I’m not into hentai, but I might hit you up for fightstick art. Gotta think of what I’d want

Awesome man! Yeah, it’s a great game. It was my favourite FPS to come out for a long time, maybe since Turok or something.

I think I beat the campaign like 3 or 4 times, then I started playing the Arcade Mode to get high scores on the leaderboards.

Playing the campaign again is fun. You will be more efficient, die less, spend less time looking for secrets and things, and overall just rip and tear a whole lot harder.

I just ranked it as my favourite shooter ever, even more than Black Ops 2 which I competed in almost a decade ago. I was 10 at the time! Nostalgia factor lost to DOOM, that’s how powerful it is. It’s unlikely I’ll play the campaign again, but Arcade sounds like a blast. The environment design in DOOM is great, but the constant changes between going indoors and outdoors into either caves or labs is just too repetitive to warrant a second playthrough. The best parts are the arenas, which are already available in Arcade. I will say though, the repetitive nature of the environments are only jarring from a narrative point, and are beautiful otherwise. 9/10 shooter.

I know you’re not so keen on jumping between decimated office towers in Eternal, but they really stepped up the variety of the levels. There’s a couple of Hell levels, an awesome level on Mars, noticeably different locations on Earth, and some other places.

They also did a better job with the pacing. The last third of 2016 gets very repetitive IMO, but Eternal did well to keep it fresh right until the end.

I also prefer the gameplay of Eternal more, but I will say that you don’t (at least I didn’t) really appreciate it on your first playthrough. It wasn’t until my second where I really got a better idea for how you’re supposed to play and how to rip through the arenas quicker and easier. The gameplay is actually pretty different than 2016 though (and a lot of other FPS’s I’ve experienced) which is why it took longer for me to understand it. There are definitely people that prefer 2016’s gameplay though.

And sorry, I realize this is probably enticing you to buy it more, lol. Its been out for a while though, it should be going on sale anytime.

Ok I know I mentioned my distaste for cities, but now all that looks far more interesting than it did before. I’m really excited for Christmas sales if I can afford it then. Also, on Eternal, I’m told it has double the bosses of 2016, which is awesome. The last one really fell flat, but the other 2 were so fun, so I’m excited to kill Demon Gulliver back on Earth.

Also award for the best credit roll goes to 2016. Finally, we see what happens to Doomguy on that pile of demons (spoiler, he kills them all).

I don’t know if it has double the bosses. I would say it has 4 and a half bosses. The half being someone that is setup as a boss fight, but it isn’t quite.

There are definitely more demons though and the bigger, badder ones that come in later, seem like mini boss fights.

Also, I probably shouldn’t spoil it, but the credits aren’t as good in Eternal, but I did really like the final boss fight. I also agree with 2016’s boss. It felt like it could have ended on a better note.

Really? I was told there are 6. Anyways, more bosses is not a bad thing. And really? Eternal has a better credit roll? Goddamn, man.

No, sorry, i meant 2016 had a better credit roll.

Oh I see. It is a high bar to pass. I actually had a friend send over Doom 1 and 2, so I might play those because they also seem really awesome.

Yeah, most people are on PS4 and a bunch are on PC. There might actually be more on PC since it has such good performance there.

I play on PC.

They’re fun! A different kind of fun, but still a lot of fun. You may appreciate Eternal more if you’ve beaten Doom 2.

Oh yeah, from what I understand, Doom 2 is set on Earth, isn’t it? New perspectives abound.

It starts on Earth (if I recall) but moves around. TBH, they’re both great games.

Personally, I feel Doom 1 has better maps and OST, but Doom 2 has bigger maps, more textures, more enemies, and the Super Shotgun, which I love. Because of the SSG and added enemies, I prefer Doom 2, but don’t sleep on Doom 1 - its levels are legendary.

For sure. I never got into DOOM until painfully recently, and even I know about Hangar. I just hope the versions I get are visually high quality and not compressed rubbish.

The first one has the Super Shotgun too. It’s just missing the grapple hook.

Honestly, I feel Eternal is a much bigger and better game overall, but it lost some of the Heavy metal seriousness from the first game that I really, really dug back in 2016. I mean goddamn, 2016 had you enter the corpse of a giant demon lord and it was a whole ass level. I just really appreciated the tone of the first game. Nothing beats the atmosphere of an emptied out science lab covered in blood and Guts.

Eternal has more of an arcadey, self aware tone but I also dug that a lot too.

Since we are on different game topic i suggest you give Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order a shot , it’s quite a cool game. Great level design and fun combat.

I’ll pick up Star Souls: Dark Fallen Jedi Order eventually. I keep forgetting that game released but it looks pretty cool now that they’ve patched most of the bullshit out.
