How can you tell the difference between Seimitsu or Sanwa models? Do they have model numbers imprinted somewhere? I have a candy cab and it has one Seimitsu stick and one Sanwa, trying to figure out which models they are.
sanwa wise it will either be a jlf or jlw. But more than likely its a jlf.
Seimitsu wise, not sure if there is anything on the sticks themselves that will help you identify them. But visually you can tell which stick it is. Different sticks have different types of gates, different color parts, etc. If you can take a pic, it will help alot.
The third one (NO) is normally open, not normally on. In the ānormalā state (the button is left alone, nothing pressing it in) the ānormally closedā contact point is connected to the ācommonā contact. That is, the circuit between COM and NC is normally closed. At the same time the ānormally openā contact point is disconnected from the ācommonā contact. That is, the circuit between COM and NO is normally open.
I donāt mean to nitpick but getting terminology right when talking on the technical side makes things easier for everyone.
Oh Dick.
I meant to type Open, not On.
I was hurry to leave at Midnight.
Stupid me typing On.
Blast me if want.
AHH! I feel so bad about this.
You donāt know.
I hate this.
Just coming back to type that I am sorry.
I really am.
Serious.
I like things to be correct also.
This is really getting me.
I too have never understood this. I own both and like the LS-40 a lot better. Shorter throw and the pivot doesnāt lift up when you hit the gate like on the LS-32. But in my opinionā¦LS-56 rules them all-Stiff tension, compact, short engage, and if you like octogates this one is the best.
The LS-56 spring wonāt fit either the LS-40 or 32 because it is too narrowā¦Iāve tried.
Thanks again JDM. Didnāt know I could order just the switch alone.
Iāll let you guys know how it fits in the TE although I am suspecting that the black plastic will need to be cut.
Here are the pics of the sanwa and seimitsu, only had time to get pics of the bottom because I was running late to work. Do they help?
Seimitsu:

Sanwa:

The Seimitsu stick has a red shaft cover on it if that helps any and the Sanwa doesnāt have a shaft cover on it, just silver.
Thanks for any help!
Seimitsu LS-40-01 and Sanwa JLF-TP-8.
Damn it. mustve gotten the ls33 and ls40 spring options confused. Guess a homedepot spring will have to do then
sky- Damn, JDM beat me to it. lol
Thanks for the help guys!
Havenāt decided on which stick to get, but Iām looking to get one to match the other. From the looks of it, I think both are mounted using S mounting plates? Will I be able to install either stick to either side?
Iāll take a closer look when I get off of work today but I was wondering if I needed to match the mounting plates or can I use the ones already in there?
I have no idea how to remove the clip from the LS-32 to change out the springā¦ lol Looks like Iāll have to buy a ls56 unless anyone here has some tips.
Does anyone know of where or if Sanwa makes white RGās? I like the feel of them and want to grab a set but I cannot even find them listed on the big seller sites. Were they even made and if not could I just shove the RG switch into a regular button?
I never saw a Black or White Sanwa OBSF-30RG or OBSN-30RG before.
Cannot put Sanwa RS-RG Microswitch into regular Button.
The size not fit.
Thanks man, I searched up and down and I couldnāt find the correct key words to bring me to that page (Iād seen it before). Anyways, I found the tool at Mcmaster at its 20$. Iād rather just buy an LS-56 for that much ya know. I think I have some needlenose pliers though so Iāll try that solution first. I need more tension (My wrist is bad for dashing). So anyways, good looking out.
I definitely prefer the Seimetsu switches to the Sanwa. I pulled my extra spring out of the JLF and played with both sticks, a huge difference without even having to mod. Thanks everyone for this thread.
That sucks. Do those Cherry looking OB-30ās feel like an RG?
I ummā¦ found some Flat-Nose Pliers in my house and used them to pry the clip open on the LS-32. It takes two people but it works flawlessly lol. I added a single Home Depot Spring and AMAZING. So happy.
just droppping a line to say thanks all the info obtainable on SRK has been a big help (if only it coulde revive my xbox)
just a question ,how is the LS-33 (Seimitsu) for fighting games?
iām used to the sanwa JLW, but iād like to try this stickā¦anyone?
I like the Seimitsu LS-33 because it is very light to move.
It might not center fast enough for you because of the bounciness.
