^You don’t have a PS3 I take it?
I do, but it seems you missed the hidden meaning of my previous post.
^I do now lol.
Post some screens of what it looks like with Dolphin’s HD filters if you can.
I’m not making any promises but maybe by the end of the week since I’m busy studying for a midterm that I want to study and I’ll be busy during the weekend chilling with family and friends.
Here’s a vid of somebody who was able to get it to run on Dolphin though.

Oh yeah, forgot about the Wii. Just bought the cheaper Asia PS3 version from Play-Asia yesterday, but it’s on backorder. Maybe I’ll “hunt down” a Wii copy to tide me over until then.
Will watch, thanks for the vid, and good luck in your exams.
Apparently the 6 characters you have to unlock do not get alternate outfits, only have 1 super skill and all 6 of their weapons have the same model.
The last one I don’t care about at all actually, but really disappointed I wont get any cool alts for Uesugi and Kasuga. Less skills sucks too, but they made charge square a special move for everyone so at least those 6 will all have 6 moves
Well, again, even in a case like this, Utage’s purpose should be clear: it’s pretty much something Team BASARA banged out for the purpose of a) making a bit more money and b) likely to hold all of us over until the more “definitive” SB4 comes out in another year or two.
I have no problem with that. At least having this much work completed for the SB3 generation of characters should do more to insure that the likes Hideyoshi, Hanbei, Nagamasa and everybody else from the SB2 generation should be next up on the list, plus whatever new characters they may be drafting up.
I realize all that, but just think about it for a second. They gave alts and a full skill list to joke characters like Kobayakawa and Mogami over Uesugi and Shingen.
Don’t mean to sound like a Negative Nancy, but if they do decide to make a SB4, what’s left for them to flamboyantly exaggerate besides a few more new characters like Hanzo and Kojiro (please Capcom) and add a few dead and forgotten ones back like Nouhime, Ranmaru, Hideyoshi, and Hanbei? Maybe it’s because I don’t know much about Japanese history but all I know about the Warring States period in a nutshell is that first came Nobunaga, then Hideyoshi, and then between Ieyasu and Mitsunari.
[S]Eh, they can always make up some more fictional characters (Kasuga), as well as go the Samurai Warriors-route & start including historical figures from other periods (Minamoto/Taira) or people who weren’t warriors but were just culturally significant (Okuni).[/S]
[S]Speaking of which, how come neither series has ever done a take on Jubei Yagyu? I don’t know if anyone could top SNK’s version, but they could try.[/S]
EDIT: Fuck, I see what you’re saying. If they keep progressing as they have, maybe they’ll have to spin-off into the Meiji Restoration (end of foreign isolationism) peirod. Capcom’s take on the Last Blade…
“Sons and stepsons” treatment. It’s, sadly, not a foreign concept to BASARA at all.
For example, before SB3, Tokugawa was a NPC for 2 games, all while the likes of Motochika and Motonari (who were NPCs in SB1, too) became full-fledged playables before him. Then when he finally WAS playable by HEROES, Ieyasu had to make do with being a guy rocking a clone of Toshiie’s S-string, only two skills to his credit and, of course, no story mode. Team BASARA apparently didn’t lose sleep over the fact that a character that’s been there since the first game (and one of the friggin UNIFIERS OF JAPAN!) was being treated in such a fashion. Ieyasu just had to make do with his ass being put to the back of bus until he became the star in SB3. At best, you could just say that the shoe was on the other foot this time around.
I’m not trying to excuse Team BASARA’s behavior, but that’s pretty much how things have been going down since the series started. So for anybody who’s been following it for a while, it really shouldn’t be surprising that these things still do happen.
The easy answer? Everything that you see in both Sengoku Musou and BASARA is still basically a glorified “Abridged” version of the Warring States period, and there’s always more that Koei and Capcom can tell with each passing games.
For example, imagine if one of the REAL reasons behind Sekigahara, Hideyoshi’s second son and rightful heir, Hideyori, got introduced? Furthermore to note is that Hideyori is basically at the center of the last real conflict of the Sengoku period, the Siege at Osaka Castle (both 1614 and 1616).
So, in short, there still is a good deal of ground to cover, ranging from as early as Nobunaga’s rise to power to the Siege at Osaka Castle, where a number of the most famous personalities like Yukimura and Ieyasu fought their final battles. That’s perhaps the allure of working with the history for both Capcom and Koei alike…
It’s surprising not because of the actual historical context of the characters, but because they ALREADY treated characters like Kobayakawa and Mogami as joke characters, yet gave them full move lists. The Ieyasu in SB3 is basically not the same character even though it’s the same person.
Let alone, those 6 characters, minus Houjou, already had full movelists. They could have at least just left those in. Well Uesugi still only had 6 moves so at least he’s complete. I’m just annoyed that those 5 got treated that way, but oh well
Capcom’s running a Sengoku Basara character fan poll in Japan. The winning character will star in their own CD drama, special video clip and a TV commercial. Lol gotta love Japan! :lovin:
If Matsu or Kasuga don’t win…
Good luck with that, knowing how fangirl-oriented the BASARA franchise is.
It’d be a victory if one of the resident non-yaoi bait personalities like Hisahide won, much less a female.
My favorite SB characters are Date and Yukimura character-wise but playing-wise my fav is Magoichi Saica. I’d probably vote for her if I could since I’m sure the other two will do well. She kind of reminds me of Mamiya from Hokuto No Ken. Her “Saica faction blah blah blah” over and over again is kind of annoying though.
Kasuga’s dope but I never played a game where I got to control her. I’d feel strange voting her just based on her making me pause the anime and say “HOT DAMN!!!”
Pretty awesome that the poll includes characters from previous SB games.
Some crazy deals in Capcom’s Store this week. They have the Wii version of Sengoku Basara Samurai Heroes for only 13.99! I have the PS3 version but I wouldn’t mind having it for the Wii too since I love this game! Nothing really to play on the Wii this year besides Zelda Skyward Sword for me anyway.

For anybody interested.

Here’s a link that leads to Wiird codes for Utage. It would be great if somebody could translate them for us though.
And has The Last Party movie been subbed yet?
Not sure but haven’t found a sub for it yet.
The official date for the US release for season 2 of the Sengoky Basara anime on DVD and Blu-Ray is February 17th!
