I got the Blu-Ray / DVD combo pack of season 2 from Right Stuff last week in the mail. Was one of the first 100 people to order so I got the FREE SB 2012 calendar! Lol it’s just a poster that has the 12 months on it and one image on the top but whatevs. Still FREE. 
Like season 1 the Blu-Ray looks amazing.

I read that Ieyasu and Mitsunari got new english VA’s for the anime.
I’m watching it in Japanese with subtitles so no comment on the English actors. I’m only up to episode 5. There’s a commentary with the English voice actors in episode 6, I’ll check that.
At least this time they listed every Japanese voice actor’s name in the credits. It was odd that for season 1 Funimation only listed 4 of the Japanese actors in the credits. No big since hey I guess that’s what IMDB is for but still.
Studio Udon is going to translate the Sengoku Basara manga and the Official Complete Works book!

I expect everyone of you guys to buy that artbook. We need to show Capcom that BASARA love is still going strong here. Hell, I still haven’t imported Utage since I have hope (a VERY slim one at that) that they’ll do a proper localization this time around.

The first volume of the Sengoku Basara manga, Sengoku Basara Samurai Legends hits comic book stores in the US next week!
Note that regular book store and Amazon.com dates are very different from comic book store dates at times, sometimes getting things before comic shops do and sometimes after.

First volume of the Sengoku Basara Samurai Legends manga was pretty cool. It really covered the second game, but Udon called it ‘Samurai Legends’ because the second game was never released in the US. Oh and on the back of the book they bill it as a prequel to the Sengoku Basara Samurai Heroes video game. CONFUSED MUCH? :looney: Lol well inside the manga whenever it says ‘SB2’ that remains intact, it’s just the cover that says ‘Samurai Legends.’
Anyway it covers the second game, but it’s done in such a way that you don’t have to know much about what happened during SB1, Oda’s dead and that’s kind of it. Date and Yukimura meet for the first time in this story. Ditto for both of them meeting Keiji.
The story itself is much closer to the first season of the anime, there are many parallels. The manga did come first but not having actually played SB1 or SB2 I can’t really vouch for where the anime got their ideas from, the game or this manga. Yeah anyway you can swap out the anime’s Oda for Hideyoshi and a lot of the same storyline beats play out.
There are some differences. Keiji is WAY more of a player lol! Date doesn’t respect Keiji at all. Little things like that.
So yeah it’s pretty cool if you are an SB fan but the anime is still way better. For one the fights in the anime are ten times more INSANE. And Kasuga’s HOTTER in the anime too. She still has her ‘Kasugasms’ though. :lovin:
In the manga there is an ad for the Sengoku Basara art book that is coming to the US. They show MAGOICHI word! No real date in the ad but lol Udon’s stuff and exact dates are never a good match anyway. 
Hopefully this means that it’s coming out soon-ish though. 
BTW I did get around to checking out the Last Party movie. IT RULED!!! :rock: Yeah, missing a lot of people but I figure it’s the same reason the anime changes stuff, to give you a reason to go play the game lol!
I’m still kind of hoping that the DVD will offer a special Magoichi / Keiji episode since Magoichi’s my main in SBSH. Fingers crossed!

I wish Capcom would do what Koei Tecmo did and just release it digitally for the EU/NA…i’d definitely purchase it.
I’d be excited if all of Capcom’s previous “HD remasters” so far weren’t so half-assed (i.e. high-def models & pretty much low-res everything else).
EDIT: New SB game would be dope tho’. Would be great if they used regular MT Framework (fuck the Wii), but Framework Lite would still suffice.
If it means getting the original Japanese voices and ultimately having SB games come to America then I’m all for having them be digital only release then.

Meh wish they’d release 3 Utage in English…I wouldn’t mind if it was a downloadable game too.
At least the art book is not in comic book stores yet. Regular book stores maybe since they have a really annoying we-get-stuff-whenever-we-feel-like-getting-it policy with anything that isn’t named Harry Potter or written by a celebrity.
I guess if you go through Amazon.com it doesn’t matter because you can pay ahead of time.

And its not just any chick. It’s Satonaka from Kamen Rider OOO. Yeaaaaaaaah Buddy!!! Kasuga is hot as fuck too.
Some of them look like bad cosplayers.
However, I will give them credit for sticking to the character designs. Too many Hollywood renditions that have only a passing resemblance to their source material.
