Right, I’m no beginner to Street Fighter I’m just a beginner when it comes to sticks.
Since mine is the MadCatz SE it’s square gate and i’m having a ton of trouble pulling off any kind of qbc/qfc motion properly. Does anyone have any tips they can give me to make the moves come out more consistantly?
Hey all, I’m new (to the forums anyway). Maining Gouken.
Was thinking of getting a fight stick (UK) for teh game. Does anyone have any recommendations ? Considering I’m quite used to playing with the joypad now, as annoyingly difficult as it is) and can pull of most of his combo’s including teh harder juggle ones with relative ease now in fights. I just need a lot more practise. Will getting the fight stick be easier to control and how long will it take to adjust to it ?
Any Stick talk goes in Tech Talk, for future reference. Chances are they are better at answering those types of questions
Every pro will tell you stick is better. I play on the 360 controller and do decently. If I had a strick, yea maybe my execution would be better. But more often than not if you arent hitting your links or combos, its you and not your equipment
Is it possible to be proficient with a charge character without using a stick? I have a fightpad and seem to have a difficult time executing a lot of the charge moves.
Anything is possible on a pad as Crix, the marvel player has demonstrated by his evo results. But that being said, almost everything is easier on a stick, which is why if you plan to take SF or any fighting game seriously, you should buy one.
A madcatz SE modded w/ sanwa parts is a little over $100 and well worth it since it’s the only stick you’ll ever need.
Charge charcters in Sf4 are way easier to play with a stick since the square gate cheats for you. Charge characters are the only characters you should follow the gate with tho. qcf, hcf and 360’s should never follow the gate and you should literally pretend it’s not there. That’s why people who switch to square have a hard time adjusting until they realize this.
Is there a list out there somewhere that has data on the width of character hitboxes? For instance in 3S we would group certain characters together because they shared the same hitbox attributes. (Dudley’s c.RH Juggles, Necro Stun Juggles, etc)
Basically I’m looking for a list of how fat characters are :lovin:
Something along the lines of:
I keep reading that this game is very turtle friendly but is this the opinion shared by the more competitive and knowledgeable side of the player-base as well?
The reason i ask is on occasion i come up against people who use the focus attack and it’s quick dash into block-strings or throws to create what looks like a very seamless rush-down game and frankly it looks damn impressive to see them “flow” like this as they attack and it’s something i’d like to add to the rest of my game.
If i’m overly defensive players who can use this effectively against me often control the pace of the match, the quick focus tends to trade and crumple if i poke and if i hesitate i’m put into a block-string or throw mix-up
C Vipers, Ken’s and Cammy’s are the characters i’ve found this “rushdown” with the focus attack to be the most impressive and frankly i don’t mind losing to that style at all (nor any other really, turtling, zoning…etc).
To me, it looks like this is the answer to cracking the turtle shells and maintains the balance between attack and defence.
Is this something better players will use often or only something that can beat down players with similar (non-tournament) experience like me? :looney:
We’ll see how this playstyle works for me in tournaments as soon as I feel more comfortable with the game. I haven’t met many true RTSD people in SF4 (online or off) besides the occasional jab spamming Boxer =\ So maybe this unorthodox playstyle will net me some wins =)
i tried searching this but nothing came up, so i’ll start here.
does anyone have frame stats on tech rolling?
startup, invulnerable, vulnerable, recovery?
