Actually, the Alex changes donât seem so bad. Only l.powerbomb lost stun, the other versions gained stun along with damage buff. The whiff recovery nerf seems to be universal for all traditional command throws, so not great but not Alex specific either, and other command throws donât seem to have gotten the compensation buffs that Alex got. Kind of a net gain for Alex relative to the other grapplers.
The change that has me wondering is the distance change on c.hp 2nd hit. Wonder if that messes with the follow-up options mid-screen.
Other than that though, Alex mostly looks like better AAs, slightly more damage/stun from PB, and easier links from f.hp/s.mp/ch s.mp. Not world changing by themselves, but add in the oki from VT2 and the net nerfs that seem to have gone around for the better characters and Alex starts to look pretty serviceable.
⢠Gauge depletion from every version of Fuharenkyaku has been increased.
You get less use out of it, but if you manage your v-skill properly in order to build the trigger faster, you get to use it more often i suppose. We shall see.
Well, S2.5 was better in almost every way from S2, so maybe S3.5 is where itâs really at. S3 is actually the beta test of S3.5, and this accidental release of the patch notes is clearly not an accident. Capcom are monitoring our reactions.
activate
trigger hits, damage cut almost in half and now scaling even lower due to universal change
ex walldive, first part hits, uses up another chunk of scaling
then izuna
= not much more damage than before, and you have to burn a bar.
no it totally got nerfed, +10 frames recovery on whiff.
SBK damage buff is solid. Combined with +4 Air Legs means you get a bunch of meterless damage and corner carry just off baiting throws again. Plus her Trigger might actually b scary again. That is if Kikosho isnât just all around better.
I get the whole dynamic. I just think the damage nerf was too heavy handed. Especially with the universal VTC scaling. Depending on the combo length it wonât be worth it to use VT in a combo now unless you have CA. I think the weak knee movement attack of EX.FBA and the follow-up attacks scale separately.
Just a reminder to look at the overall cast before making a call on your characters tier placement next season. Some of you may be right about low/top tier but try to think S3 match ups instead of S3 vacuum changes.
Im trying to figure out the idea on these 3f jabs changes that most of the cast seems to be getting.
-More pushback on hit might take away some 3 hit confirms.
-Less pushback on block makes an easier tick throw.
-But less frame advantage means its easier for an aware opponent to jab you out of a tick throw.
Whats the overall goal here?
Also throws getting an additional active frame means meaty throw is an improved option.
