I’ve been on the hunt for a 360 stick/pad all day yesterday, went to atleast 5 eb and gamestops up here in Toronto.
Only things avaliable are PS3 pads, sigh can’t wait until they come in stock.

proper sticks aren’t a popular consumer item. you’re going to want to do your searching online, especially when most quality sticks come from japan, or are custom made. if you are talking about the official sf4 sticks, they are the exception, but we’ve known that they are mostly sold out at the moment.
good luck in your hunt.
Have you tried gamerama at yonge and eglinton? or maybe even craiglist?
I live in Scarborough so I haven’t considered going to gamerama, might do so some time soon.
Yea I’ve almost lost all hope on getting any stick besides getting one online, but even stores online are sold out on 360 sticks at the moment, just gonna have to wait out I guess.

my first post
im new to SF and i wnna know what’s whiffing?
The very first post in this thread has a link to a terminology encyclopaedia…
Whiffing is when a move misses, does not hit, and is not blocked by the opponent.
Which of these is best for a rushdown player:
Chun, Viper, Sakura
Instead of basing a decision on other people’s opinions I’d recommend that you just spend some time playing with each of them and see which is most comfortable. It’s personal preference but to me choosing someone because they’re high on the tier list or something just takes the fun out of it unless you genuinely like playing them.
If you’re good you’ll be able to build a solid rushdown game with any of them.
Personally I’d go for Cammy… :lovin:
I’m aware of that, but I like them all pretty much equally…so an outside decision would be fine for me. Obviously one will be better than the others in this aspect.
I can’t stand Cammy personally, as I’m so used to punishing every move she has with an Ultra.
Well I find Sakura to be the most fun out of your three options, but it really does always feel like an uphill battle playing with her. She’s unstoppable with meter and pissweak without…
Viper is turning out to be pretty damned tough to beat - but also tough to play well (or perhaps I just suck )
Chun is solid as always, and a good choice if you prefer or are looking to pick up a charge character. Plus she has thighs!!! :lovin:
Hey all 3rd post here apparently i need 50 to make the thread i wanted to so ill just post in here insted
Is there anyone from the UK that plays this game anymore? EVERY time i look for a game they are either 2/3 blocks and i lag so much which makes it even harder to play with zangief i even changed from my wireless to wired and i still have the same problem and im on a 20mb connection
I quit so many games in rage due to the shuddering and lag that i get
Im a pretty bad player and maybe its me thats lagging but if anyone wants a game or two then add me

@sumopapisdn:
Mate, it’s a good thing you didn’t create a thread for that post because people would have eaten you alive…
A quick search of the main thread will find you this thread:
XBL Gamertag signup: http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=173138
Also in the main thread there’s a very long thread bitching about all the rage-quitting that goes on - so it might be wise to keep quiet on that front…
Another community you may want to check is http://www.neoempire.com/ which is a UK centric fighting game site.
Haha yeah i read it… but its so damn frustrating when it takes over 2 seconds for your char to do anything after the commands while its shuddering along its why i gave up playing ranked matches
and yeah my post would of had more substance in it rather than like 3 lines of text

Are you downloading anything? There was one day where I was wondering why everyone I played was lagging so bad, then realized it was because I was torrenting stuff.
Just joined the forum last week and introducing myself. I just got back into SF as I haven’t played since Super SFII back in the day. I bought SF IV to play casually, but since I got I have been addicted. I wish I found this forum earlier as the information here is unreal. Thx for the tips.
Maybe not the case in SFIV, but it certainly was in SFIITHDR. I suck at examples, so I can’t back my post up…
The main problem is that it’s pretty hard to get accustomed to the common animation associated. Trying to attack a ducking fighters head? Is that a valid tactic?
To begin with, a flying kick doesn’t exactly look like it will break through a block, does it?
Maybe I wasn’t thinking overheads in particular. The game is just generally unwelcoming.
How should I know to kick a sparking Blanka? That the shoryuken goes through nearly everything (don’t say this is just priority, SF takes it up a notch)? That jumping into a Cammy still in the air is dangerous? That Vega can in some cases fly through fireballs? That Rufus can spin through them? That backdashing has so much recovery time? That some low attacks have to be ducked (what the hell is up with Blanka’s ultra, by the way?)
Every fighting game has such peculiarities, but this is something else entirely. You may say that this can easily be figured out with lots of time and an internet connection, but that is not how you fundamentally judge a game. Judging a game on a competitive level is something else, hence SF is so popular.
But this is just speculation thus far. Maybe due to lag? I will make sure to actually back up my claim if I make a review or something.
All of this is me as well. I can’t believe how mauch fun I’m having getting my ass handed to me. Hadn’t played SF in so long, and shamefully, I’d never even heard of SF3 until 6 months ago.
