The Sacramento (916)- "cuz we hype as S***" Thread!

Just got home - GGs to everyone I played…

BAD GAMES with that Anniversary Stick!!! :chainsaw:

thx for hosting.

sorry i killed all ur pizza, i left my chips and drinks there to compensate =)

GGs, nice to finally get some SF4 practice in. We need more Marvel next time!

Good times.
Thanks again for hosting, KurosShin.

God damn there was hella people  Very great turn out to say the least. So much shit went down that night, I am truly happy so many games were played (even battle fantasia or w/e, i can’t even spell that shit). My only regret is not hopping on Marvel when the Blackheart players were playing, but other than that things were tight. That was a great gathering. 12 hour straight game session that made my eyes bleed  A few shout outs:

Kuroshin: Aye man, thanks for having us over, having food and drinks, and playing everything pretty much lol. Had a good damn time and ended up playing for like 12 hours (probably more hours than I should have), so thanks for having us over for as long as you did. I only hope that you as the host had as much fun as the guests and didn’t have to fix up the living room too much. Dunno who your friend was who was playing that battle fantasia but guy had me cracking up to the point of crying within a few minutes (rainforest Dan, lol). So much energy for a human being, and it carried on till everyone left. GG’s bro, thanks for the Guilty Gear sessions.

Tyram: You already know what it is man. Glad you came down and had some SFIV sessions with us. Sorry we couldn’t get no marvel going, but maybe next time we can hop on that. If we keep getting frequent gatherings it’d be easier for me to try and learn CVS2, but shit its hard to practice when we don’t really kick it too often. Next time see me in some Guilty Gear

vasAZNion13: Didn’t game too much, but heck I guess I’ll catch you online at late nights again. Glad you broke outta your lazy mode and came down man. I will beat Cammy some day shakes fist. Wish I had my pad so I stood some kind of a chance against you. No more random mid-screen super shinanigans :wonder: Thanks for bringing Tyram on by

Ansatsuken-TKD: Glad you showed up man. I see you decided to bring out your secret weapon, the blanka ball. Next time i will have it all figured out as to how to beat that brazilian more effectively. It’s like i’m a fool for electricity, i always get hit by it lol. gg’s once again, probably shoulda slapped in that NGBC or KOFXI for ya but got caught up in the SFIV madness and what not. Until next time amigo

Arek: Hey man, nice to see ya out there and finally get some games in. Keep up the serious work with the Chun, thats some good shit so far. Really had fun playing you and learning the Chun vs Viper matchup. I gotta stop being a suck for that damn kick  Next time we play, more random supers and grab madness. It was a pleasure meeting you  gg’s

TS: Finally I know who this man is. Had fun playing you in SFIV even though the converters lagged or something which forced me to use mainly charge characters. Hope you had fun learning SFIV all over again (you must have seeing that large streak you had  ). Next time we play we, we have to play awake. We were both practically asleep playing this morning lol. gg’s man.

dirzzt360: You stockton guys are funny. Of all the people in the room, I had no problem identifying you guys  Hope yall had fun and enjoyed some of the Sacramento competition. It was fun playing you and your friend. gg’s to both of ya

And gg’s to all those whom i played but forgot names or don’t know the handles. The turnout was amazing, and the place was packed. That is how you throw down a get together. BAD FUCKING GAMES to the house that had a party. Had some guy direct me to that damn house because he thought thats what i was looking for even though i told him the number of the house. :wasted: What made it weirder was that he asked if i was looking for a place to stay and everything  Of course, if i had more common sense, this all would have been avoided. Not sure how we missed the court, but eh whatever. Man i’m beat  Just remembered i was the youngest one in the room :o

A couple lines last night that made me rofl.
“what the shit is that in the middle tv? Is that sf4 championship edition?”

“His name is fucking FACE. FACE

And practically everything else KuroShin’s friend said.

rain forest dan. Holy fuck, like geezer, I almost cried laughing.

When did you break the will of the forsaken and come back to life?

Wtf is this about people in sac playing this game called marvel!?

Lazy Saturday, had to sleep that “night” off, even though it didn’t end till almost 7:00 AM

Damn, that was a crazy night. Had a lot of things going on. Didn’t know what to expect on turnout after hearing from Gamegeezer how his get together turn out was. Maybe it was the promise of free food that helped people make it out? (8 pizzas and 40 cans of soda were destroyed) Hope everyone enjoyed it, although it was more crowded than I anticipated. Event came and went without any big issues. Play went on from dusk till dawn. People got their grub on. Everyone showed . So yeah, I’m making a note here, huge success.

I had a number of friends mixed in as well.
The loud black guy was a long time friend, hope he didn’t cause too much discomfort from the inflection in his voice. He brought the large LCD and a PS3 so I was a little on edge since I didn’t want any accidents happening to his things.
There was a group on the far side of the room playing on CRT. One of them was a friend who use to play at the folsom game room and brought some buddies of his around. If they’re on SRK I’d just like to thank them for showing. They brought their SF4 heat.
Couple of friends who I hang out with showed up and were part of the remaining crowd around the end of the night. One was working on his Abel and the other was bringing Gen.
There are few more friends of mine who didn’t play, but I’d like to thank them for showing up.

Arek
Good games man. Your Chun-li pressure is good. You need to link them ex Legs into Ultras when near the corner. Get an arcade stick and get off the d-pad. Your execution will be a lot better.

TS
Wish I got more of a chance to play against you, but I think those converters PS2 -> PS3 cause input lag…so I migrated over to the 360 rotation hehe. I can’t imagine how much of a hassle it was to make it to my place for you though. Hats off for the dedication man.

