I got a pretty noob question, is it just me or is it next to impossible to do 3 c.lp, qcf lk? I use Cammy and Rose and it is very simple to do the single c.lp then go into the qcf lk. Also I am waiting for my stick to arrive so I’m hoping its just a matter of timing or because I’m using the PS3 controller.
Sounds like you’re just messing up the timing. There’s no reason you wouldn’t be able to do that on a controller.
You can cancel the first jab into the second, but you have to link the third one if you want to cancel it into a special move.
how to cancel a move? I se it in videos but they dont tell how to do it!
Your answer is on page 7 of this thread…
…reading is fun :bgrin:
maybie someone can explain a bit better becuse I didnt understand a word what the guy was saying :bluu:
well basically you just do the two moves really close together. Pretty much just go into training mode and set the dummy to auto-block and practice. if the dummy blocks between the normal move and special move then you’ve done it wrong. I’m not sure there’s any other way to explain it …
To translate RadarTrap’s answer for you a bit…
If you hit c.LP quickly it “chains” together, in which case you can’t combo anything else after the last c.LP besides another c.LP.
If you hit c.LP at the right timing for a “link,” (slower) you are able to combo other moves afterward.
So for the combo you’re trying to do, you can go ahead and hit the first two c.LP attacks quickly, but then the third has to come out slower at just the right time in order to follow it with the QCF LK.
If this is a combo in the trials you’re trying to do, watch the youtube video demonstration to see the proper timing.

that was capcom’s first mistake. this is a console version. i don’t want an arcade port. i want a console game.

It isn’t. If you get knocked down and try to recover into a low block you can very easily be hit low before the character will go into the block. I’ve seen this happen time and time again, even when i’ve had the block command held while the character is still lying on the ground.

shotos have fast enough jump speed which combined with the reach and priority of these moves allows them a huge advantage. I’ve seen this time and time again to the point where i’m losing the will to live. There are thirty odd characters in this game and seeing this cheap tired shit over and over and over is really no longer fun.

i know this, but they are selling a game that just can’t work properly on the default controller the game is intended for. If a stick is really necessary then just release something that people can buy! I have no option but to use the default controller because there is nothing available to buy.

they haven’t. all that’s been said is to use AA moves. That’s all well and good, but it doesn’t take into account the ability to zone you into a position where you can’t use thos moves because you will be counter hit. That was the original point. It isn’t just a case of ryu/ken doing nothing but walk into position then jump at a distance i can kick them at.
I am just trying to play the game. Whether or not I suck is not the issue. Everyone has their own level of skill at this game and I have made it clear that I have never professed to be an expert or the world’s best player. I just would like to log on and have a game session that isn’t a load of repetitive tedious cheap shit. I can’t think many people would enjoy that sort of thing.
Not sure if it was covered, but has anyone bought the japanese guide for SFIV? How is it?
Could someone tell me how to practically use “double tapping” mechanics in link combos?
I saw some post and videos about how the hand looks like when they doing link combos but I failed to integrate it into my own games.
I felt no really difference between “double tapping” and pure rhythm input. I can pull them off against dummy with 50-50. But I just cannot successfully land them in a real match.
Any tips and suggestion about “double tapping” or general practice and integration of link combos are appreciated!
Nevermind: Used search function and figured it out
But since I still got a post here. Is there any way to stop Abel’s Change of Direction after the first punch hits? Ive tried FA’ing and absorbing the second punch but I cant seem to get the timing down
Is there any benefit of installing this onto the 360?
Tried it tonight and i seemed to perform better with it installed both online and offline any one else have this feeling?.. maybe i was just in the ‘zone’ im not sure
You’ll see a slightly shorter loading screen when you’re about to start a match but it’s not as big a difference as on the PS3.
I had my SFIV installed since launch day but had to take it off the HD last week to make room for something. The only reason I really want to reinstall it is so my lawnmower disc drive will be quiet again when I play–it pretty much spins constantly once you boot up the game.
Ok… You have crouching.medium punch which is down+medium punch. Then you have Hadouken, which is down -> down forward -> forward+punch. What he is saying is, mix them into one motion.
Instead of doing down+medium punch -> down -> down forward-> forward+punch
you should hit down+medium punch -> down forward -> forward+punch
And if you dont understand that then you wont probably ever get it
Wishface, I sent you a private message.
I dont see whats so bad about the 360 controller… I do just fine with it. Maybe every once in a while a move that should have come out didnt but other than that no complaints
primarily it confuses ultra inputs with shoryuken moves and the dpad is hopeless. The triggers aren’t exactly ideal either.
Then you’re not inputting it correctly. Even with a stick I sometimes pull off a srk instead of an ultra. Your comments on the dpad and triggers are valid though.
Where can i read/see/watch more about this ‘crossup’
I assume its when someone jumps directly behind you, and they get a few seconds to attack while you try to figure out the blocking technique?
Would a dash forward fix this?
Think i need to learn more about crossups
of course i’m not inputting it correctly - ie the game, through the controller, is translating what I’m doing as the SRK move. Unfortunately that isn’t the move i’m inputting at all. It’s also interesting to note that 9 times out of 10 the game will recognize this input as the SRK move - and always (where there is one) that move. So, imo, that tells me something: that i’m really not doing the wrong move.
