Alex received the same recovery nerf like the others grapplers, he isn’t alone. Chop being -6 doesn’t surprise me tbh,so many characters can’t punish tha overhead. Meanwhile his AA game get finally fixed and the best move he had get buffed (isn’t +4 oB,but having 4f active isn’t bad either). Consider those adjustments into the game big picture, none of the low tiers get buffed into the milky way.

And the timer got buffed too. Not to mention Juri has a VS TC. She may get three shots depending on how she’s playing the matchup.

Chun didn’t get as buffed as I thought, pretty minor adjustments.

But chaining moves won’t end her VT in like 2 combos. Blocking that will be hard.

You see now that she lost her crouching grab loop, her v trigger confirms do less damage, her command grabs have more recovery, her st.MP has more pushback on hit so her clap combos are even more inconsistent/non-existent, her 2 best jump-ins got their hitboxes adjusted, her splash got 3 more recovery frames so it’s even easier to punish and her cr.LK got more pushback on hit and block so both her confirms and tick grab setups are shittier she’ll truly get to shine!

Gief has been neutered. Lariat +5 frames of recovery, I guess 31 frames wasn’t enough already. +3 frames recovery for knee hammer is huge. Since his dash is the slowest in the game and his jump hurtbox is ridiculous, it was his best tool to close the distance in neutral. No more knee hammer followed by jab SPD. Cr. jab no longer chains and cr. short is no longer special cancellable so his combo-ability got hit too. And then there’s the command grab nerf… Oh well, Blanka won’t be long now.

If their MU will remain the same even in SFV, Sagat can stay at home. Maybe not, she had to store her fireball now. Or maybe yes if Sagat hasn’t his trademark TS.

LMAO they nerfed Vega’s VT1 damage. That and it’ll scale harder because of the universal change. Un-fucking-believable. Also the air version didn’t get the juggle change, just a slight damage/stun buff so it’s still garbage. The other two versions got the juggle buff though. But with these changes he’s still reliant on having meter to get anything from his VT since it’s so weak raw now.

Almost all of his AA normals say they can hit behind him now, even s.hk. That’s cool, but I can’t see how they accomplished that without giving them hilariously OP hitboxes.

VS is CA and VT cancelable raw and after TC’s so his max damage combos will do more damage. Not bad I guess. Also reportedly build more meter which is a solid buff.

Claw cr.hp now has 3 active frames so that’s cool. Airthrow got a damage buff. Claw TC functions the same as the clawless version now. Roll loops got clapped and universal CG nerf.

Looking at these changes, Vega got better AA’s (controversial opinion but he didn’t need this), V-meter gain, and max damage combos, but his offense is super weak now. He lost his loop, weak to non-existant traps, and no mixups outside of tic command grabs, fake EX.FBA pressure, and VT2 VTC’s oB.

I think the idea is that AA buffs will force players to stay grounded more against a Vega that will have access to his VT1 more, giving him cancels from his buttons. But looking at these changes VT2 will be better imo.

Looks to be a net buff, but none of his problems got addressed and honestly the changes themselves are just boring. I’m also inclined to think this isn’t final myself.

Ibuki got berfed. She lost some derp, but gained what I see as overall better fundamentals and more options to honestly frame trap. They didn’t nerf f+HK at all which is hilarious as I wouldn’t have minded that going down to minus 4 on block. Oh well keep the unga you deserve.

Are you seeing what Fang got? he has a V-Trigger now and his damage got slightly increased which is actually very good. If the hurtbox and hitbox changes are good, then Fang may be able to punish -4 situations with something more than a jab. Sure, I wanted his st.Lk to be back to 5 frames and his ex.Sotoja to be combable from light attacks but at least Fang was not nerfed like what happened in S02 and they are actively looking at improving his V-System.
