The Sanwa and Seimitsu FAQ

Hey, I was wondering, I know there was a discontinued Sanwa button that was similar to the Seimistu PS-14 GNs/KNs but I was wondering what the name of them are and how much they might cost from someone who is willing to sell them. Thanks in advance!

I recently got an LS-56 with bat top and octo-gate. I figured it feel incredibly weird, but actually I was able to control my charcter pretty much normally. Is there a particular game/type of game this set up is especially suited for?

Sanwa never had any Button like Seimitsu PS-14-KN.

But they did have Button like PS-14-GN(???).
They were called Sanwa OBSC-30 and OBSC-30RG.

You want to buy?
$100 for a set.
Laugh.

Not kidding.

Wasn’t quite sure where to post this, so hey… here it goes.

Are you wet for Sanwa hole plugs? Well step back, son – in honor of their Rakuten store opening, they’re offering exclusive “Moss Green” 30mm and 24mm hole plugs (right is Moss Green OBSM-30-MG, left is standard OBSM-30):

How hot is that shiznit! But seriously, maybe they’ll start offering Rakuten-exclusive colors of other stuff at some point.

And what the heck?! tops-game.jp has exclusive Seimitsu buttons and balltops?

Dark Green, Navy, Turquoise and Deep Pink… dang. Does anyone know of exclusive color runs available elsewhere?

Wow, those new colours are nice. Its nice to see them producing something other than the basic colour range. I predict the navy to be very popular assuming its available worldwide.

I have two non-working LS-56-01 sticks at the moment and was wondering if it is possible to get the “substrate” PCB with the switches already mounted/soldered on. One has a chipped PCB with 4 good switches, the other has a good PCB with 3 good switches and one broken switch…

We can order it from Seimitsu directly (as we always do), they sell it to us all the time soldered and ready.

Hi, which one has a similar feel to crown buttons, sanwa or Seimitsu?.

Im thinking about buying an SE stick for TvC and mod it with Sanwa parts…wat size buttons/joystick do i need, i don’t wanna order the wrong size and get screwed…

Sanwa JLF-TP-8, not JLF-TM-8 or JLW.
Seimitsu LS-32-01 or any ending in -01.

Sanwa or Seimitsu 30mm Buttons.
Snap-in or Screw-in.

For the JLF-TP-8, do the letters after the 8 make any difference?

All Sanwa JLF are the same; some just have different prefixes to show what is added on.

Here the six variations listed in Sanwa Catalog ('07~'08):
JLF-TP-8 is Base JLF.
JLF-TP-8Y is Base JLF with the TP-MA (PCB) rotated 90°.
JLF-TP-8T is Base JLF with JLF-P-1 (Flat Mounting Plate).
JLF-TP-8YT is Base JLF with the TP-MA (PCB) rotated 90° with JLF-P-1 (Flat Mounting Plate).
JLF-TP-8S is Base JLF with the TP-MA (PCB) rotated 90° with JLF-P-1S (S Mounting Plate).
JLF-TP-8Y-SK is Base JLF with the TP-MA (PCB) rotated 90° with JLF-CD (Shaft Cover).

Of course other variations can be done too:
JLF-TP-8-SK, JLF-TP-8T-SK, JLF-TP-8S-SK, JLF-TP-8YT-SK.

I’ll just add this for completeness, since it is JLF:
JLF-TM-8 can do; JLF-TM-8T, JLF-TM-8T-SK, JLF-TM-8S, JLF-TM-8S-SK.

Just an FYI for all: JLW springs don’t work on JLF. Bought one from LL (with a batch of other stuff) and it wouldn’t fit onto the JLW shaft, even after trimming – the spring is simply too thick.

I’m considering a JLW for my next stick, anyone have one and why you went with that instead of JLF?

When I was first getting into arcade sticks, I accidentally bought a JLW. It’s possibly the worst joystick I’ve used… nowhere near as good as the JLF, LS-32 or even the HAPP sticks.

If you’re trying to get a better spring on the JLF, try replacing the JLF spring with an LS-55 spring instead.

can you put a RG switch into a regular OBSN?

Cannot.

I’m trying to swap one of my buttons on the face of my TE with the select button (which I never use) because that button jams VERY easily… however i’m having trouble removing the quick disconnects… I’m applying quite alot of force and it’s not budging… Am I doing something wrong? or do I just have to pull harder?

edit: Got it, I just needed to pull harder.

So, I see that Lizardlick has a new supply of PS-14-G snap-ins. I remember way back, there was apparently a “bad batch” of PS-14-Gs that didn’t fit into Madcatz SE and TE holes. Has this problem been fixed?

i got a question now i got a sanwa stick in my te and i did the ls32 spring on it now would there be a diffrence is i bought a semitsu stick and put it in my te? i got the idea of swapping to a semitsu stick because denjin arcade uses semitsu sticks and sanwa buttons.
