While i liked the B.Panther movie, i find it to be mad overhyped. Especially the villain who was alright until he had to get cartoonshily evil . Dont click on the spoiler if you haven’t seen it.
[details=Spoiler]The setup for the villain is almost an exaxt replica of Hela in Thor Ragnarock which i find a bit weird.
I will say that Wakanda and tbe supporting cast were nice. The growth of BP as a king was well done but the villain is easily (especially after he becomes King and just want to fuck everyone ) was the worst part of the movie for me.
It is one of the better MCU movies in recent memory though but still mad overhyped imo[/details]
Karin’s probably the 2nd hardest entry barrier, casuals struggle with her execution. JFT is easy for us but a beginner struggles with it, no safe blockstring enders to get through mashing, anti-air game still isn’t “one for all”, rough against fireballs if you can’t use her tools to get around them, reliant on one-hit confirms. Karin doesn’t get shit without high level strat application.
I thought he was too. That breakdown was real. I mean she’s solid now, but even with the buffs it’s rough when the usual suspects still give her rough matches and then you got old/new Unga bungs running around. GL to him if he’s still gonna play her. I mean they threw enough 3S Chun in her where you get to see her played vicariously
They invested too much time on Chun to get rid of her completely, but if they want to stay relevant in the CPT they need a backup to fight her bad matchups. You remember MOV vs Daigo at EVO Japan? That was frustrating.
She’s better overall, but some characters were improved even further to a point she can’t do anything against them. Guile, Menat, probably Rashid are just the first coming in mind. I don’t think it’s possible to win a CPT stacked tournament with her only, but I can extend this thing to almost every character, maybe only Rashid and Akuma don’t have really bad MU atm. We’re going to live a counterpick year, especially because 3.5 ain’t going to happen.
If you’re a sponsored Chun main and want to actually get 1st place at a CPT event, you have no business not having a side character. Any Chun that isn’t picking up a side character is not going to see many 1st places at regionals. She’s not like Guile, Karin, Rashid, Ibuki or Birdie where she can tough it out through her bad matches and gain quick momentum in a good spot to win. Her bad matches are the really bad risk/reward stuff that will keep you out of a 1st place win.
Plus generally any character that struggles with fireballs in this game is not going to have a lot of top finishes. You gotta have ways to shit on them to be top as characters with solid to great fireballs like Urien, Akuma and Guile are rounding up the top spots. Characters that are played by a good amount of sponsored players. Those characters are strong even if you can shit on their fireballs and you don’t wanna be at further deficit playing a character that has to play honestly vs their fireballs.
If we define charge characters as those who have more than 50% of their special moveset as charge-based motions.
SF2: 8 out of 17 (47%) - Includes Akuma
SFA: 12 out of 33 (36%) - Includes Evil Ryu, Guile, Juni & Juli but not Ingrid, Eagle, and Yun
SF3: 2 out of 19 (10.5%) - Honorable mentions to Oro, Alex, and Q.
SF4: 9 out of 44 (20.5%) - Includes Oni and Evil Ryu
SF5: 6 out of 28 (21.5%) - Does not include S3 characters; otherwise it would be 8 out of 34 or 23.5%.
I would say that the average for every SF game is 20-25% of all characters tend to be charge characters. A minority, but no less significant than the number of females in any given SF game historically which also probably averages anywhere from 10-30% of the cast.
**Bottomline: Don’t be an asshole to minorities. Live and let live. **
