The Sanwa and Seimitsu FAQ

Well I’m supposed to get the PS-14-Gs tomorrow  I’ll let you know how it goes…

I’m taking one for the team

Don’t worry, they should have fixed that problem out. If not, you can get a refund or get the correct ones, correct?

Anyone know if I would have any problems installing the screw in PS-14 KNs into a TE rather than the snaps?

None, they all should fit perfectly. The only problem you’ll run into is the A/X button on the TE. The stick mount will block the way of the KN nut so you have to put the nut first, under the mount, and then screw from the top.

Hey peoples. Gauging interest for these limited Sanwa balltops over in the trading outlet.

They’re 45mm, the size of “giant” balltops.

^^ Nice balltops NRX, too bad they’re soo big! Anyways, Has many people had much experience with the Sanwa OBRG? I have only used the normal OBSF and was wondering if they are that much better. Now I already now, that they are supposed to last upto five times more punishment etc. But what I really want to know, is there any other notable differences other that longevity? eg; do they feel the same? The reason why I ask is because I want to try, but if the differences are only them lasting longer then I’ll pass (due to them being much more expensive)

the normal obsf’s lasts like forever, so that must mean the OBRG LASTS…SUPER FOREVER

I think the OBRGs are supposed to last 10 times longer than the obsf’s. So like 10 million presses then?

In any case, whats the most effective way to keep the art (or maybe button itself) in clear seimitsus from moving? I’ve heard about gluing the art to the plunger, as well as just gluing the whole button into the panel.

Is there an agreed upon method to make this work?

Scotch clear double sided tape. Comes in removable and permanent. Pick your poison.

Glue sticks are good. Glue art to inner plunger.

Been looking all over for this but can’t seem to find an answer. I’m interested in green sanwa buttons but the color varies wildly between photos so i was wondering how sanwa green looks like compared to the green buttons on the agetec dreamcast stick. Are they about the same?

They’re identical in color.

Based on the fact that I have a few green sanwa balltops (which are a perfect match to the buttons) and a shit-ton of agetec green balltops and they’re identical in color.

@nitewalker

Oh…identical? That’s great! Thanks!

I have a quick question that doesn’t warrant its own thread. If you put a Sanwa shaft extender on a stick does the added length effect the function or feel of the stick at all?

Last night I restored my old PS2 Pelican Real Arcade to full working order, but I don’t care for American sticks much these days. It appears that I should be able to mount a JLF in there since the wood around the joystick mount is fairly thin but a few millimeters of added length would make it more ideal.

Then again, I could just get a LS-56, I’ve always wanted to try one out and its shaft is supposed to be longer than the LS-32 I’m used to.

Hmmm seimitsu buttons having a harder spring.
I think that’s the type of button my HRAP3 stick has.

Thanks alot your reply has just answered so many questions lol.

Can anyone tell me the dimensions of the Seimitsu Ls-64 stick? I can’t find them anywhere, I’d like to know how much space they would take to mount.

I don’t need them anymore, Akishop sent some pics. Here they are if anybody else needs them:

Posting it here too because it’s awesome:

A custom Sanwa had at their Tokyo Game Show booth. The balltop was actually on sale, transparent OBSF-30s were not. Could this mean they’re going to start making transparent parts, or was it a one-off?

Sanwa SHOULD make transparent parts… To boot, they should also produce more colors in the 24mm and screw-on button lines, too.

They lose sales to Seimitsu because they don’t have “X” color in 24mm (usually pink), OR they don’t have specialty buttons like the skeletons and clear-top Seimitsus.

It’s kind of stupid and short-sighted in my opinion… To continue to be an industry leader (even if it seems to be shrinking like the arcade scene), you have to innovate and produce new product that appeals to your existing clientele AND grows that base, too.

… And frankly I like the Sanwa buttons, better. The only things that Seimitsu makes that are comparable or better product (IMHO) are the Pearl buttons, the bubbletops, and their joystick line. I don’t like the regular Seimitsu buttons nearly as much as Sanwas.

Have you ever tried PS-14-Gs?

The G stands for Godlike.

wow those look really really nicey !
