Game is a bust and I’m suddenly really happy no one here wanted to play with me so I didn’t bought it.
I’ve gathered that they buried everyone more or less. Saw a tweet showing Ladiva has a ton of her tools completely gutted.
Glad i didn’t pick that game up, cause this new season looks like it’s gonna be rough
Anyone else feel like KoF has a “too many cool characters” problem?
That game gives me decision making fatigue every time I look at the character select screen cause 3/4 of the cast looks super dope lol
EDIT: DOUBLE POST! EVIL CANADIAN HERE I COOOOME!!!
there’s no such thing as too many characters. Unless you’re a developer who has to balance all that shit
GBVS balancing went fucking south and I no longer enjoy it.
I do think SFV has too many. 3rd Strike and ST have nice balances for their game, though in the case for 3rd Strike I wouldn’t have minded an even 20. When @The_Shakunetsu brought this up some months back you guys might recall I said that the perfect amount of characters is 20.
I guess I’m fine with a huge roster, but inevitably most of the players end up only playing 20 characters anyway.
especially if the game has multiple shotos. Everyone loves playing shotos cause they’re fun as hell and a generally friendly and easy to manage learning curve
I believe in a 16 starting roster + anywhere between 4-6 DLC chars per year.
Unless you pick up the game several years after release, you don’t really need to learn a ton of MUs at once and of course, while it depends on the game, you don’t really have a lot of super specific stuff to know.
If devs worked better on visual clarity and sound design, a lot of the issues with big rosters wouldn’t really exist.
Like, SFV has a ton of moves that you can’t tell whether or not are unsafe unless you check their frame data.
This is straight up bad design imo. You need to be able to recognize that with hitsparks, hitstop, hitstun and sound.
Maybe that’s my issue. I don’t know what’s going on because I’m expected to know frame data for 40 characters all at once.
Don’t rush it.
Work on your FD first and learn MUs as you play them.
A bunch of them are really irrelevant, like the FANG one. No one plays that shit.
Man I just wanna play a game with parries. Cammy mains suffer all day.
Real talk, you might’ve gotten a bit too attached to them at this point.
Let go of that crutch!
It’s not a crutch because they fail me every time .
Like hell they do.
1 match with that wackass Ken without parries in 3S against me and I’ll double perfect you.
Your jumps are hella fraudulent and you know it.
This is what I’m talking about. I feel bad for the people that put in thousands of manhours creating and refining these characters.
Weird thing is, Rashid makes up less that one percent of the player base lol so I guess it doesn’t have to do with tier placement.
Oh word? Pull up today then. 6pm EST?
I’m on WiFi.
Unlike you, I don’t subject people to cruel and unusual punishment.
BAHAHAH…
That’s good. Still down though . Up to you.
It’s hit and miss really. You can’t expect all characters to be super popular.
On the other hand, they can just stay in that game and not come back. Like Fuerte. He must never be seen again. Ever.
Well time to become a Ferry Main.
I will get back into the game, after I’m bored with Melty.
So either never or somewhere the next 1-4 years.
