The Sanwa and Seimitsu FAQ

Question about the LS-32.

That is considered a square gate, correct? The reason I ask is because I bought an HRAP-SE (comes with LS-32) for the 360 and it all feels good but when moving the stick to the corners, it feels like a square gate but with small curves/grooves almost like a octagonal gate. It doesn’t feel like a “pure” square like a Sanwa does.

Are Seimitsu sticks like this? Can you remove the dark blue gate to make it more square like? If you look at the picture above, it looks like the light blue gate is more “square” than the dark blue one.

Sorry if that doesn’t make any sense. It is kinda hard to explain haha.

The dark blue gate kind of gets in the way of the corners on the light blue gate. When using an LS-32 in 8-way mode you should always remove the dark blue gate. It feels noticeably more square without it.

Well with the art I found may now use white button. it looked like they have different types of buttons so i am unsure which ones are compattible.

Any 30mm Japanese Button will fit:
Sanwa OBSF-30, OBSN-30, OBSF-30RG, OBSN-30RG, OBSC-30, OBSC-30RG.
Seimitsu PS-14-G, PS-14-GN, PS-14-GN(???), PS-14-GX, PS-14-GXN.
Seimitsu PS-14-K, PS-14-KN, PS-15.

well then i have one last question if among the sanwa parts they have different feels how can I judge among them without having tried every type?

There is only two type; Normal and RG.
You have tried the Normal already.
They in your Tournament Edition.

Well there is actually a third 30mm Sanwa Button.
They the Sanwa OBS-30A, OBS-30B.

But those are not standard for arcade use.
SRK Member Takahashi use them though.

RG Series are slightly stiffer.
OBS even more or something, I don’t know.
Takahashi and SRK Member crazed have experience.

Awesome. That is great to hear. When I get the chance, I will remove the dark blue gate and be good to go.

Anyone know if it would be more appropriate to mount an ls-40-01 in a TE w/ a flat or an S plate? I thought it had a similar shaft length to the ls-32, which people use an S-plate with often, so I wasnt sure.

also would removing that secondary restrictor from an ls-40 give it the square feel of the main restrictor? currently its more of a semicircle due to the size of the actuator and not being able to totally fit in the corners of that subguide

Use Seimitsu SS Mounting Plate on LS-40(-01) to get correct height in Tournament Edition.

HRAP 3 SA with Seimitsu Stick

im thinking to change my JLF Stick for a LS-56-01. Will i need a different mount plate? or just the one who comes with the LS-56-01 will do?

You need to buy the MS Mounting Plate. Put that on the LS-56-01 and then it’ll mount the same as a JLF does.

You can scoop one up along with your LS-56-01 at Gamingnow.net or lizardlick.

Just a quick question, How comparable are Seimitsu PS-14-GNC to Sanwa OBSF 30s?

Do the seimitsu buttons require far more pressure to activate or are they similiar enough that the difference is negligible?

Are the seimitsu buttons noisier?

Thanks!

I’ve never tried them but from what I’ve hear the seimitsu are a bit stiffer than Sanwa but not a lot stiffer. They’re in between Sanwa and iL in terms of stiffness.

Noise I’m not sure about but why do you want to know? Do you want quiet buttons or do you like a specific sound (I like the clicky sound). Most buttons are loud when you’re playing but they will sound a bit different.

hi there!

im a complete noob regarding electronics and modding… could you help me with this?

i have a TE Stick but i want to test a Seimitsu LS 56 ont it.

i ordered a Seimitsu LS 56, but this model doesnt have PCB, so i cant connect it. The original Sanwa JLF PCB doesnt fit.

Can i take the original Sanwa PCB and use it with the Seimitsu LS 56?

or should i buy a Seimitsu LS 56 - 01 instead?? (i didnt know only Seimitsu LS 56 - 01 comes with PCB until now… :frowning: )

If you switch the Sanwa PCB into the Seimitsu you’re basically just playing on a Sanwa with Seimitsu spring…

You would have to buy the 01 or solder the wires to the Seimitsu’s microswitches.

ouch! it seems i made a mistake ordering LS 56 insted LS 56 01 then :wasted:

thank you very much mate :pleased:

Hey guys I need to order some sanwa buttons and i was wondering who here has orderd from lizard lick so that they can tell me how long it takes to get the buttons. Im going to a tournament in about 3 weeks and i want to have my stick ready. Thanks.

very nice write up and good info

According to their website they are about 2-3 weeks behind in filling orders atm so if you need your stuff in 3 weeks you should probably look elsewhere this time.

Random Question: Has there ever been more than two versions of the JLW (talking about TM here, not UM) I mean did they change it between the SNES era and now?

I am asking because I opened up the JLW in my CPS Fighter Stick and the Spring looks different than what I see in pics (and I am pretty sure it hasn’t been modded, none of the screws have any sign of tampering):

The coil of the spring is somewhere between the LS-32 and 33, but nowhere close to that of the JLW. It is nothing really (I think) but I just found it odd.
