Can someone make a video on partition charging pls. With timing details and stuff cus man that is hard to do in SF4.
In SFIV, what is the mathematics behind battle points?
I know you get more if you defeat someone with more than you and less if they have less etc but what is the actual maths behind it? 5%, 6% of their overall BPs or something different than that or random? Just curious!!!
Thanks
There is no Charge Partitioning in SF4
Ok guys, I looked through the FAQ, the noob thread, and used the search feature. I cannot for the life of me find a definition of “BnB combo.” Can someone please enlighten me?
Bread and Butter
It means somthing essential to the character.
As in a combo you MUST be able to do to play that character, or a combo that is really good so everyone should do it.
BnB combos are usuallly meterless and are easy to hit confirm
Gotcha. So for a Shoto, j.HK, c.MK -> QCF + HP? Etc etc.
Thanks for the info!
Actually im pretty sure that Ryu’s BnB is something like
Cross up kick, c.lp c.lk c.fp -> hurricane kick
And Ken’s is
Cross up mk, MP, HP, SHORYUKEN!
but sounds like you get the point
Ya I get ya. Thanks again!
Ok so I got some combos down, FADC into whatever, etc. However, I still don’t know when is the best time to just do a FA. Sometimes I try to FA when my opponent is jumping at me, but most of the time I absorb their j.HK or whatever and proceed to get pwned by some jabs.
So what’s the better usage of FA?
Well the whole point of that post was to ask if my thumb would be damaged in that time span…
Easy FA use is to soak up fireballs or other move that you can dash into safety from. But you have the right idea about using it on jumping in opponents, it just takes strict timing to get your hit. It all depends on the matchup and FA range, though, so be careful on who you try it with. Also, learn what moves break the armor so you can use it to punish moves with bad recovery. Conversely, memorize when NOT to use it.
what is ‘‘xx’’ symbolize? in the first post it said cancel, does it mean FADC?
Nah, that’s just a normal cancel. If you take Ryu/Ken’s cr.MK xx fireball you’ll see that when people do it the animation of the cr.MK never finishes, it gets cancelled into the fireball animation. If you wait until the cr.MK animation is finished and then link a fireball afterwards it won’t combo.
Whatever feels comfortable is what you should use.
Using your thumb is quite normal.
Hello, I am brand new to this game I’ve played a couple times at my friends house and am currently getting my Xbox fixed. I’m pumped to start playing in a week if anybody has any good advice or sees anything useful for me private message me.
Thanks
how exactly is a normal cancel done?
Hey guys.
I picked up a copy of the game yesterday and have been getting my ass kicked. I know it is all practice but there are basic things I just can’t do. For example using the dpad, always gets me. The stick is terrible for me too, so I’m thinking of ATTEMPTING to get my hands on a fightstick - from the UK, so it’s terrible.
I’ve been trying the Ryu trials, but I’m stuck on the thrid one. I don’t get how you can heavy kick into a focus attack that quickly, it just won’t let me. I did it once, then when it came to the heavy punch it wouldn’t happen again. I know it’ll get much harder along the way but I can’t even do this.
Thanks
For the previous example of cr.MK xx fireball you’d do this:
:d: + :MK:, :df::r: + :HP:
Which basically means do the fireball motion normally but push MK at the beginning while you’re holding down. The button presses will be done in quite quick succession.
Don’t get disheartened if you’re finding the trials difficult. Remember that they’re not tutorials, they’re challenges meant to test your execution. There’s plenty of videos on youtube showing how it should look when done successfully and other than that’s it’s all practice, practice, practice. My advice would be to not spend too much time on them in one go as you’ll just get burnt out. You say the game is new for you so if you just play a lot you’ll be amazed how much you pick up.
thanks for clarifying, appreciate it :tup:
Thanks :).
But how can you get out of a move that quickly? I do the kick, but as soon as I hold the medium punch and kick the combo has finished. Much appriciated.
