Hey there fellow Sacramentonians!
I have been a hardcore WoW player for almost 5 years but am looking for a change of scene. I just reserved my copy of SF4 an my HRAP3 is on its way. I’m ready to do get back into fighters, and really want to find a localcommunity, and if not, help build one.
Little background on me: 26, graduated from CSUS in graphic design and now work in Sac. So if you guys need any help at all making up fliers or promoting, I am your man. My profession is design but I also do illustrations and photography on the side.
I think building a Norcal tourney community would be so damn awesome… games are fun, but nothing compares to camaraderie and friendly competition that a community can bring. That’s what’s missing these days. A bunch of guys (and girls) getting together to drink some beer, talk trash and have a good time.
I didn’t read this entire thread but could someone give me any kind of update? How is this effort going? I am primarily only interested in SF4 at this point but I’m open.

Yo whats happenin! Currently nothing much is going on in the Sacramento area, i’m still trying to revive, but with no steady income (or any income 
) atm its kinda hard for me to try and run things (especially car-less). Soooooooooooooo, i’m trying to get a bunch of small gatherings together to play a fuck load of games that nobody has even heard of 
Actually, i’m play whatever i can get a hold of that everyone else is playing, so i’m rather open minded bout games. I play everything from shmups to lolifighter to HDR. That said, i am not good at anything really, except maybe Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure (used to be ok at GGXXAC, but i haven’t played in months :sad: ). Right now i’m not sure of a date that i will be holding my gathering, but when i do i’ll be posting here.

Smash Brothers Brawl has a pretty large competitive scene. Tournaments are 35+ people generally.

It just occurred to me how cruel God is for releasing SF4 the day after a 3-day weekend. WHY GOD??? WHY!?!?!?

Hey all. I do bank deposits for the Game Crazy on Sunrise and Zinfandel, and it sounds like they’re having a 3S tourney this saturday with a $5 buy in, with a copy of SF4 as the grand prize. Just a heads up. (You may want to call to confirm, though.)
Also, I wanna see if I can resurrect some Guilty Gear interest in the community. I’m interested in hosting weekly casuals/tourneys at my place for Accent Core. I live in the Citrus Heights area, for all who are interested.
I hope your lightrail friendly Rave. I would like to play people on a regular for Guilty Gear. A few ass beatings every other week or so can motivate me to get better at the game i loved :lovin: Thanks for the heads up on the 3S tourney though. Not too sure if i can make it out though.
Ehhh. Kinda. If you take the lightrail to Sunrise, take the 21 bus to the Sunrise Mall station, then transfer to the 1, it will take you right to my front door.
np, on the tourney, I wont make it either :/, I have to work that day, so I’ll miss it. I want them to get a good turnout though, they’re good guys, and it’s very rare to find a place that will support the 2D fighter scene out here.
anyone here used to play at the game room? I haven’t played any other games for awhile, but I hold up my own on SSF II HD remix on ps3.
Do you have anymore info? Like if they’re playing on HDTVs or CRTs? If it’s gonna be run on ps2 or if they’re just throwing it in a ps3? Allowed to bring joystick?

I raised an eyebrow at that too, but he confirmed it was 3S. I asked about the time, and it’s going to be from 12 to 4. That’s all I know man, call them up. Technically, it’s the Game Crazy on Sunrise and Coloma.
What up Sacramento! In my desperation to find myself a TE stick, I only managed to pick one up for the “other” console. Long story short, I have a PS3 Mad Catz Tournament Edition Stick that I’d very much like to trade for an XB360 one. I don’t even mind if it’s slightly used, I just really want one for my 360.
