I got a long time Street Fighter player coming over tomorrow evening for a session on the cabinets. I don’t think his buddy is coming but I know he’s got one that is just as into the game as he is so I think there will be at least three of us in the future.
I don’t think I’ll be able to record the matches but I’ll definitely pick up a camera soon and record some matches down the line (I need a camera for some sports stuff too).

Alright, he came over and we played 25 or so games. I won them all. He said, and I believe him, that he needs to get used to the arcade stick and buttons as he’s used to playing on the SNES. He had good knowledge though, we talked quite a bit about the game as we played. We’re going to try to play again on the weekend and he thinks he might be able to bring a buddy or two. I’m really happy about the session and the fact that it looks like there will be more in the future. He was really enthusiastic about the game and didn’t get too upset about the beatings.
I think I’ll ask him if he or his buddies have a camera that we can film the matches with.
Maybe if I show you guys videos of my play you can give me pointers? That would be awesome.

These last few remaining matches are all AAA+ talent of the scene, so I really want to get these on youtube.

The characters both move noticeably faster than in FinalBurn. I kept thinking they seemed faster when watching videos on youtube, even for the arcade version. Has anyone done any more in-depth comparisions between the arcade and FinalBurn? To me, it seems like FinalBurn may be too slow.
I’ve had cigarbob say the same thing to me. CCC1 from research on srk runs HF too fast from what I’ve read.
HSF2AE, which is on ggpo, allows for variable speed but I don’t know that will equate to the right speed either.
FB runs some games too fast. Like vampire savior runs slightly faster than normal and the ST room has bounced around from turbo 2-1 for quite a while. Never heard of a game on ggpo running too slow.
is this only a cps1 thing?
I guess we just need someone to definitively test the times on the arcade one. I hate thinking I’m not playing the game at the right speed all this time! Anyway, I did some tests. About 58 seconds on FinalBurn for a round (from the time fight disappears till the 00 stops flashing). About 11.5 seconds jumping up and down 20 times with Vega.
shmupmame is far and away the best way to play HF on a pc
My hf rom doesn’t seem to work with that. I would like to test it. Do you know which rom I need?
