Just grabbed the game yesterday and played it for like…4 hours straight. It’s fucking awesome. Almost passed it over but this thread convinced me to do otherwise. Glad I didn’t miss out.
Finally had a chance to play this game…greatness so far.
Fuck weapons…Ieyasu wrecks shop.
I kinda forgot this game existed. : O
I saw it’s only a 40 dollar release? That’s cool. I see myself picking it up sometime in the future, just not until I’ve somehow, some way kicked to New Vegas addiction. ^^’’
My fat small fat nephew Fattie was over the other week, and I let him play the demo - lol. He was actually doing pretty good just mashing buttons. I think he got a 500+ hit combo at some point with Ieyasu, haha. His observations on games are always pretty funny. He kept calling Honda, ‘the robot.’ xd
Gonna get back to this soon; took a little break when I got Lost Planet 2. According to my save file I sank 60 hours into this game & have so far only beaten it with 5 characters. Left off just at the beginning of Kanbe’s campaign.
EDIT: Looks like I’ve actually beaten it with 7 characters. Still, if there really is a trophy for playing 100 hours (never checked), I got that one down for sure at this rate. Doesn’t really matter though.
I really like the English voice acting in this game. Just wish it was lip-synced better.
The eng. voices are actually pretty good…only ones I can say I don’t like are Magoichi’s and Kenshin’s.
Not that it does not fit her…it’s just that annoying to me.
I’m gonna loathe playing as her.
Shimazu is such a let down =(
Shimazu wasn’t as much of a letdown as Hondam was. I was expecting the Hondam to be awesome and fun to play, but he’s just…boring!
- Pick Magoichi
- blah blah blah SAICA FACTION blah blah blah
- ?
- Profit
I finally maxed out Hanzo last week, so I’m now on the fugitive train as well. Although the train only seems to be stopping at luck station so far  I could look up which stages give ATK and DEF increases, but meh, I’ll take them as they come.
Ok, poll time. Which character do you most want as a PC for the inevitable expansion? You only get one pick. I say Hideyoshi. Give him a gaiden story detailing what happens just before his death, and we’re set.
You want Hideyoshi to be non playable?
Fuck that…bring back Musashi and his broken spit.
Whoops, I meant “PC”, that’s what I get for posting at work while multitasking with a bunch of other things. Fixed my original post. And Musashi was great fun, I miss the random encounters with him and Matsunaga from the previous games.
There are more actually I would like…I can’t just have one.
New NPC character in SB3 I would like to be PC in the next one…Munishige.
He’s like a less boring Honda…
NPC character in SB3 I would like to return as playable…“Tenkai”.
Sadistic SOB…
Here’s a list of what fugitive KO bonuses you get from each stage-
If you can, KO fugitives while in Hero Mode to get x2 EXP from KOing them (i.e. you get 20k)
Am I the only one who would like to play as Naoe Kanetsugu or Hideaki?
I did the “just one” just to be a jerk, haha. And I agree, Munishige is the obvious pick from the new NPCs. After that I’d say Yoshiake or the forest guy (log summoning FTW).
I’d love if they could fit 10+ new PCs into the expansion, because there are a lot of interesting characters who didn’t make the cut in 3 / Samurai Heroes:
- Kojuro (only playable in one game?!)
- Hideyoshi
- Nagamasa (see Kojuro)
- No-Hime
- Ranmaru
- Hanbei
- Kenshin
- Shingen
- Tenkai
- Sasuke
- Musashi
I have a feeling No-Hime and Ranmaru will never return as we now have Magoichi and Tsurihime, but it would be nice to see the entire Oda clan back in action.
Thanks again for the table - I figure I have to play all of the stages anyways, but it’s good to know when you’re starting with a level 1 character, and want to increase Attack and Defense quickly. I’ve been using Basara to KO fugitives, but I really should use Hero time instead.
Hideaki would be interesting - the ground spin would be great for crowd control, and I could see his cooking Basara being pretty hilarious.
Muneshige is a bro-

That theme makes me shed manly tears ;.;
I agree…with Manface Saica and Tsuruhime around, NO and Ranmaru will have to chill with Matsunaga in the sidelines.
Shame because Ranmaru was quite broken with his arrows.
Get rid of the annoying schoolgirl and bring back the Oda brat.
Ieyasu is a poor man’s Hideyoshi IMO.
Fists
Rapid punch move
Even got the fist to the sky art…
Oh, and I’ve grown to like Liam OBrien’s work with Ieyasu.
At first I was like…WTF, the Darksiders guy is voicing Ieyasu?? Insanity.
But play for a while, it fits Ieyasu’s “holier than thou” personality.
Everytime I activate Hero Time, I imagine Ieyasu say, “Lets us diversify yo bonds, nigga!”
Girlfriend wants to know if there is a site where they have the story line tree’s. She has a lot of characters at 90% and its pissing her off. Any other stuff would be nice too (where to grind for rare items, stats…etc)
Here’s a beastly spreadsheet with all of the info you desire.
The highest you can get is 90% until you unlock Incident at Honno-ji.
Recently I did both storyline scenarios for Magoichi. The first time I teamed up with Mitsunari but I was curious about the Ieyasu route. Both paths had things I liked about them so they were cool.
She’s like DMC’s Dante but on permanent Gunslinger Mode lol! She even has that move Dante has where he jumps up in the air and spins down on his opponents making it rain bullets! :lovin:
I managed to get a 2,000 hit combo with her to get that trophy. I got up to about 2,900 a few times and the only thing that stopped me from hitting 3,000 was I kept running out of fools to kill.
After that I got one scenario with Mitsunari to get my fake Vergil / Yamato on lol! Wow his voice actor be ragin’!
Next time I play I’ll go through it with Ieyasu.
You’ll get 10,000 hits easy on the Sekigahara - Intrusion stage.
So guys, I’ve collected a shitload of Zenny but I haven’t spent ANY of it yet. Which accessories are worth spending? I don’t want to waste money on an accessory I can easily obtain from smashing hidden blue boxes and clearing stages.
