The Sanwa and Seimitsu FAQ

They do have a circular one though.

I can do them(although sometimes i get a random jump if i get frantic), but its the qcf x 2 motions that are really bugging me.

Iā€™m not too sure on drilling holes, so I think Iā€™ll just keep practicing.

Thanks though!

Iā€™m sorry to post this as a question, but I am trying to find out the ā€˜thicknessā€™ of the Sanwa JLF-P1-S ā€œSā€ mounting plate. I could find measurements, but only ā€˜2Dā€™ with the thickness missing. I now have a Seimitsu LS-32-01 and want to build a case that will eventually work for both sticks. As it will be my very first stick I am worried that I mess up the height of the sticks (the part of the shaft above the stickā€™s surface).
Thanks!

Thereā€™s no reason to apologize. Good job on posting here instead of starting a whole new thread like most idiots do. The thickness of the JLF-P1-S plate is 1.5mm

Thanks paik!

From the technical drawings I see that the LS-32 has a 27mm shaft between the top of the mounting plate and the ball. The JLF-TP has 34mm.

When I use the JLF with a standard plate in the same mounting position as the Seimitsu with the s-plate (which has a 5mm offset) then the JLF would be only 2mm ā€˜longerā€™ than the LS-32.
Would that difference (2mm) be disturbing if I swap out the sticks? Iā€™ve now seen at slagcoinā€™s page that it is common to mount sticks with 23mm-24mm of shaft between the top of the control panel and the bottom of the ball top.

Reason I ask is because Iā€™m trying to build a carbon fiber stick that will only have a single top layer (as in no artwork/acrylic on top) to have the carbon fiber to show in full. So I would need to mount the stick more recessed compared to a 2-panel design.

HES The Tank joystick modding

Hi all, Iā€™ve been looking for an answer to my question all over the place but canā€™t find anything.
I just bought a new joystick for my PS3 after falling in love with fighting games again.
I bought a stick built in Australia using what I think are Happ parts. The microswitches say CHERRY on themā€¦

http://www.gamesmen.com.au/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=23233

My question is will I be able to just drop Sanwa/Seimitsu parts into this stick? Iā€™d like to swap in a JLF and Seimitsu buttons. The wiring is quick disconnects with a common ground wire between the components. I can be more specific if necessary and provide pictures, but hopefully someone will know

Thanks very much for any replies, hopefully this is the correct thread for this question.

BMXWoody.

Happ joysticks and buttons have different dimensions than Sanwa/Seimitsu parts. Youā€™re talking about different joystick hole sizes, different button hole sizes (very slightly), different panel thickness needs (if you have snap-ins), and a different mounting hole pattern than the Happ.

It definitely wouldnā€™t be a ā€˜drop-inā€™ process.

So I subbed my JLF order for a LS-32 on my SE Stick. I was told the JLF was pretty much a drop in, but have heard conflicting reports on the LS-32. Since Iā€™ve been waiting since the 22nd I figure I might as well ask to see if Iā€™ll need some tools or any other instructions to put this new stick in.

Thanks in advance.

Thankyou for the fast reply AK. The case is made of sheet metal and has a heavy duty black coating on it. Inside all the components are mouted directly to the sheet metal (screw type buttons and bolts through the top plate for the joystick)

I plan on using screw type buttons (the clear seimitsu ones) so would it be feasible to use a reamer in a drill to fix the button hole sizes and simply drill out new mounting holes in the JLF mounting plate to suit the Happ holes?

I do this sort of thing for a living so it seems easy to me, am I missing something crucial here?

Also which mounting plate would I need for the JLF?

Thanks again to anyone gracious enough to read/reply to this noob question

BMXWoody.

Hey guys, since the JLFs are gone- I decided to go with the LS-40 because some people seem to like the short throw. I had a question about mounting depth for the LS-40.

I am using a 3.4mm thick plastic control panel, and I was thinking of removing the LS-40 metal plate and bottom-mounting the blue plastic piece to the CP. Since the handle-to-plate is 29mm to begin with, and the mounting plate is 1.6mm, I would essentially end up with a handle-to-CP depth of ~27mm.

That said, for the LS-40ā€¦ Is 27mm still too far off from the ideal mounting height of 24mm?

I think you should be fine as the LS-40 shaft is a little longer than most sticks meant to be mounted directly below the panel (LS-32, 33, 40, and some JLW variants). You can always experiment with the various LS-32 plates if you really want to since the mounting plates are compatible.

quick two second question

Can I install the JLF mounting plate vertically rather then horizontally?

EDIT: My post hurts my eyes.

yep you can

currently i have a seimitsu stick and love it. but when i go to play at tournaments, they most likely have sanwa style sticks so my execution gets ugly. i want to order a sanwa stick when the shops start taking orders again. i should be able to swap them out without changing the panel, right? slagcoin seems to have done it ā€“

any complications i may run into?

What is the maximum depth of the controller panel if I use Sanwa OBSN-30?

Thanks

Sanwa Buttons - ground pin?

Hi thereā€¦

I just got my delivery of sanwa buttons, im still at workā€¦
so cant wait to go home and try them out.

I just noticed that the sanwa buttons only has 2 pins from the microswitch.
but thereā€™s no markings as to which is ground which is the signal pin.

have i missed something?
i tried to do a search, but the search function doesnā€™t seem to be working.

any help would be greatā€¦ so i can go home and start straight away.

cheers.

Both pins will work as either, it doesnā€™t matter which is which.

edit: beaten

Iā€™m looking for dimensions or a 1:1 print for the Seimistsu S-plate.
Done a lot of searching with no luck only to find dims for the flate plate.
The slagcoin diagram doesnā€™t provide enough details.
It looks like the S-plate is not as long and has the obvious increased height.