Gamegeezer
First to arrive with your boy Abraham, you guys stayed to the end. Thanks for the matches in SF4 and GGXX AC which nobody else was willing to really touch. My 3rd strike skills suck, so I was just scrubbin’ it up hahah . Need to hang out with more people like you willing to play all the random fighting games that come out :razzy:.

** Ansatsuken-TKD**
Glad you finally made it to the party after driving all over sac searching for the place . Pretty good matches in SF4. So many people around, didn’t get to really sit down and just play half the time.

dirzzt360
Thanks for taking that hour drive to show up. Hope you guys were able to get in a few good games. Hella chaotic all night, so much thanks for setting up the PS3. Sorry your boy didn’t get to use a d-pad in SF4. On another note, you need to replace those buttons in that anniversary stick. Supplying beer , although the majority didn’t even drink . Oh and best line of the night, “My wife would destroy her.”

Tyram
I see your as competitive as ever. Nice job repping in SF4, MvC2, CvS2, SF2HD, and did I see Hokuto No Ken at one point. Amazed people actually play that game.

vasAZNion13
You have got to have the most technical play in SF4. All that cammy shit blew my mind. Excellent execution, excellent timing. I think I learned a lot from you just from watching you play.

CalQDex
This is my friend who’s trying to get into more of the competitive scene of fighting games. If you actually keep up with SRK thanks for coming man.

AMEnoMURAKUMO
I have to dedicate most of the event to my boy. He suggested I throw a game night, but I’m sure he didn’t expect all the SRK people. Still can’t believe you dragged your girlfriend (it’s hard to believe she wanted to hang out there). Oh well hope y’all enjoyed the randomness / TMNT2 moobie.

Did I miss anyone? I can’t remember. SO much going on, so many new faces and names (SRK and real). Please remind me if I missed anyone as I am currently in a dazed state from the recent events. Maybe next time we’ll get more time dedicated to MVC2 and CVS2. Don’t know when the next time might be though.

Man, what you talkin bout? I DID cry laughing  Man, that battle fantasia was truly epic (i still don’t know how to spell it)…so much homosexuality going on in that game…oh and crabs

Once again man thanks for having us and putting up with us till the end. Like I said, I love to play everything, but it’s been so long since there was a “play w/e” gathering I haven’t been keeping up on my games so I was a little off (been a while since I played ggxxac on stick if you could tell). Tryin to get a converter for my stick so I can practice that SFIV on stick and drop pad (i couldn’t play Viper that night to save my life ).

Next time you throw down another one I’ll have my mvc2/cvs2 game polished up. FACE

EDIT: Just wanted to remind VGJunky(Abraham) about the 2 second victory I had over him in Hokuto No Ken. Fatal K.O.

Word, good times. I didnt really play much. I was just happy to get out of my house. A bit hot in there but other than that it was fun. I liked watching those wacky ass japanese games. That freakin’ rpg fighter game was silly. The energy was a bit low, except for that one dude. He had energy to spare. lol Yeah my buddy was fiending for a pad. What a chump. Anyhow, it reminded me of the old days here in stockton with the ppd crew, but I wasnt drunk. hehe

p.s. I would like to put different buttons in my stick, but I would really like to put another freakin’ stick in it. The stick thats in it now is kinda grinding on the clear plastic layer on the top, and it feels hella nasty. But Im afraid to open it up and do anything, its my only stick and if I bust it I dont have the funds to replace it. And I really dont want to have to use the pad again, that shit made my fuckin’ hands hurt so bad.

Edit - I found a guide for modding my anny stick. Hopefully I’ll be able to order the parts next week. Im gonna put a new stick and buttons in it and plug two buttons off. weeeeeee

You’ve gotta host another one soon man. It sounds like I missed out on some good times :frowning:

I really wanted to go, but i was puking all night when i came home from work. I think someone gave me the stomache bug. Maybe I’ll see you guys on Saturday.

Also, I think there is a comic convention in Sac early June. Do you think we could set up a tourney there?

I have some stuff for sale!

1 EX2 hori Joystick good condition for $100 (or best offer)
1 EX2 hor joystick moded completely with Jap parts for $120 (or best offer)

please call me ASAP if you want to jump on this thanks

Didn’t see a general Sacramento players thread, so I apologize in advance if this is the wrong place…

I’m gonna be moving up from Socal to the Sacramento area (Natomas) at the end of the month, and I’m wondering if there’s any sort of casuals or anything going on. I’m a pretty serious MvC2 player, and I’m going to start playing SF4 seriously once I move. I’ve also been playing Brawl for a few months. I imagine I’m going to be pretty bored up there, so it would be cool to be able to game it up with some people. :karate:

So where/what do people play?

Not sure what’s going down in Natomas…I think the majority of the activity is in central Sac and Elk Grove. Depending on where in SoCal I would guess Sac would be boring indeed.

From what I’ve seen, people have different games as their core ones. I’ve seen many people who play MvC2, although I’m not sure what level of comp they would be considered. I think the majority agree on playing SF4 since it’s the newest. I used to play CVS2 and GGXX while trying to learn the advanced MvC2 play. I think everyone is on SF4 currently though.

As where everyone is playing, well currently it’s just a few people having public get togethers every once in a while and a tourney just happened (last one was probably over 7 years). I’ve also heard a number of people trying to get a tourney scene going too, but we’ll see if that pans out. I might have another smaller game session in a week or two, but nothing on the scale as the last one.

Hey no worries - I’m in South Natomas right offa Azevedo. :clown:

who is down for some mvc2 or sf4 on ps3 tonight?

mvc2 on ps3 o.O??? I think i missed the memo. oh shit son :lovin:

Davis seems like the place to go. There is a SFIV cabinet at teh Sac State Union… but i dont hear anyone talking about it
