Oh no not this guy. I did not want to mention him in the thread, because he is simply an attention seeker. He was harrasing me on youtube with his scrubby videos. I told him he is low level (wwhich he clearly is) and that if he want to get serious I will help him get set up on GGPO etc… Anyway he’s basicaly bottled out and has returned to his youtube attention seeking. If anyone here is good and in the states, and dares brave XBL netplay, go and beat this guy and film it. *ps if u notice in the screen reflection between matches I think the guy actualy play naked, as if he wast creepy enough already…

LOL, oh god. I just realized I played that ridiculous “HINES CATCHUP” guy 2 or 3 times the other night. I lost (still very rusty/not good)… but the fact he beat me while in his underwear and likely yelling at his TV now makes me feel worse.

What would be the smoothest way to play this as well as the other games… Supercade, Mame w/ p2p, Mame w/ servers, or GGPO?
A couple of my buddies just wanna have some matches with each other to kill the time.

Well for other games, there isn’t much between the main emulators. But unfortunately SF2HF does have some problems with some of the main emulators including Mame and GGPO. Supercade (which is based on the nFBA emulator: barryharris.me.uk ) plays SFHF perfectly, tho some poeple dont like how it handles input delay and netcode.
As mentioned you can play SF2HF within HSF2 (anniversary edition) by setting the speed to 1 and only using HF characters, and that is emulated fine by all the emus afaik.
Well it was nice to see a return to an oldschool tactics, footsie, positioning type game after so many years of post darkstalkers rushdown fighters. Tho at a high level there are alot of important differences.
BTW GUYS I fergot to say, I found out YOU CAN RECORD MATCHES in GGPO! I wish i would have known this from the start of the tourney. You simply go to the options during the game and select record input or record game (I cant remember which). Anyway, it will save a replay file that you can apparently re-name and use the standalone FBA emulator to replay. Ive not got this to work yet, but wolmar is going to show me how. So hopefully we will be atleast able to record that latter matches of the tourney

*Everyone remainging in the tourney, please record the remaining matches within GGPO using the method I’ve described above. The replay files will be saved in your C.>Program Files.>GGPO.>Recordings folder. send them to me! We really want to see these matches now, with so many high level matchups, and now u can use GGPO, there is no excuse!
I hope everyone who is remaining or has been knocked out of the tourney will stick around in GGPO / Supercade and in the thread. The whole reson for doing the tourney is to bring HF players together and try to make more of a scene for online play. If comp is regularly available online as it is with SF2 CE, HF will become alot more popular.
Decoy, Buiscutchef, Tarkan and T.O.S lets keep the momentum going pls and get ur matches done asap. Thanks guys.

Unless something changed recently, if you record your own input while you’re playing a game on GGPO, the replay file will not playback correctly. I think you’d have to have someone spectate and record the match for you. Maybe there’s a workaround now, but that’s what I remember happening before.

Oh kk, thats why I cant get it to work then. Ok, well the point is that it ‘is’ possible to record GGPO matches. I really wish someone had told me this before.
So, to those people still in the tourney, pls find someone, anyone, to spectate and record your remaining matches. You can arrange a time here in the thread and someone from here can record it, or ask a friend, or another GGPO idler, anyone, just pls record them and send the files to me.
