The Sanwa and Seimitsu FAQ

I have a question about the 24mm seimitsu with clear plungers. I seen in other threads you can put art under the skeleton 30mm buttons so I was wondering if you can do the same for the 24 since it also has a clear plunger.

RE-Mountingplate would be great for you I think (dunno what you gonna mount it in though, dunno what stick you have).

Yes you can.

What the differences between the seimitsu ls-32 and all the other sticks? how does it feel in terms of response and its stiffness compare to ls 32?

edit: thanks

first and foremost go to www.slagcoin.com, he has a chart that gives the charactoristics of every stick on the planet. From personal experience itā€™s like a sloppier version of the JLF. It is lever actuated and you can feel that. It is has a shorter shaft than most other sticks so it can be a pain to mount. If you leave the dark blue gate on it makes the corners a little less sharp than those on the JLF. As with all sticks itā€™s personal preference. I personally like the LS-56 with an octo gate, but thatā€™s just me.

hi does anyone know if its possible to buy a sanwa stick that isnt so lose , quite stiff and returns to neutral quick and has very little deadzone space . Want to fit this inside a RHAP

the only sanwa stick to get is the JLF. TheRealNeoGeo has a video on how to add a second spring to make it stiffer, & reduse the deadzone. It already has a Very good return to nutral aspect,& adding the second spring will probably make it return to center even faster.

WOW awesome stuff thx for the reply

Hereā€™s a quick question.

I have the Street Fighter Annaversary Collection stick and was wondering if the clear screw-in Seimitsu buttons would be long enough to put in there without any modding to the actual box.

Nope, I just tried that myself. I was going to dremel down the sides to make them fit, but I got tired (after doing one) and just ordered some Happ convex pushbuttons.

So what other options do I have for clear buttons then? I really wanted to do a full custom art that didnā€™t get covered up.

Well the material is nothing more than hard cardboard. just use a dremel and shave down a few centimeters. Thats what I wouldā€™ve done if I wasnt a lazy motherfucker.

Doesnā€™t sound too hard, Iā€™ll give it a shot. But can the Happ buttons be taken apart like the Seimitsu ones?

They can, but I donā€™t think they have any clear ones where you can put your artwork in.

I may be wrong, though, so if anyone else knows Iā€™d like to know as well.

Excellent thread, helped me out a lot. Thanks!

(whoops wrong thread, brilliant work from me)

Question about modding a Street Fighter Annaversary Collection stick. This is my first time modding a stick. I have replaced the buttons with Sanwas and that was easy. The hard/confusing part is replacing the original joystick. I got a JLF-TP-8YT and donā€™t quite know how to wire it to the original pcb.

The original stick has QDs and the JLF has a 5 pin connection. A picture of the Street Fighter stickā€™s wiring can be seen at this web site. http://www.arcadestickmonk.com/SFACmod.html

So would I just cut 5 of the 7 wires from the pcb and hook up the 5 pin cable for the JLF? That is what I am thinking but I donā€™t know which wires to exactly cut. It has 2 red wires, one is ground and the other is for down and select. The one for down and select is the one I am confused about. If I cut that one and hook it up according to this diagram, http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g217/NiteWalkerGR/Misc%20Pics/sanwakopplingen.jpg , will the joystick be able to use the down function and will the select button work?

I have some seimitsu microswitches that fit PS-14-K-N (30mm) buttons. I also have some sanwa microswitches.

I managed to open the sanwa microswitches with relative ease, but I am stumped opening seimitsu ones. Anyone managed doing so or better yet got a tutorial?

Just curious is why. killed_cat/jpg

Do Seimitsu 24mm Pearl buttons exists, did they ever existed?

Answer from Akihabarashop.jp:
ā€œIt does not exist.ā€

I have a bit of a strange question. As I play mostly fighting games like Mortal Kombat, SF II CE, King of Fighters, I made the big mistake to get the HRAP 3, although I am a multiple times champion on American sticks. Now I own the X-Arcade Tankstick USB and it feels like a champion`s tool, but the HRAP 3 is still in my posession.I have put a Seimitsu LS-32 inside, and some forum members insisted that I change it for Sanwa Joystick JLW-UM, maybe with a round plate.Would you recommend that change?

Iā€™m a stick noob.

How much of a difference is there in the looseness/stiffness between the american/japanese sticks? Can I get used to the japanese sticks?

Also, concerning the catalogs, do the current models connect by usb? I canā€™t read japanese.

Last thing, can you order these from play-asia?
