Alright, so the plexiglass and metal together are 3/16" or 4.7625mm.
I got some pictures of the HAPP sticks’ mounts, which I’ll put up later. They’re mounted perfectly flat against the underside of the metal. There’s no brackets or anything like that.
Just measured the jlf with a bracket on it and its a hair over 32mm. so that would put it at something close to 27.24mm plus we have to take in account the thickness of the jlw bracket which is probably something close to 1.5 - 2 mm. So it will work out. If anything you can use acouple of flat washers as spacers if it still sits too high.
Is this the same cab you had to lug up the stairs to your new apartment in Dallas? I remember reading about that in the neogeo forums. Im pretty new to those forums though.
Yes indeed it is. The controls are the least of my worries, my monitor needs a cap kit and some adjustment too. And I’ve seen you around N-G, I tend to notice most Texas folk
So I got around to putting in an LS-32-01 in my TE. When I went to go test it out I pressed right and it went down, and no other directions registered. I realized I had to turn the PCB 90 degrees. After I did that and the connector for the joystick was facing the same way as the Sanwa was, I tried it again. This time down was down, but no other direction did anything. Is there something I did wrong or something else I have to do or was it possible that I ordered a bad joystick?
Also if it matters, I didn’t put the blue 2-4 way adapter back in, since I heard it wasn’t necessary.
The blue gate is the “sub guide”, it screws in underneath the light blue / turquoise gate which is the main guide. The sub guide is unnecessary for 8 way play and slightly interferes at the corners. In short, it’s safe to take the darker blue gate off as long as the main light blue one stays on. Actually, I’m not even sure if it’s been completely proven that leaving both gates off entirely does damage, but the throw is so large with them off that it’s probably not worth finding out.
Thanks, I put the 5-pin connector upside down and it works perfectly. However the LS-32-01 is a bit different than I though it would be. I imagined it feeling tighter since I heard about it having a tighter spring. It feels pretty loose, almost as much as the JLF. Is it just me or does the reduced throw make it harder to avoid the gates during motions? Guess I’ll have to work on that.
Has anyone tried an LS-56-01? I assume it goes in like the 32-01, but I read the spring is tighter. I’m thinking of getting that but I would like opinions first.
fullauto-
In comparison the ls32 is stiffer than the jlf. I dont know how long you have been using a jlf, but when i first used the LS32 i immediately noticed the difference. Try using a jlf for acouple of hours then use a ls32, it like day and night to me. The ls32 takes some getting used to. Remember its all in the wrists, even more so with the ls32 and ls56.
Height/mounting wise the LS56 is more like a jlf since it has a longer shaft compared to the ls32. Yes, the ls56 has a stiffer spring and feels pretty good, it also has the shortest throw compared to the others. It takes alittle time to get used to. Infact i injured one of my fingers on my left hand and have been using the ls56 since i dont have to move my hand around as much to get the motions.
I have all 3 stick in front of me now , and you can tell how the spring tension varies between the sticks. Its really all about preference. IMO you should get pretty familiar with a stick before you make a switch. For most people the JLF will work, im just a fan of the LS32.
Any more opinions on the LS-56-01? I’m pretty interested in it. Do you guys find it easier to bump into the gate? Anyone tried Octo/Circle gate with it?
Only an octo gate is available for the ls56, and it is far superior than the sanwa octo since it doesnt change the throw distance.
I dont have any problems with riding the gate, i guess its just practice. Once you learn you wont ride the gate on either stick.
