The Sengoku Basara series Thread: NO POLEDANCING KASUGA FOR YOU!

Cryoh - Cool I gotta try that. Thanks!

Beat Ieyasu’s red path…really a fun character to use.
Gauntlets w/ BASARA damage increase + charm that fills BASARA meter quicker + Eastern Winds = BASARA JAMBOREE!!!

Also been trying to utilize Ieyasu’s charge abilities…seems like ALL his attacks can charge.
Doesn’t seem to work well on officers…but good on soldiers.
Charge normals 5X into Eastern Winds is beast.

Next up…Mitsunari.

The gold ones, and the special ones that don’t have multiple types which is most of the list anyway.

Girlfriend and I have already beat it with like…half the cast. We played it for bascially 2 days straight though. I personally don’t really care for the game. Its not a bad game. It’s just not something I’d go out of my way to buy or to play. But I bought it for her so she had something to do till she got a job.

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww…:lovin:

Japanese girls for some reason LOVE this series…maybe all females do I dunno.

I usually charge Ieyasu’s normals when I need to adjust the direction of my attacks. During the charge flash, everything around him kinda freezes for a sec, during which you can move the camera to somewhat change his direction. Since there’s no lock-on function, it’s helpful when I’ve lost target of a general.

His standing triangle special can be stored & charged while you continue to fight. But if you get hit or do certain moves (like his 3rd R2), he loses the charge. Not sure what the max charge time is (I’ve gotten into the habit of just always charging one after clearing an area and moving on to the next), but at its fullest he’ll do two punches. If you get the move off close enough, the enemy will float in place after the first punch before getting hit by the second. Otherwise, the enemy will just go flying away after the first punch, taking much less damage.

Although for both of those to be practical, I had to totally remap my buttons. It would be a bitch using the default config.

My girl is white as snow, yo. But she loves Dynasty Warriors/Samurai Warriors/Sengoku. All that shit.

Hmmm…I gotta attempt that charged 2 hit.
I currently got that art at level 2…and I noticed his fists blinked twice instead of once.

Also…is it hard to level up with Ieyasu on normal?
I beat his story, and he’ still in the the 20’s.

A keeper…

 That’s what everyone has been telling me. I’m inclined to agree.

You’ve got a good lady there, Stu.

Whenever you get the punch to level three, holy crap. The two hits can OHKO Squad Leaders and take out 40-50% of a Base Commander’s HP on Hard. Then again, his headbutt accomplishes almost the same thing without needing a charge, so…

Heh, even though it only flashes three times max, the longer you hold it down, the more damage it’ll do (hence why I call it his TAP). I’ve flat out killed base commander’s with it, and have taken at least 30% life off of boss generals.

I got another question…how can I outrun Masamune?
That shit straight annoyed me.

Dude. This. So hard. My girlfriend and I have had such a fucking hard time with this mission.
I wish there was a site with all the level goals listed. :frowning:

At least for me, constantly jumping with the horse is actually faster than straight running. Also, save your Basara 'til the tail-end of the race to flat-out blow past him.

EDIT: I pretty much take the same path as Masamune. Usually I’ll have caught up to him by the checkpoint “X is in the lead” message. From there it’s usually neck & neck until that tunnel before the finish line, whereupon I use a Basara for the home stretch.

I don’t even bother trying to take down Kojuro without that special horse damage accessory .

Well, if you hit ALL the treasure chests, you can keep using basara throughout the run to go faster than him. Also you have to remember that when your basara on the horse ends, it drops you into the normal horse run, not the dash, so after it ends you have to input the dash again to keep going at top speed.

That said, I rarely beat him and Kojuuro myself.

Oichi…

WHAT. THE. FUCK.

She wasn’t hard. Just annoying. I didn’t bother fighting her again in Quick Battle. Mitsunari is pretty cool to play as. I’m constantly using the ability to cancel his triangle special dash into whatever. I never killed Squad Leaders and Generals so fast without even knowing they were around.

Just started playing as Kotaro. Damn, this guy is badass.

I usually have the easiest time beating Masamune and Kojuro with Tadakatsu Honda’s flight mode. Hero Mode at the end lets me cheese out Masamune, and shooting the shit out of Kojuro is easier than using a horse with the others.
