The Sanwa and Seimitsu FAQ

Is the seimitsu skeleton buttons the same as the Sanwa OBSF-30 except its clear? And what are the stock buttons on a hori t5 stick? thanks

I’m pretty sure those are Sanwa OBSF-30 buttons, but the sticks I’m not so sure. Probably Sanwa JLF. The shafts look longer than Seimitsu LS-32. It could be one of the other sticks, but JLF and LS-32s are usually found in arcade machines for 3s (IIRC).

The skeleton buttons are the same size, but you’ll have to screw them on instead of snapping them on unless you can find yourself a set of Seimitsu PS-14-K buttons. Also, the microswitches in the buttons themselves are different. Sanwa buttons are more sensitive than the Seimitsu skeleton buttons.

As for the stock Hori T5 buttons, they’re exactly that. They’re crappy Hori brand buttons.

are the seimitsu skeleton buttons snap in?

There are two types

Seimitsu PS-14-K (snap-in; discontinued)
Seimitsu PS-14-KN (screw-in; still in production)

aight thanks, why are the ps-14-k discontinued though?

Perhaps Seimitsu thought more people would buy screw-in type buttons.

Perhaps Seimitsu is just mean. :wgrin:

Is there a softer / more loose spring then the one in the Seimitsu LS-33?

I like to think its the latter… Bastards =\

LS-33 is more loose than any other Sanwa or Seimitsu stick.

Question, it seems that under/without the mounting plate, the JLF has 4 screw holes (No homo) in a square arrangement as opposed to the mounting plates rectangular, is it possible to just use these holes without a mounting plate and would there be any consequences? Does the JLW have this? And/Or does the JLW’s square mounting plate holes match up with the JLF without a mounting plate? If not, what about the JLW without the mounting plate and the JLF without as well? This would need a response from the other JLW question as well.

Do they use Seimistu or Sanwa at SBO? Anyone know? Because I think that the sticks used in my post above are the same type. I have heard that they used Seimitsu at SBO, but of course no confirmation.

Dumb question but I need a stick that returns to neutral (aka the deadzone) quicker than the Sanwa JLF. I would also like a slightly longer engagement but with the throw about the same. I don’t really care about gate. What stick would be best for me?

JLF is clone LS56 all is the same (I do not know who stoated project seimitsu from sanwa or sanwa from seimitsu.) only engage is faster and harder spring give you faster centring.
LS33 and LS55 do not use bearings centring how americkan joystick fast. but LS55 has longer throw, best buy LS33 and harder spring from LS55 fit corect diameter is the same, LS56 spring diameter is different but fit.

So do the LS-33 and 55 reflect when they center like American joysticks do? Also, can I get a PCB version of the LS-33 or use a pcb from another stick in it? Which spring is better, the LS-55 or the 56?

Also, I have a HRAP2 and am not sure if I can mount the LS-33 at the proper height. What would be the next best joystick then?

Edit: So the LS-33 and 55 center faster than the pivot based japanese sticks?

a bit, but this is not pathological

LS55-01 PCB fit

You need S-mountplante from LS32 and to bore 4 hole, analogous to mountplate from LS33, is easy

spring LS55/LS56 matter of taste. two years ago I used spring from LS55 (mod SoulCalibur Hori Stick for friend) now LS56.

I was thinking of the “Ultimate JLF Mod” but the throw looks a bit too short.

you need short throw? - buy suzo:P

and update new measurements spring

JLF - 160g
LS32 - 180g
LS33 - 100g
LS40 - 170g
LS55 - 160g
LS56 - 207,5g

sry dont feel like looking through 23 pgs so hope someone can tell me whta the difference is between a sanwa jlf and a jlw is there any difference in performance any feedback would be appreciated?

Substitute answer until you get a real one: I’ve heard that many (all?) JLW’s have problems hitting one or more corners. Go with JLF.
