I don’t think Honda owns Bison in ST - Bison’s normal set are just too great. But he’s got an advantage for sure if you just park yourself in the corner and react to everything.
what wins psycho crusher or headbutt?
If you believe Honda’s Alpha 3 ending, headbutt is supposed to win. But in general, I think psycho crusher wins unless it runs into jab headbutt’s invincibility frames.
What wins between Psycho Crusher and headbutt depends on who started their’s first and what version.
If both characters are already flying, Psycho Crusher will win.
On start up, whoever is first to fly will win, except for Honda LP Headbutt which is invincible on start up.
Honda vs. Bison is a tough fight for Bison. If he ever gets behind, he’s dead. But he has options in this match. As opposed to, say, Zangief, where all Bison can do is die.
That T-Akiba chart is all sorts of hilariously wrong. Balrog no.2? Dhalsim no.11? Guile and Sagat no 6 and 7 respectively? Rubbish. The only ranking that is correct is M.Bison being dead last, and maybe Blanka being no.5.
BTW, concerning Blanka vs. Balrog, I thought all Blanka had to do to win was do get close and do HK Vertical Ball x N? Balrog has no way to hit Blanka’s Vertical Ball if it’s right on top of him, such that the ball goes past him, but doesn’t cross him up because Balrog leans too far back in standing block.
Btw, can anyone link up the video of the oldschool hyper tatics with Tomo again, I can’t seem to find it anymore on zach’s site (unless I’m blind), I lost the vid when I reformatted…I forgot to back it up:sad: , so if anyone can help me out, it would be great.
Also, would still love any tips on people who’ve had more experience then me with a matchup of T.Ryu vs. T.Balrog…I’m still having a tough time with this matchup.
man, the CPU is too cheap! can’t beat the game unless I am using Ryu or Ken who has the invincible uppercut
Is this why T.AKiba thinks boxer is top tier?

Nice video, I never thought Balrog could be a top tier because he doesn’t have a efficient anti-air move.
Seems like someone’s cut up the HF Gamest vid and put it on you tube. This’ll be great for promoting HF, esp it being split into specific parts.so will come up under multipl searches.
I alredy saw that the End tournament art is up too. If anyone can link to all the sections of the vid that are on youtubee: character sections combo execution section, and tourney section, wouldbe a great resurse for the thread.
If anyone want the complete video, I posed it up on the first page abt 6 weeks ago: http://www.shoryuken.com/forums/showthread.php?t=113811
Just wanted to say that several months ago I was on XBox Live and I played against someone who used HF Boxer and he beat the living shit out of me. He was doing insane combos and tricks against me and I felt like a total noob. I immediately messaged NKI and told him and even he said that HF Balrog is indeed one tough bastard to fight against. None of my fighters could do anything. It was a totally new match for me so I didn’t have a very good game strategy to use. Definitely served me a slice of humble pie that day.
name the player. I shall meet him.
damn, i think i played the same guy too, his’ turbo rog beat my st rog pretty soundly… he also has a crazy turbo honda. can’t remember the name though
Are you sure the name was not AfroLegends?
Afro likes to play ST Rog, Ryu and DJ. But, I wouldn’t put it past him to learn yet another character and start dominating with him. The kid is nice.
~Decoy
Nope. Afro Legends doesn’t play HF Rog.
This guy was doing meaty turn around punches, jab jab into rush punch, low RH.
He would do jump away punches on the wakeup and tag me for the hit. Always charged with rush or turn around punches. Nobody ever beat me that badly before on any SF2 game ever. I wish I knew who he was because he was really good.
The headbutt needs pixel-on-pixel to make the connect. The psych crusher seems to have a buffer around it that extends it’s hit range beyond the sprite a little.
So as mentioned, if the two are flying at each other, ether the PS will win, or both will connect. If you use the jab headbutt, the invincibility frames will let you hit the psycho crusher deep, which is why that works so well.
HF top teir for me is Vega (claw) and Honda. Vega’s speed wins against any shoto-whore any day of the week.
We’ve got a SF2:HF cab in the shop on a 29" candy with Jap sticks (been here for about 4 months now). So far I’m undefeated out of around 50 games a week by challengers who walk in off the street. At one stage I had a round-robin of students from the local university come in to take me on. They’d each play 2-3 games and then swap out for a friend. I won 25 games to nil with Vega. Good times.
Not that it’s anything to brag about. There’s bugger all HF skill here in Brisbane, let alone Australia. I’m hoping to get HF happening at OzHadou next year, and maybe we can get some skilled players to show up and have a real challenge. I’m nowhere near as good at this game now as I was 10 years ago. My skills have really dropped. I’d love to get back into the swing of it and have a tourney with some real players. In the meantime, I’m looking forward to it hitting XBLA, and I might have to fire up some Kaillera games too.
The HF AI is weaksauce. You just don’t know its patterns.
Wait… is this not out yet? (re: 360 version)
I was able to download and play the trial version of this last week at work, and some co-workers were playing the full version. This was on dev-kits, so that might have made a difference, I’m not sure though. Looked fun. Controller is still hella hard to do moves with, and the button layout didn’t make it any easier.
It is only out on Partner Net (Which you need a dev 360 for) they are still tweaking the netcode.
So, does the game look blurry? Or, is it sharp and crisp on the 360.
I use Vega a lot, and I wouldn’t say he’s top tier. He doesn’t have a good reversal (I don’t think the backflip counts) or a real good way of doing damage. However, in terms of sheer annoyance factor, I think only Chun-Li beats him out.
As for Honda being top tier, he comes close, but you win this fight on the select screen by picking Ryu or Ken (given you don’t try to do anything fancy).
