Thanks Preppy!
So here is my SRB:Revival post mortem. Overall, things went pretty well. That being said, there were a couple of hitches.
First, my apologies to the 4th place winners in AE and Marvel for the payout issue. I did my best to make it right with you guys, and there won’t be any more mixups in the future.
Also, apologies to Will and Mar for the issues with their match. Tournaments are stressful enough without having to worry about the TO making mistakes, so I will try to be more careful next time.
To all the people who got into confrontations last night: NOT COOL. This was our first time at the Spitfire, and this kind of behavior is not the way to represent our community. Thankfully the people there were very considerate, but honestly, the number of times myself or Jetay or someone else had to intervene to prevent conflicts was a little ridiculous. So, new rule going forward: anyone involved in any kind of serious argument or physical confrontation is out. Don’t care who started it. We don’t need this kind of behavior at our events.
Lastly, there was an individual at the event last night who a number of you dealt with and had complaints about. I’m not going to name names, but know that this person wasn’t a participant in any of the events, and the people who had issues should know who I’m talking about. This person is connected to an upcoming event, however. I know people are pissed, and what the results of that can be (AFK anyone?). I just ask that they show a little restraint and let me talk to the guy before things blow up.
Problems aside, it seemed like everyone had a good time for the most part. Shoutouts to the foot clan for holding down the stream, all the people who ran brackets, Deniz for basically being my right hand man the entire night (and running the tournament while i snuck off to get a few games in), everyone who brought setups, the out of towners who drove hella far to participate, and all the people who came out and made this a great event. Good shit Northwest!
Damn, sorry to hear that mike, but were there is booze there will be buffoons. Here’s hoping the next one goes over better.
I also like the professional attitude you have. Assessing the outcome of the event and figuring out ways to make it better. The honesty, assertiveness and your open mind have my total respect and support.
Sounds like fun.

I didn’t even know about the confrontations until later… must’ve been completely zoned out :o
But I had fun, I’m glad I was able to finally make it out to one of these!

I was a little sad that we didn’t have the same food deal as the other times, until I had some sliders. Damn those things were awesome.
Thanks again for setting this up Mike, sorry to hear about the almost fights, though I’m with BBH because I didn’t notice them at all. Can’t wait for the next event!
Agreed, the food there is amazing. Next time I hope to do better.
