You can tiger uppercut from crouch underneath a hurricane. Problem is that it will often trade unpredictably.
However, you can hit cleanly with st.rh when the hurricane goes past. St.fierce works as well, but the timing is strict. Haven’t tested tiger knee because I usually just use st.rh.
St.rh is a solid anti-air in most cases. Use it like Guile’s cr.fierce… best when you anticipate a jump and can hit at the apex.
The easiest way to do a crouch uppercut is to whiff a low short, and enter the TU input, so the d own,down-forward parts are done after low short’s recovery. However, it is possible to do a flat out crouching TU by doing the input before the game registers you getting up from a crouch, but it takes a lot of practice.
Thanks for the tips. The st.rh after the hurricane goes by should help me out a lot.
I do like the st.rh for anti-air sometimes and agree that it works great in many cases. Sometimes, when I’m crouching and they jump in, I don’t have time to stand up and then do the rh but I would have had enough time to do a crouching fierce with Ryu, Ken, or Guile. I think it’s just one of those things, it is what it is. Probably the best thing for those situations is to practice, practice, practice the TU and and make it lightning quick. It’ll never be as fast as simply pushing one button but I can narrow the margin with practice and hey, it does a TON of damage.
well, since no one here that actually still posts aside myself knew tomo personally, ill be nice and respond. his main character was guile from sf2 and ce. he played guile in hf but ryu was obviously a better rounded character. tomo was definitely the top hf player at the time while i believe i was a close 2nd. jeff schaefer was a clear 3rd while a handful of other top players would round out this list. ryus hurricane kick invincibility off the ground is hands down the best move in the game imo. and a quick leak of info for you tomo fanatics, he might be showing up to evo hinthint* ill keep everyone updated.
Now that’s what’s up! Good stuff, watson! I’m sure you all will have a nice time. It’s likely I won’t be there, but hey, I’m down for whatever’s good for the SF community.
its been a long long while but from what i remember, i used alot of tick throws and st short low shorts options vs guile. our ryu/ryu fights were pretty good though. i think guile just lost a step and even at the hands of tomo guile is rough to win with. the game HF was faster making it tougher for a counter hit based character to win.
