Not working for me. I’m assuming it’s not up yet, or am I deficient in my abilities over here?

I use Ryu and Sagat almost exclusively. I think I’m going to try to learn Guile. He’s one of the most fun and interesting characters, and he’s a strong character that does well against the rest of the cast for the most part. What are some keys to using him?

Anyone want to talk Street Fighter? : )

Somebody tweeted their tier list for Hyper Fighting about a year ago. “Super Arcade” commented on their tweet and said, “Don’t like this list tbh. Blanka is hands down #1 while Ryu is a close 2nd and rest are way behind…”. Likelihood is strong that “Super Arcade” is Mike Watson. Very interesting if Mike Watson is saying that Blanka is hands down #1. Ryu had long been the consensus #1 but I know that Blanka is one of the strongest characters too. I’m not disagreeing with Mike, he’s one of the people where if they say something different than what is generally accepted, then I tend believe them. I remember Jeff Schaeffer saying that back in the day he was dominating the scene with Blanka when Tomo was on hiatus and that if Tomo didn’t come back and use Ryu with his transcendent play, and win, that Blanka probably would have gone down in the books as being at the very top of the tier list.

I did a little practicing in advance of our matches. Man, transitioning from the arcade to my TE2 stick on the PS4 is a bit rough. I’ll keep at it and hopefully it will start to feel normal. I don’t mind the Japanese sticks and buttons even though I’m used to American stuff on the arcade, it’s more the angle of my hands and arms on the arcade stick when I’m sitting. I also don’t like that it can slide around at times. I’m excited to get into some online games though.

pours one out for Super Arcade

A shame that Super Arcade has closed. Even though I’m on the East Coast I liked knowing that there was a live SF2 scene and that it was lead by none other than Mike Watson. Hopefully Watson stays involved with the game in other ways.

Street Fighter 2 Hyper Fighting is my favorite out of the SF2 series, but any SF2 version or other fighters will do without supers as my favorites.

I wish I did have a scene again with this game though, because current gen and online gaming are a bit stale. The old games and playing in person/getting to know them are better in my view.

I found this for CE. What do you guys say we use this template but make changes so that it’s accurate for Hyper Fighting? I would love to see a reasonably accurate matchup chart and I think all of the ones from way back in the day are not close to being accurate.

You’re gonna need some OGs to chime in. Dont know that I’ve seen a match up chart for HF.

Yeah, I don’t think I’ve seen an HF matchup chart either. When I said above that all the ones I’ve seen from way back weren’t very good, I was thinking of character rankings instead of matchup charts. I’ve seen some bad tier lists/rankings from back in the day but I don’t think I’ve seen a matchup chart at all.

I will ask @Apoc the OG.

Edit: my tier list would be like this
