Hell yeah. Pang De was my fav Wei character when he got introduced. Only prob I have w/ fatties is their slow sprint speed while doing farming runs.
I saw in one of the promo vids that Kanbe tucks into a ball & rolls around. When I come to him gonna try to see how that works vs running . I’ve already taken to just using Oichi’s crazy-wide super jump to get around instead of her sprint.
Cool, but wish it was more versatile. Guess I’ll stick with Six Claws instead.
There’s most likely going to be an “Extreme Legends” kinda thing, if everyone wasn’t aware, ALSO…I haven’t played this game in days :(…busy…but then again, I think I’m gonna do Mitsunari’s story on hard this time around.
Right now, I have Choso as my ally, but is there anyway to make him not just stand there and look pretty?
agreed, date is that dude once you have some more options as he gets leveled up; specifically, when you can come out of his r2 in 6 claw mode. sure he’s not mitsunari overpowered, but he’s def beast. put ya guns on.
run through the game with cable, err, saika, as soon as possible. she is the first character i played the game with and once i found out what her 4 specialty items did i sat there for like 8 hours beasting on the game lol. she’s really fun without them, especially once you level up the rocket launcher to where you can charge and aim. jump back grenade toss followed up with charged & locked on rpg = BOOM SHAKA LAKA! i sent so many bodies so far into the air that i am pretty sure i missed out on getting a few items due to the enemies bodies flying off screen (not using the item that increases how far enemies fly either).
re: kanbei. i want to like using him and he’s not as bad as floating casio keyboard man, but damnit i have so much trouble taking on chainsaw arm guy in that one stage where you are supposed to run from him (i think that’s what you’re “supposed” to do anyways). i never run from him, unless i see the stat enemy pop up, but whatever. i’m kinda pissed off that the “big dude/grappler” type char has trouble beating anyone. i mean FFS i rolled chainsaw arms with crane princess, but i can’t kill him w/the SB version of zangief? sad times.
final atomic edit: shouldn’t each character be able to get all 38 fugitives? that would be pretty shitty if there were some kind of restrictions for how many each character can get; however, given how much i’ve played i think it’s safe to say that everyone can get all 38. i know i’ve personally killed more than 38, possibly killed all 38 with nobe and saika themselves. well, i might still have 2-3 left i haven’t grabbed, but i have nobe pretty much stacked with bonuses.
edit @ Gasaraki: what stage would you recommend for getting 6 slots for weapons just above the last row (not sure if there are 6 or 7 rows and can’t check since i’m at work)? i was trying to randomly select stages in conquest mode on the hardest difficulty but had no luck getting anything good. mitsunari and tokugawa are still in desperate need of the last weapons you can get 6 slots with. although i probably won’t use mitsu’s french tickler looking wep due to it not having an elemental property bonus, but i would still like to have it lol.
also, do you use any special item combination for when you’re weapon hunting? i’ve made like 5 or 6 chuck wagons (2=wheeled wagon) for as much luck as i can get but even with 3 chuck wagons and 3 gold lightans (gold lion/attack bonus) i wasn’t getting a damn thing, weapon wise. i’m thinking i just hadn’t found the proper stage - shitty thing about that is i seem to remember one stage in particular that was great for weapons but forgot which stage it was lol.
IF It helps, Kanbei can cancel his the last hit of his Square attack into a roll. Or rather do a quick roll after the final spin and you can continue comboing.
Try to beat that stage on Easy mode, then when he’s leveled up and has access t better weapons and stuff try it on the harder difficulties.
One thing to make note of is that the chainsaw guy will not walk on a walway that has a specific pattern on it (the rulers of Xavi’s faces on a walkway). Use this to your advantage t advance ahead of him.
I don’t really care about maxing out the weapons, when it happens, it happens, and I don’t farm for weapons either lol. I enjoy the game too much to ever want to do anything tedious with it.
One thing though, Kenshin’s stage is best for weapon farming since you always get 4 gold weapon drops.
i just keep getting bad dice rolls then because i’ve had 4 slot weapons for the 5th row on mitsunari and tokugawa for way too long. i wouldn’t use any other wep with mitsunari anyways, since the 4th row has the elemental addition, but i would still like the options of having a french tickler with my emo fade. lol. the best part about you saying kenshin’s stage is good for weapons is that i played his stage specifically on the hardest difficulty so many times, yet still no luck.
oh well, i guess the game just doesn’t want me to use the french tickler.
Finished Yukimura’s story just now. I liked it more than Date’s. I was getting like 800 + combo attacks comboing Yukimura’s R2 Blaze Kick with his R1 machine gun spear move and normals. :lovin: Will go for Magoichi next.
Funny I personally prefered Yukimura’s 2nd R2 attack. It can do some serious damage. Press R2, then Square rapidly for additional uppercuts.
I beat my first Fugitive today while playing Yukimura in the Saica Stronghold, but all it gave me was bonus Luck stats. I thought beating fugitives gives you a big boost for your attack and defense stats?
EDIT: OK turns out each Fugitive on each stage gives a different bonus. Also someone posted a list showing which fugitive gives bonuses- http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/961301-sengoku-basara-samurai-heroes/56866467
…and is it true every character can defeat 38 fugitives to reach near god-tier strength?
Ah. I tried it once and thought it was only one punch and went back to the Blaze Kick. Didn’t realize you can get more than one hit out of it. I’ll try it again next time but I dunno I like how you can get Guile’s sommersault kick with Blaze Kick too if you press the second attack button. Anyway thanks!
I prefer Sanada’s 3rd R2, it raises his attack and defense so it’s easier for him to stun bosses and harder for him to get stunned.
Fugitives give you a small boost to atk, def OR luck. And yes, as i already said, every character can get ever fugitive.
Cool thing about his 2nd R2 is also that every hit is special cancelable, even the shoryuken can be canceled into air attacks.
Also, dunno if you noticed it but when you mash on blaze kick for more hits, if you mash consistently fast enough, it can go on forever. Same with his R1.
Yeah that’s what I’ve been with both. Thanks to playing a lot of fighting games.
So far this game and Bayonetta are hands down my favorite non fighting games of the year have to say. Both are really hard to put down and a lot of fun. :clapdos:
I read some stuff online about DMC weapons in older SB games. Like Yukimura wielding twin Sparda Blades, Masamune with six Alastor Swords and Nouhime with Ebony and Ivory! Sounds awesome!
@Garasaki- I read somewhere that Fugitives that boost attack and defense give you 600 points. Maybe I misread this and it’s actually 60 points?
Fuma Kotaro is badass, but damnit he takes damage like a bitch and his special attacks don’t do that much damage =_=.
I just lost to Kanbei but mainly because I didn’t keep my distance.
