I do think Beerus is hella underrated tho. He’s got some really strong stuff that nobody pays attention to because he was so bad back in Season 1. That 2M is sick, his DP is good and he has one of the best assists in the game with it, orb setups are easier and scarier now, one of the most damaging level 3’s in the game, he’s got a level 2, ect.
But yeah, he’s effort, so most of the DBF community still gonna call him complete trash.
17 is one of those chars that sounds good on paper, but due his fundamental flaws in design he gets hold back.
Also, i dont really feel that Beerus is that legit, since his main gameplan is still kind of ass.
Most of the buffs have been on areas that dont adress his real problems.
So they are left on this weird position where they have good potential, but you need to put a lot of effort for something that can be achieved more easily by playing other chars.
And like Martian said, one player winning with a char doesnt translate with the character being good.
We have seen plenty of examples of players winning with bad chars on multiple games, but that mostly speaks of the player than the char.
And yes, i know, it sounds like i am downplaying the chars, but i feel that there is a reason why despite all the buffs they get they are relegated to the back seat most of the time.
I think that you only need some little buffs on minor key areas to make them actually feel more complete.
Yet so far, it seems that they want to play around those problems rather than actually adressing them.
Eh… if any character is consistent at high level play, they have tools that can compete in the meta. Haven’t really seen any gogetas being consistent in high level play, so I would not consider him good unless I’m missing someone
I’d pretty much agree with this list with a few caveats.
Base Goku could be lower, and Bardock could be higher. I also think people are starting to see a lot of Vegito’s strengths this season, personally I’d move him up a bracket too.
Cooler is one of those underrated dudes. Most people agree he’s hella solid but nobody ever plays him.
Even with the top 5 in this game being a little oppressive, it’s definitely more balanced than it’s ever been. More teams and strategies in general work because Season 3 added so much with assists and the balance changes.
Game overall is just a lot bigger and better than it was at launch.
Yea, I went back and forth for bardocks position but actually not sure if he is as good as the top. Though his b assist might push him up there. Also curious how ui goku will look offline.
Base goku is a pretty crazy anchor now and still has a really good block stun assist so I would probably keep him in that spot.
Played rank earlier today. Won 8, lost 3. I’ll see about trying to get out of silver. No promises though. Hell I should try on PS4. I’m slightly higher ranked there…nah. I avoid playing on PS4 unless I have to at this point.
Jiren and Beerus basically didn’t get anything, so Jiren will continue to not exist as far as anything competitive is concerned bar Sonicfox picking him up as a meme

Body proportions are wrong, not really all that strong, dramatic finish got completely changed, assists are kinda ass, doesn’t have a Full Power install
