My highest record in SB2:Heroes was 2500+ hits, which I bet isn’t that high.
Also on higher difficulties, enemies attack much more frequently, much more so than they EVER do in DW.

Hanging at the NY Anime Festival and having a blast! I asked Funimation about Sengoku Basara, if they were gonna retain the name Sengoku Basara and not call it Devil Kings for the US Release of the anime. They said they still don’t know for sure but chances are that ‘Sengoku Basara’ will remain in the title. It might be called something like ‘Sengoku Basara: Devil Kings.’ Guess I can live with that. It’s kind of up to Capcom really.
There’s another Funimation panel tomorrow. I’ll ask about them dubbing Date’s Engrish ROFL! They MIIIIGHT screen SG but not sure, here’s hoping.
Oh I took a picture of 2 cosplayers dressed as Date and Sanada! To get their attention I yelled “GET YOUR GUNS ON!” After taking the picture I said “SHOW GUYS THAT!” and the Sanada said something in Japanese that I didn’t catch. TOO GOOD!
I’ve gotten an 1800+ combo with Masamune-sama in Tokugawa’s arena-like stage in 2 Heroes. That’s the only stage I play.
My highest combo in Devil Kings was 1999 hits…then I got peaced out by Puff (Itsuki).
I actaully find it dangerous to attempt combos in that stage cause of the sheer enemy variety. Place I got the 2500 with Fuuma was in the room with the 4 open doors on each corner and the reinforcement caller in Zabi’s stage
That’s awesome. I actually saw this fuckign AWESOME Azai at AX this year: http://img24.imageshack.us/i/img0337e.jpg/
BTW, where does the “GET YOU GUNS ON!” quote come from? I don’t recall hearing Date say that in SB2 or SB2:H
…and I’ve heard him say it in the anime as well.
I think the video title is wrong, it’s from SB1.
Ah, I never played SB1 and never finished the anime lol, no wonder.
They didn’t screen a trailer for the Sengoku Basara anime at the Funimation panel yesterday and they panel went longer than they expected due to technical problems. They ran out of time so there was no time for Q&A. Never got to ask them about dubbing Date’s ‘Engrish.’ Still it’s really early and chances are I wouldn’t get a straight answer anyway.
Big interview with Hiroyuki Kobayashi that mainly focuses on the Sengoku Basara franchise.

Good find. Very hype for Season 2 in 2010.
We got some good news and bad news when it comes to SB3 this week.
Good news is we get a new character: Saiga Magoichi. She’s a firearm wielder ala Nou-hime.
Bad news is that Kenshin (with Kasuga alongside him) have been listed under “enemy warlords”. Some people say it might be NPC status, but hopefully it isn’t (if only for Kasuga).
I would imagine that Kenshin’s one of the more popular characters from the series, though, so making him unplayable would mean fangirl revolt, which Capcom (hopefully) doesn’t want.
Actually, the fangirls don’t care that much for Kenshin or Kasuga. It’s really the main poster boys and the Motos that matter to them.
Any way…it’s depressing that some characters are gone. My boy Hideyoshi is basically confirmed out (because Ieyasu killed him in likely Hokuto no Ken like fashion).
They’ll be back in an expansion. But still…
I was hoping to play as Hideyoshi…oh well.
Besides…Ieyasu and Mistunari are the 2 main character in SB3, right?
I find it funny because in Samurai Warriors Saika Magoichi is a womanizing guy that basically hit on every female in SW…
Basically, yeah. Though, officially, Koba (Kobayashi) has stated that it’s more or less a 4 way split between Ieyasu, Mitsunari, Yukimura and Masamune.
Well, they can get away with the “genderbend” because technically, Magoichi is a title given to the head of the clan, not the name of any one man.
It’s hinted that this Magoichi is actually the daughter of the more famous one used by Koei. A rather nice twist.
Oh fuck a Magoichi finally, but there the hell is HATTORI HANZO?! You can’t have Ieyasu as a main character without Hanzo man =(
And yeah seems like this game will be slim on character choices, then they’ll jsut make everyone playable again in a some expansion =/
I dunno; the staff could probably try to work on “replacements” for the characters who aren’t supposed to show up in this installment; with moves or weapons which reminiscence them. But I find that doubtful.
Who knows though, maybe they could be playable in the non-story based modes or in extra “What if” scenarios? That’d be kinda cool.
And yeah, Hanzo needs to show up. I think he’d fit the current timeline that the game’s going for, right?
That would be fucking stupid since the characters are obviously already there.

I now think Ishida is pretty cool…if he’d stop whining about IEYASSSSSSUUUUUUUUUU!!!
I hope the US version keeps the Japanese voiceovers, I actually have grown ti like Ieyasu’s older voice.
Yeah, that’s why I said it’s pretty doubtful.
I think we might’ve also missed mentioning another new character in the thread who was revealed a lot earlier: Otani Yoshitsugu, an ally of Mitsunari. He looks pretty weird.
