recall specials to make your Menat harder to figure out.

From what I am seeing, EVO is early August…
If there ought to be a few SRK people there, I will be tempted to try to make it work, even if only to just visit Vegas and EVO rather than playing.
And to take care of other business as well. Something to consider.
That is pretty much how I worked this out (visiting Vegas that is). My sister in law has never been to Vegas and my wife wanted to get her out there so we were able to finagle the dates to line up. So I get to go off and nerd out while they Vegas it up.
Biggest downside is that July/August is a miserable time to go to Vegas. At least the plan is to spend most of the time indoors.

How the hell are you suppose to fight Kolin in the neutral? Her s.hp is 8f, is a CC, and has an amazing hitbox.
With which character? Do you have a button with more range than s.hp? Kolin s.hk and b.hk would be her counter for buttons with more reach than s.hp but s.hk does not hit crouching opponents and b.hk is pretty slow even though it starts up 1F faster in season 3.
Yeah the trick though is that we’re not staying at the same hotel so I’m gonna have to skitter across the hotplate that is Vegas sidewalk that time of year.
We are staying close though so it shouldn’t be too bad. The first time my wife and I went out to Vegas (right around the same time of year now that I think of it) we stayed at the Stratosphere to save $$$. Sounded like a great plan on paper but it was far from everything so you couldn’t go anywhere without melting.
I’ve been to Vegas enough times where you can surprisingly get lucky days in Vegas where it rains and stays a nice cool 80 something degrees. That’s the one place you go to hoping it rains. If you catch a rain, then you can walk around like it’s Cali and actually enjoy the bullshitting between different casinos and restaurants. They don’t have hard rains down there so you can basically stand in the rain. If you get lucky.
If it’s not raining, then yeah you basically have to run your ass off from place to place (not including calling uber). I remember back in 2007 walking from Green Valley Ranch hotel to the Whole Foods down the road to get drinks and snacks and that felt like a desert scene in a movie. I do better with hot weather than cold weather regardless so I toughed it out.
Oh and for those that aren’t getting Penthouse suites and eating at Fogo De Chao every night, remember there’s a Chipotle not too too far away from Mandalay. I know one big complaint people have about going to Vegas for first time is that even the basic ass fast food at the casinos is expensive as hell. You’ll definitely be out a 100 to 200 dollars at the minimum if you only eat casino food between the fast foods and the buffets. Especially if you’re staying 4 or more days.
Luckily there’s a Chipotle about a 50 minute walk down from the hotel if you can catch a day where it’s not blazing hot to walk.
You can always plan a trip and call an uber and bring 2/3 other people with you. They can pay you cash on the side. If you dont mind getting a hotel close to the Caesars Palace that basically allows you to walk to Chipotle. That way you only need to hitch rides to the venue and ensure you can go Cheap Pete on food. There’s also a cool Mexican spot just a bit further up the road from Chipotle called Tacos El Gordo. Can get 2 dollar tacos with fresh fruit drinks and pickled peppers and vegetables.
That’s why Uber is a good deal now cuz you can buddy up with 2 or 3 people willing to chip in for rides and get AC cooling to wherever you wanna go in minutes.

I just survive off of a diet of Johnny Rockets (there’s one in the Mandalay hotel) and water the entire weekend. One burger and an order of fries lasts me the whole day.
Don’t know why but I always feel less hungry on trips. Like I only ate breakfast and then got another order of food when evening rolled around and I couldn’t finish it 'cause I felt full, even though breakfast was the only meal I got. Makes no sense but it saves me a bit of cash on meals, so eh.
