The Sanwa and Seimitsu FAQ

venture- People that dont want a button as sensitive as sanwa go with seimitsu. Its a known fact. If you had to describe the feel of a seimitsu button its inbetween a sanwa and hori button, but made with better quality than hori of course.

What is a good way to stiffen up a LS-56?
I have two LS-56 springs, but I donā€™t think I can put them both on at once, the ā€œtubeā€ it goes into barely fits one as it is.

Would anything be achieved by replacing the stock buttons on my TE with Sanwa RG buttons?

Just curious, why would you want to mod the buttons on your TE when theyā€™re the parts people mod their sticks with?

Itā€™d be along with an artwork mod

emerl- Not really, they would last alot longer than regular sanwas. But they dont have the same feel to them.

Demon- SOME people use sanwa parts, not everyone

I use Seimitsu mostly because I like flat buttons.
However I also like Sanwa OBS-M-1 switches.

OMG that is amazing. Iā€™m guessing Cherry microswitches fit into that sleeve as well?

Does anyone know where I can get just the sleeve or even just the switch+sleeve (no button)? Aki has the buttons with those switches but since I already have buttons and donā€™t really want to pay 5$ each ā€¦

I just want my TE to not be so soft :frowning:

You can buy from AkihabaraShop.jp site.

On the same page you saw the Buttons.
Second Drop-down Menu is where the Microswitch is; OBS-M-1.

Sorry for not reading the past 50+ pagesā€¦ but I tried searching and failā€¦

I have both LS-32-01 and LS-56 joysticksā€¦ After researching, I have the impression that people think LS-32-01 has stiffer spring compared to LS-56, but for some reason for mine LS-56 feel stiffer. Does it mean that my LS-32-01 just got looser after time? (I bought this secondhandedā€¦ so who knows how long he owned it before meā€¦ I bought the LS-56 new)

Also, I read from the OP that LS-32-01 can be set for 8 way operation with the given restrictorā€¦ For some reason I can only set it into the square gate and 4-way operation (north, south, west, eastā€¦ I have no idea what itā€™s called) Does anyone know how to set the restrictor into 8 way? (which I believe means octogonalā€¦ please correct me if Iā€™m wrong)

Thanks for your help

Spring of Seimitsu LS-56(-01) is stiffer than LS-32(-01).

There is not currently available Octagon Restrictor for Seimitsu LS-32(-01).
Very long ago it did for LS-32.

Octagonal Main Guide available for Seimitsu LS-56(-01).

8-Way does not mean Octagon.
The Restrictor Gate on Sanwa JLF, GT-8F, is Square.
The Square is both 4-Way and 8-Way; just set the Gate.

Sanwa Octagonal Restrictor Gate, GT-Y, and Seimitsu Octagon will always be 8-Way.

Joystick movement is by restriction of the Gate to Microswitches.
Not by the number of sides a Restrictor Gate has.

Even a modified Square into Six-side is still 8-Way.

Thanks for the reply. That helps a lot!

Iā€™m just curiousā€¦

Why doesnā€™t the LS-40 really receive much attention? Itā€™s the best stick Iā€™ve used out of the lot, but the only cabs I ever find it on are the older NeoGeo ones. Is it the short throw/engage that turns off most stick users? Why isnā€™t it used more often in other cabs?

Canā€™t answer that, but I had a few questions about the LS-40. How is it different from the LS-32-01? I heard it had the same spring as it. Is the throw/engage shorter than the 32?

Yes, much shorter from what I can tell. I used to have both.

man, i have yet to try an ls40, but i plan to get one next. Whenever i do order it though, ill get a 56 spring also just incase i dont like the stock tension.

Curious about these, do they provide the same tactile feedback like how the JLF joystick does?** Also**, do these fit good in the TE stick?

I really want a more springy and tactile feel and if these micro switches provide this then Iā€™ll be putting in an order over at Aki shop.

Here is TheRealNeoGeoā€™s say on it:

I donā€™t know how hard it will be to remove the rivets to take out Microswitch.
But just buy the Microswitch separately if you can find.
It is Omron V-10G-1A5-K.
That is exact.

You can get V-10G-1C25-K if you want.
The only difference is this doesnā€™t have big hole in Contact to put wire through for soldering like the other.
It has a hole, just not big like V-10G-1A5-K.

You can also go for V-10G-3A5-K or V-10G-3C25-K.
Difference is that there are only two Contacts; one for Common, one for Normally Open (SPST-NO).

With the V-10G-1A5-K and V-10G-1C25-K, there are three Contact; one for Common, one for Normally Closed, one for Normally Open (SPDT).

In using for arcade stuff, you will just use Normally Open.
So it does not matter which Microswitch you get.

They do click.
I do not know if it fits, I have mine in an Hori Real Arcade Pro. 2 SA.

im sorry, but it is a known fact that the ls56 spring is stiffer than the ls32s spring. Not sure where you got your original info from. I think the ls56 has the stiffest stock spring than any other japanese stick(in stock form)
